Did I miss something? In verse 39 the woman's name is Dorcas. Then in verse 40 her name is Tabitha. Is this the same woman?

No. In original Hebrew language, Genesis 1:1 reads: In Beginning. The writers added "the".

God first created TIME for mankind and other living things. So He sees inside and outside of time. He created humans in His IMAGE AND LIKENESS. He gifted us with freedom to make choices.

We can make good choices or bad ones. Like now, we can choose Jesus as Savior and Lord; and Jesus will Baptist us with the Holy Spirit. He teaches, explains and speaks to our born again human spirits. The closer we are to Him, the less volume he has to use.

I made that discovery on Genesis 1:1 because I was always trying to answer that one question that all scientists and scholars couldn't answer:

(TIME, FORCE, ACTION, MATTER). They couldn't produce a mathematical formula to explain 'time'.

I believe God gave it to us now, because a lot of scientists could be saved__IF__they can believe in God.

I'm having way more fun as a born again Christian. God says, seek ME.

Satan had no clue whatsoever that Jesus had defeated him once and for all in Bethlehem as a newborn baby HUMAN. Satan is a created angel. Not human. Earth was created FOR HUMANS. Jesus died for the sins of every human ever born; unborn in the womb, stillborn or miscarried. Heaven is POPULATED!!

You can meet this amazing God of Love in the pages of the Bible right now. Get a Reference Bible. It will take you to all the scriptures that will confirm or tell more story on what you're studying now. He will show you things that will make you say WOW!! Alot.

My son has a floor robot. It runs its path and scoops up kind of lint & stuff. That's what it's like for me, but I'm not a machine. I'm on a quest to discover all the hidden gems of wisdom hidden in all my ragged marked up Bibles.

    Follow Jesus.

In order to get to the beginning of Christ ya wd have to get back to the 1st time God Almighty ever spoke a WORD....Simply b/c Christ was Always the living word of God...He was always in the bosom of the FATHER....Impling the very mind of God Almighty....Thus Christ has no beginning as he was always the living WORD of GOD....And the living WORD the son was God ...Also

......2 distinct Beings but 1 kingdom both God ....But 1 wd have to die for the sins of the world...A body has thou prepared me...The Son wd have to die for the sins of the world...But the Father neva died ...The son cd not have died without a body....But that body was not a tererstial body it was a Celestial body...As he says i am from above, you are of this world but i am not of this world....You are from beneath but i am from above....Celestial...Unless you drink my blood and eat my flesh you will have no life in you....Whosoever eateth of me shall neva die.

.....But B/C of this great sacrifice of his only son....God made a Promise that CHRIST WD BE MULTIPLIED AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN Thus everyman wd get a Seed ...Every man will get a measure of faith. Unless a Seed falls into the ground and dies it abides ALONE...But if it dies it will bring forth much fruit....Many Christ as the stars of heaven....I will pour out of my Spirit on all FLESH....As my words/seeds are spirit and life....But when God made this great PROMISE he swore by himself impling he was gonna multiply himself....Thats y Jesus is saying to whom the WORD/SEED came it made them Gods..( the H.G. IS GOD ) and is the gift of GOD TO ALL....If i belifted up i will draw ALL men unto me....Thats y he is saying i was found of them that sought me not...I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me....Jesus is gonna draw all men unto him...wither we like it or not....While we were yet sinners Christ died for ALL of us....Mans carnal mind is the very enemy of God and wd neva want anything to do with God...But while we were YET Sinners

Hello Janet. Politics should not be discussed in Church, if by this you mean that an Elder or Pastor can use the pulpit to speak about political parties & infer which way Christians should vote. The pulpit is a place for preaching from the Bible. The preacher could speak about governments & their responsibilities in line with what the Bible relates to those in authority over us, but not in a specific way as to how one should vote or even denigrate or extol a politician or a party.

For those congregants who may be uninformed about the political parties, their policies, how to conduct a vote, etc., maybe a special out-of-Church session used for this purpose to give guidance - just as there could be special instructional classes for seniors (about their rights, services provided for them, computer literacy, etc.). But to preach about politics, even with an intent to urge one to vote in a particular manner, would go well outside the bounds of the minister of the Word. If God's Word is preached truthfully & faithfully & the Bible central in a believer's life, they will know how God views the policies that parties hold to, as well as the integrity & competence of the candidate proposed.

    1 John 4:1

They don't come out and say it , they actually will agree with it , but their doctrine reveals their errors .

They spiritualize Christ in their doctrines to the neglect of His humanity , therefore another Christ that apostle Paul warned us about .

If you post this it's a miracle to me .

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"

And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'"

from this verse can one say God lied that they would die?

or were we created to never die in the beginning?
  • Cindy - In Reply - 2 years ago
Dear Christina, In James 4:7 the Bible says, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Do not argue with him. Whatever you are being tempted to do, rebuke him with a Scripture that teaches you not to fall to that temptation.

An example can be found in Luke 4:2-4

2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Plus, a lot of our difficulties arise from unconfessed sin and not doing God's will. We all have pet sins.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Search your heart, confess your sins to God, and repent--turn away from them.

Psalms 139:23, 24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Psalm 25:4 Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Yes Doug. That's what that verse states. But to appreciate what Jesus had given up, we find the Apostle Paul iterating what took place: in Philippians 2:5-8, which you know well. Thank you for your input - I have written to the others who have taken time to share their thoughts - you may find something useful in my comments to them.

Thanks Mark. I agree with what you've written here: that "each (aspect of the Godhead) is somehow spoken of as separate from God", and this I believe is true because that is how the Word of God reveals the Mind & Acts of God in relation to humanity. Yet, God is One & is indivisible into some sort of 'parts of God' - but that God takes from within His Divinity to reveal to men His Love & longing for all to turn from their wicked ways, unto Him alone. He alone does this for our sakes, and we now can love Him because of that Love displayed through His Son. When we see Jesus, to love Him, learn from Him, & long for Him, we do in very Truth see the Father ( John 14:9).

And John 6:37-39 is God's Promise to us: "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT. For I CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day."

Good point Chris Adam was certainly a created being and Jesus being the Second Adam most certainly was a created being .

Jesus was made flesh that's a creation by God not Jesus .

The true Jesus was born of Gods Spirit and Mary's flesh . The real created second Adam .

You brought up a good point I just help finished it .

The fly away doctrine is a soul hunt, all who are alive during the tribulation will remain and will go through it.

The 144,000 are redeemed from the earth during the time, meaning they went astray, fell into idol worship by false teaching false doctrine believing Christ comes first (He does not) but after realizing satan is not the Christ the 144,000 turn away from, stand against satan, and are redeemed.

Hi One Eighty. You may care to peruse my comment to Doug (to save repetition). Thank you.

But to certain things you stated. I think you understand the verse "which I had with thee before the world was" to mean that God created Jesus before He created mankind: "Jesus was an extension (creation) of God before man entered the world."

I can't recall any verse to show that God ever created someone called Jesus. Rather, the Bible tells us there is only One God - there is none beside Him. Yet, we find that within the Person of God there lies Entities (also referred to as Persons) called the Word & the Spirit. We don't have trouble defining & understanding the Spirit, but when the Word is brought up, we struggle & have wildly different opinions. Yet, we have clear Truths given to us, as in Revelation 19:13, that when Jesus returns, He is seen as the One "clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God." Not only is Jesus seen as the Word of God placed into humanity, but this One Who holds an intrinsic part of God's Person, returns with that same title. Jesus is ever God's Word, but for our sakes, took on humanity for the suffering of death.

So, I don't see anything about a creation of a Jesus - I read that God sent His Word (from within Himself), born into humanity, being called Jesus (Immanuel, 'God with us') & never ceasing to be vitally a part & connected to the Godhead. Jesus is always God's Word, but in the incarnation, God made a material change, taking that spiritual Essence of Himself & clothing Him with flesh (the best I can describe it). You do refer to a Triunity of God, but I would question Jesus being a created Being (Adam was a created being - Jesus was begotten from God), & I agree, Jesus can never be said to be a Creator of God.

We all have 2 bodies, a flesh body, and a spiritual.

The flesh is of clay(figure of speech)God uses nature to teach,, and when it dies, it goes to hell, hell meaning(the grave)it returns to dust, whereas the spiritual body returns to the Father that gave it, which is Heaven because wherever the Father is that is Heaven.

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

When the clay pot breaks All souls go back to the Father

Ecclesiastes12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Clay is made out of dust
  • Chris - In Reply - 2 years ago
I appreciate your response, Doug. I see that you do believe that the "Word was with God and the Word was God". But is our difference in understanding lie only in "what happened after the Word was (then) made flesh (i.e. His life in humanity)?" I think there is another important matter to look at before that, i.e. before Jesus was given God's Glory on Earth, where was He before His Coming?

So, this Word that was with God and was God ( John 1:1), was not only the Word uttered by God to create all things (v3), but in God's Wisdom & Plan, He gave His Word flesh (v14) - drawn from the Essence of God into humanity, & the disciples saw that this Glory which reflected from Him was that of the Father's only begotten Son (not first created, 'protokitises', but first born, 'prototokos': in relation to the first 'of its type in creation, of divinity & humanity as one'). At a previous time, someone else translated that verse to be, 'that Jesus then became God's Word' (i.e. Jesus came & then the Word placed into Him; rather than 'the Word came & was made human'). Herein is the problem.

Then when we look at John 17:5, we can see in Jesus' Prayer that He recalls to His Father about the Glory that He had with Him. This glory Jesus had to lay aside for the sake of becoming human ( Philippians 2:5-8). And in John 17:1-5, Jesus speaks to His Father about this Glory: that Jesus was in the throes of completing the Work of the Father, of bringing Glory to Him through it (v4), and now longs for God's Glory (which Jesus once had), to be granted back to Him (v5). Now exactly what this Glory entails, we're not told. But it would certainly reflect His Position within God's Person (seen in the verses cited), the task accomplished on Earth, & the Glory, Power & Victory emanating from the coming resurrection.

And the glory we've received: being in Christ as Christ is in God ( Col 3:3) - not gods, but sharing in all the goodness & vitality of the One Who is now our Father & Jesus our Brother.

You are a Unique God and no one can compare with You. You Lord Jesus know about all our problems and we pray for Cristina today. We come forward in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and command the destructive spirit that torments her to leave her in Jesus Name, it must not come back in His holy name it is bound in the deepest abyss, forever. Because in Jesus' name we have been given authority to cast out evil spirits, many thanksgivings will come to You Lord from this prayer answer and Christina will praise Your Holy Name for the rest of her life. Thank You Lord, Amen.

Save the prayer "Christina" and repeat it to yourself out loud whenever you need it.

Sometimes it can take years to get answers to prayers. So we have received the Holy Spirit to comfort us in the evil days. But we will always, with His help, make it happen. I belive u belive in Jesus Christ.

Thank you very much for your attention and keep up the good work. Be yourself always and you will be noticed, by the Higher Powers and also hopefully a man who takes responsibility and will do anything for you, and love you from here to the moon!

When you come into this website you're on the LINK PAGE.

Up at the top is the SEARCH BOX. Links for the entire Bible is below that.

It's a really great SEARCH ENGINE, but just for Bible subject.

You can put the word 'Atonement' in the box and hit the arrow >

The engine will fetch every scripture that contains THAT word. You can sort the list; and the engine places the list in book order.

Or you can read either Old Testament verses only

    Or, New Testament verses only

With DATES OR HISTORY, you'll have to go on Google. Type it in like this:

    "Atonement, history"

Or Commentaries, or Meaning, or teaching

By using all the search options, you'll learn some really awesome information. If search doesn't fetch anything try wording it differently.

If it fetches 10,000 verses; try wording it another way or just look at only OT or NT verses.

Look around on this whole website to see what's in it. If you get lost, just back out and come back in. Curious is good.

The location of the commentary box is below the search box. Touch a scripture and it will highlight Yellow. Scroll down slowly; the Wesley Commentary will appear.
  • If you Love Jesus_feed His Sheep - In Reply - 2 years ago
There are 3 kinds of Biblical love Jesus is defining to Peter in John 21:21-25

Eros refers to physical or sexual love. The word eros was commonly used in the Greek-speaking world of New Testament times. (We might say, sure Jesus you know I love you!)

Philos means warm affection or friendship.

Agap is the sacrificial, unconditional love of God.

Jesus was speaking of deeper truth about Love. And then he shared that some will die for the preaching of the Gospel. Google the deaths of the apostles of Jesus Christ.

The sheep of Jesus's pasture in Psalm 23 are his followers; and all those that have believed Jesus for salvation for the past 2000+ years.

Feed my sheep means, evangelize, preach, teach, pastor, plant new churches. Grow up the Body of Christ into full stature; reproducing the teachings of Jesus.

We should all get into this Bible and grow up on the Word of God ourselves, every day all year long. It takes a deep Commitment to JESUS to give our time to Him.

    Jesus said, I will Repay.

We need to be honest about which kind of love, we love Jesus With. Don't fake it. Count the Cost before you say it.

I almost died of wild reckless living. I was tired of it. Death courted me every day. One little 6 yr old kid kept me here. That little pure face of love and light.

Jesus appeared to me, like Paul sort of. I got 10 seconds to see what all of the Love in the World looks like. I've followed Him all these years.

I'm telling you HERE! Not on tv or YouTube or sell a bunch of books. Jesus is alive. He is exactly as described from Genesis to Revelation. He is the Son of God!

Stop waffeling in the middle with this. Get all in. And you're going to have to do as I did. Cram scripture in hand over fist, every single day. It forms your two-edged SWORD. We are here to be equipped. Ask God to direct your path.

John 21:16,17, Jesus said this directly to one person, Simon, Son of Jonas, called Peter. To understand more deeply, you would have to follow the scriptures that happened prior.

Please read: John 10:1-18, Psalms 100:3,

    Luke 12:22-32,

Matthew 26:31-75, Mark 14:27-72, Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, prophecy from Old Testament: Isaiah 53, Zechariah 13:7,

    Example of people lovingly referred to as sheep : 2Samuel 24:17, 1Chronicles 21:17, 2Chronicles 18:16, Psalms 74:1, Psalms 78:52, Psalms 79:13, Ezekiel 34:6,

    Matthew 9:26, Matthew 18:12,13, Mark 6:24, 1Peter 2:25, compassion,

    Deuteronomy 8:3,

John 6:47-69, notice in that moment "Simon Peter"'s reply: John 6:68,

    Hopefully these are helpful
  • T. Levis - In Reply on Galatians 6 - 2 years ago
    Galatians 6:15,

Please see context: Deuteronomy 10:16, Deuteronomy 30:6, even in old testament men have argued their holiness, set apart status, (in the flesh) yet GOD said even then; it's about the heart. Jeremiah 4:4, Jeremiah 9:25, = Romans 2:29, Romans 3:30, Romans 4:11, 1Corinthians 7:18,

    Galatians 3:28,

They were still arguing circumcision, not equality in GOD. Acts 11:2, Galatians 2:12,

    New= 2Corinthians 5:17,

    Hopefully these are helpful

Thank you so much for the prayer I greatly appreciate it and I know He will listen. Just so you know, I had been praying for my son for yrs. and a few months before he repented he asked me "why do you always bring up the bible or Jesus every time we talk, can't we just have a normal conversation mom". So we did for the next few calls, though it was hard not to bring up Christ, and as soon as I would get off the phone I'd fall to my knees and ask God to take over. So I left it up to Him from then on. It always gets the hardest before the healing begins I'm told. So I learned then to let go and let God! Keep praying for your loved ones every day and have everyone you know pray for them and believe with all your heart that God will do the rest.!
