24But he answered, and said, I am not sent, but vnto the lost sheepe of the house of Israel. 25Then came she, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, helpe me. 26But he answered, and said, It is not meete to take the childrens bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27And she said, Trueth Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crummes which fall from their masters table. 28Then Iesus answered, and said vnto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it vnto thee euen as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very houre.

Mt 15:26 It is not meet to take the children's bread. She knew that, in comparing the Jews to the children of God's family, and the heathen to the dogs without, he simply used the customary language of a Jew. He would bring out fully the greatness of her faith. The gospel was offered first to the Jews and then to all.
