4 And saying, "Where is the promise of His coming ? for
from the day the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as
they were from the beginning of the creation."
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of
God the heavens were of old, and the earth consisting of
... water and through ... water:
6 By which means the world that then was, being
overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same
word are treasured up, reserved for fire unto a day of
judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, let not this one thing be hidden from you,
that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day.

Matthew 9:24
Hello, the Bible says when we die we will enter a state to await Jesus's return then will face judgment all together. It's called judgment day. Matthew 12:36, Hebrews 9:27. There's no verse saying people get to skip this. There's no verse saying that all people go to heaven instantly, only to later travel back to earth into your body, then meet Jesus in the air, then to only go back to judgment after you've already been in heaven. It's not scriptural or logical and seems to require misinterpreting the following 2 verses, by cherry picking and broadly interpreting it as if it automatically represents all people and all circumstances.
"absent with body present with Lord" isn't in the Bible. That phrase has been changed from 2 Corinthians 5:8 where Paul said he would "rather" be absent from the body, and present with the Lord. He didn't say in 100% of all cases when people die that 100% of the time they will be "immediately" with the Lord, regardless. Paul was only stating his preference. It doesn't mean Hitler and other mass murderers are with the Lord right now, simply because of this one verse.
Second, people often quote the verse about the man on the cross that Jesus said would be in "paradise" on that day as support. But Jesus didn't say 100% of all people, from this moment onward will 100% go to heaven, and zero people going to hell including Hitler? Jesus has the power to make exceptions and take people to heaven, but the word paradise is not necessarily the same as heaven. Some believe this word means a waiting area for the dead.
Lastly, these are only 2 verses requiring creative interpretation, but at least 5 verses say we'll be sleeping are straightforward. Which is true? Bible says all will be judged, not just some. So, believing people go immediately to heaven without waiting on the Lord, and skipping judgment doesn't align with the other scripture either.
shall I do unto thee? and your piety/faithfulness is as a morning cloud,
and as the early dew it goeth away.
5 This is why I hewed them as declared by the prophets; I
have slain them by the words of My mouth: and My
judgment is as light that goeth forth.
6 For I desired lovingkindness/Love, and not sacrifice; and
the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
This is why I hewed them. Heb. idiom, by which the declaration that a thing should be done is spoken of the personal
act of doing it.
a. The greek text in 2 Peter 2:4 uses the word "tartara" for what the KJV Bible translates as " hell". As I sad before "tartarus or tartara" was considered by Greeks the most horrible and deepest place at Hades.
b. The greek for "bottomless pit" in Rev 20:1 and Rev 20:3 is "Abyss". which means just " bottomless" and is again something that is taken out from Greek myths.
c. About souls after death, how about the scripture in Rev 6:9-11? They are the souls of those who were slaughtered by antichrist and they are under the altar of the Temple of God in Heaven.
Can you please tell what scriptures or book the information is from that you are sharing on the first world age?
Thank you,
RLW
Isn't everyone a unbeliever before they are a believer?
Isn't everyone a liar?
Isn't everyone fearful?
The lake of fire is Christ.
Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
If your in Christ and Christ is in you; then your in the FIRE.
Matthew 3:11 ....and he shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.
Malachi 3:2 And who shall abide the day of his coming (Christ in you, Colossians 1:27, baptised into his name)? and who can stand when he (TRUTH and LIFE, John 14:6) appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire and a fullers soap.
Malachi 3:3 And he shall set (in you) as a refiner and purifier of silver: that YOU may offer unto the Lord an offering in RIGHTEOUSNESS.
God Bless You.
It seems unfair to only pray for victims of one country and not the other. Both are God's children. Remember the good Samaritan. Young people in the military are forced to serve and most probably don't want to and don't have political interests, seems unfair to punish them for something they have no choice, because they may be killed if they don't follow orders. Also pray for the prisoners of a political party who have locked up innocent people without trial for walking near the US capital building, to be political bullies. Praying for justice in all these injustices.
God cannot reward or punish people for what they would or wouldn't have done but for what they did or didn't. Just think of an imaginary story that somebody is drawn into a courthouse and the Judge tells him " You are guilty because you will steel a car". The guy then responds to the Judge " But I didn't, how can you punish me for something I did not do?" It's the same with God.

It is mind boggling that before this world was, every one of us was in the plan of LORD God. That God knew the world that is today before it even began. Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That we would be called and saved by His grace for His purpose.
I know the speed of light and the distance of the stars is calculated for the time it takes the light to travel to earth gives the age. But what if on day four when God, with His hand, spread the universe out around the earth the light was visible on earth that day.
Genesis 1:15 they gave their light upon earth that day, it was so; could you then calculate the age?
Just a thought.
God bless,
RLW
Astronomy is a hobby of mine. Today, Astronomers, Astrophysicists, and Cosmologists estimate that the age of the Universe to be approximately 14 billion years old. If that is a true estimate of how old the cosmos is then the Grace that was given to us as Paul writes"... in Christ Jesus before the world began. " is mind boggling to say the least. Almighty God knew each one of us before the creation of the Universe and granted his Grace to us in Christ's redeeming sacrifice before time began, before the creation of the world. That is the God that we worship!
I can share what I've learned about 1 Corinthians 7:14. Some believe that the word sanctified means salvation, but it doesn't. It does have to do with salvation in that the act of the Holy Spirit and being set apart, and that's what he is saying here, is that if a non-believer is pleased to dwell with the believer, that person is living under the influence of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life.
Also, at the end, and I'll share the literal translation about children. It says else "were" your children, but it is literally else "are" your children unclean; but now they are holy. It doesn't say that they are clean. They're still unclean. The word holy (HAGIOS) is the same word for sanctification. They're unclean but they are set apart to be under the Lord's influence through the believer.
An example can be found in 1 Peter 3:1-7 about the woman who had a non-believing husband. He says live your life from out of your heart in front of him. Don't try to impress him with outward dress and appearance, but let him see the hidden person of the heart so that there's a possibility that he might be saved. There's no guarantee. So the non-believer is still not forgiven, he's not saved. The children are still unclean, but they are set apart to be under the influence of God's Spirit in the believer.
Another scripture that is similar is found in Acts 16:31, "Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." I've actually heard people say that this is a promise you can claim, that if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for yourself, and if you believe for your whole house, everybody in your household is going to get saved, guaranteed!
That's not true because if we look at Verse 32, it says that not only did they speak it to him (The jailor), but they also preached to everyone in his house. What they are saying is that this is not only for you, but also for every member in your house. Everybody must believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are getting close to a One World Government but not 7 yrs close (IMO) biblical prophecy not yet fulfilled.
Satan comes at the 6th trump, 6th vial and 6th seal, Christ comes at the 7th.
What are these seals? The Knowledge of God's Word, To know God's word, His Plan.
Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
6th seal, You need to know Satan will appear in Jerusalem and says he is God by imitating the Messiah
What are the Trumpets? Trumpets are the actions, what's going to happen, when the trumpets sounds.
Revelation 9:13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates(tribulation)time of Jacobs Trouble.
What are the Vials? The wraths of God poured out.
Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water there of was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
The Seals are whats in the vials, and are poured out when the Trumpet sounds,,,, there are 7 seals, vials and trumpets,,,
I meant Romans 10:14. But Romans 10:18 still applies!
You see, One of God's most highly decorated creation's rebelled against Him in the first world age, deceived 1/3 of His children to stand against Him, and Love not Him but Satan.
So instead of destroying His Children, those who stood against Him, roughly 4 billion, and because He Loves them whereby no matter what they do, if they repent and return to Him He will accept them, thus receiving the gift of eternal life; He destroyed that world age, created this one, sending all souls through human flesh with a letter(bible) and free will to choose who they want to Love.
God knows who you stood with in the first World Age,,, 1/3 stood with God, 1/3 stood with stood, and 1/3 stood idly by and did nothing.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
As I was saying, people sometimes use Romans 10:18 to defend those who they say never heard of Jesus or the gospel message of salvation. But they often miss the fact that Paul says in the very same verse, "but I say have they not heard? Yes they have. Their sound went out into all the earth and their words unto the ends of the world." They have already heard! In fact, Paul in Colossians Chapter 1, he talked about that the inhabitable world in his day had already heard the word. They had already heard the gospel. God reaches everybody about the truth and about the one true God.
Every human being that stands before God, and if they say, "Hey, I am illiterate. I didn't even know there was a Bible. I didn't hear the gospel." But God is going to say to them "What happened when my Spirit came to you and illuminated you and shined my light, my life into your spirit? Were you drawn to me or did you try to get away from me?
Not intellectually how did you process it, but spiritually, how was your response to the truth when God's Spirit brought the testimony of the truth to your life? It could have been at a time when mentally you were not even aware of it. But at some point or another, every human being will either be drawn to the light, or will turn away from the light, but every person will be illuminated in some way. It doesn't have to be with words. It does not have to be with language. It doesn't have to be with preaching.
If you are asking what is God's purpose in knowing all that we will think or do, I must say that God does not choose to be all-knowing. He is all-knowing by nature. But being all-knowing ensures that God will direct history to the end He wills.
If you are asking what is the purpose for us to be able to make choices since God already knows what we will think or do, then their are several ways to think on this. One could think fatalistically thinking that since God knows all I'll ever think or do, what is the point of deciding anything or even caring about how I exercise my will, since God directs it. This is an unbiblical way of thinking.
The other way of thinking is that because God is all-knowing He will determine certain things to happen to us to help us come use our free will to obey Him. He can determine ahead of time certain events to occur in our lives that will strengthen our faith when we are in doubt. He may bring people or events to turn someone away from doing evil or turn someone to do what is right. He can also bring people and events into our lives that will helps us to use our free will to come to Him, follow Him, and serve Him.
God's omniscience does not interfere with our exercise of free will. He is far wiser and powerful enough to bless us, show mercy, and extend grace to us despite regardless of our own choices. He is truly the only FREE being, as nothing restrains Him or determines His ways or influences His choices. We, on the other hand, are influenced by our sinful nature and also by the Holy Spirit. We are limited in where we are born, who our parents are, etc. These are determined by God. We are restrained by forces of nature and by circumstances that make it impossible to do exactly as we please.
Again, we do differ on this. I will share a few more of my thoughts, not to be argumentative, but to share what I believe. I believe that every single person will one day stand before God and will have to give an account. No person will have an excuse. To me, it does not matter that a person believes in "a god." What matters is that the person believes and surrenders their life to the one true God, Jesus Christ.
There is a tremendous principle being taught in John 1:9. Every single person that is born into this world is at some point enlightened to the truth. There will be no excuse. No one will be able to stand before God and say I didn't know the gospel message about salvation, but I was a good person and always made the right choices because my conscience told me to do so.
Jesus tells us in John Chapter 14 that no one can come to the Father except through Him. In other words, there is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ. So this would eliminate all those who believe in a god, regardless of who their god is, or how good of a person they were.
Psalm 19:1-4 says that creation, the language of creation goes throughout the world. There is no language that does not understand the language of creation. And creation speaks of the Creator. Also, Romans 1:19-20, Paul says that what is known of God is clearly manifest as God reveals the truth of the invisible God to every person.
As far as the Muslims, Buddhists, and all other religions who are worshipping a different god because they "never heard of Jesus," I would also say that they are all without excuse. Now I know some people like to use Romans 10:18 to support what they believe are people, such as primitive tribes, who have never heard the gospel message. They say how is that fair? And they use Romans 10:18, which says how will they believe if they don't hear a preacher? And how are they going to hear a preacher if no preacher is sent?
I am running out of space so I'll send a (part 2)
The purpose of it all, is to bring God's creation to TRUTH.
Creation is DECEIVED.
Sinful flesh (man) DIED ON THE CROSS; a NEW CREATION (Christ in you) arose.
1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ ....
Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (Christ in you) that worketh both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.
Colossians 1:27 ...this mystery ....Christ IN YOU .....
John 17:23 I in THEM, and THOU in ME, that they may be PERFECT (Christ is the only one perfect) in one .....
Psalms 82:6 I have said, ye are gods, the children of the most high.
Philippians 1:29 For UNTO YOU it is GIVEN in the BEHALF of Christ, not only to BELIEVE on HIM (the word), but also to suffer for his sake.
Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature WAITETH for the MANIFESTATION of the Sons of God.
Why is creation WAITING?
Obadiah 1:21 And saviours (God's SONS, Christ and his brothers) shall come on mount Zion to JUDGE the mount of Esau, and the kingdom SHALL BE the LORD'S.
Psalms 149:9 To execute upon them the JUDGEMENT written, this HONOUR hath all his saints.
Romans 8:21 For the creature itself SHALL BE DELIVERED from the bondage of corruption (death and the grave) into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things have been subdued unto him, then shall the son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that GOD may be ALL in ALL.
Billions of people; dead and in the grave, are AWAITING the arrival of Christ and his brothers at the resurrection of the dead: to be brought to TRUTH.
Proverbs 16:6 By MERCY and TRUTH iniquity is purged .....
BELIEF will judge UNBELIEF.
God Bless YOU, his body.
That is a good way to connect accountability for sinful behavior in children with the authority of civil law to exact penalty for breaking the law.
As far as age of accountability goes, I know that children as young as toddler age are aware when they are doing something wrong. They will hide, deny, hang their head, run away, etc from a parent because they feel guilty. I have even seen a toddler repeat "No, no, no, no" as they do something they have been told not to do. Are these sins? I would say yes. Are these toddlers and very young children accountable for their sin? I would say yes, since they knew they were doing something wrong. Will their sin be held against them by God? I would say yes, too. However, I would say I believe that the sacrifice of Jesus does cover these sins in the very young. He took these sins upon Himself on the cross just like the sins of everyone else. The difference is that God shows mercy towards these very young children in forgiving them through. Jesus because they are not of an age yet to understand that they are sinning against God. They know that they are disobeying their parents, but not that they are disobeying God. Also, at this age, the concept of the existence of God, Whom cannot be seen or cannot be heard speaking is an abstract idea that young children are not very capable of considering or understanding. They think very concretely and according to what they can physically sense.
As Christian parents, we teach our children from infancy about God. We pray with them. We bring them to church to fellowship with other young children whose parents are believers. In such an environment, our children may come to an age of accountability at a younger age than a child raised by non-Christian parents.
I remember reading where children of believers are sanctified because of the faith of a parent ( 1 Corinthians 7:14). I am not sure what this means.
I love it!!! I am still cracking up about the "misdemeanors or felonies" explanation. I had to go back up and read your first paragraph over because I was laughing so much that I forgot what you said about the age of accountability. You are spot on, and have given some great scripture references. I always enjoy reading your posts. And thank you so much for making my day with your humor. I almost spilled my coffee!
It is true that God knows ahead of time what we are going to do. This does not mean that it is God forcing us to do things. We make decisions on our own. But something we must keep in mind is that God knows our hearts. In other words, He knows what decisions we are going to make, whether those decision are right or wrong. And He allows us to make decisions. But on the other hand, I believe that what God expects from us is obedience and faithfulness.
God is faithful to us, so it's not much for Him to ask the same in return. But we are constantly faced with decisions in life. What are we going to do? What is the Lord leading us to do? Do we follow the persuasion of God's Spirit in our lives, or do we go our own way? This is where the "God already knows who we are and what we going to do" comes in. He knows what decisions we are going to make because He knows our hearts.
Did you know that we make decisions based on who or what we love the most? It's true! For example, the Lord might be leading me to go to Bible study on Thursday night, but the latest movie I have been wanting to see comes out in the theater the same night, and a friend paid for two tickets and wants me to go. Now I have a choice to make. So what do I do? What or who do I love the most? Again, the Lord knows my heart. He knows ahead of time what choice I am going to make. But He doesn't make the choice for me, I make the choice.
So the purpose is that we are to remain faithful to the Lord. What is He leading us to do? He knows our hearts and what choices we are going to make. Are we going to be faithful?
