    Hi Samuel. According to the Gregorian calendar, the seventh day is Saturday. From the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, there were some changes to the dates within the month, but the days of the month (or, their sequence) were unchanged. So, the Jew who kept the Sabbath on the seventh day in those early days & also in the time of Christ & afterwards, still maintained the correct Sabbath Day.

    Hello Mr. Adam Clark:

    God is a God of numbers. In Matthew and Mark, God was speaking to the Jews about the end time.

    Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: I agree with you about Jeremiah. I also put in bold letters key words, Jeremiah 25:11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. Jeremiah 25:12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it PERPETUAL desolations. Jeremiah 29:10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in EVERLASTING righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to ANOINT THE MOST HOLY. I agree with you about Daniel 9:24 speaks about Jesus. It may very well be a double applications. The next verse 25 is saying the going forth to restore and to build Jerusalem seven weeks=49 years, and threescore and two weeks=434 years. Then v26 talks about the flood as in Rev 12:15-16 Rev 11:2; 13:5 talks about 42 months that equates to 3.5 years within the 70th week=7 years in v27 (49+434+7=490). The saints are no longer exist here as stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:9. 2 Thessalonians 2:2-3. Acts 20:28; Ephesians 6:18; 1 Thessalonians 2:19. BeComforted.

    If Jesus was God he wouldn't be sitting on the right hand of God. He carried the nature of God (divine nature). That's what it means when the Bible says he was in the form of God. I like to keep it simple he was the Son of God. Since he had God's nature he could say he was one with God and was God.

    The two gospels (Luke and Mark) explain that divorce and remarriage is adultery without exception; Matthew has what is known as an "escape clause" for fornication; which is worded differently in the very next passage both times ( Matthew 5 and 19) where those who MARRY someone who is divorced is committing adultery (even if marrying the "innocent spouse").

    I see the exception of fornication as talking of breaking an engagement BEFORE CONSUMMATION in marriage since its use earlier in the passage talking about Joseph thinking of divorcing Mary during the espousal period.

    There are some complexities with other scriptures; although in Romans and Corinthians it seems pretty clear that ONLY if a spouse dies is a woman innocent to remarry and of course a man in reverse situation as well. Even if we think the exception clause means adultery; those who KNOW they have remarried for any other reason and hence did wrong have to get out of it like any other sin. That is against what is "politically correct" in many circles but with any other sin we know we commit we must stop doing it not just say we made a mistake and expect God to honor it. I can't see that abandonment or abuse allows for remarriage; or even divorce other than for the other committing adultery. Corinthians says to remain separate or resolve differences. We certainly are not free to trade in for a younger model; or any other excuse for divorce. Yes abuse means a separation perhaps a permanent one is NECESSARY. We are to be at peace whenever possible; and there are kids to consider.

    The best thing I can ask; being through a divorce myself (because of adultery) is to look with discerning eyes on those who are remarried to see where they are spiritually. And look to yourself as well. I could have involved myself in a relationship; the Lord stopped me. Any vow or covenant made between God and men must be kept as God keeps His end when we vow till death do us part He holds us accountable.

    Agape.

    I believe most of the answers on this subject are found in 1 Corinthians chapter 7, Tiffany. Here, the Apostle Paul writes about problems within a marriage, which should hopefully be dealt with by a temporal separation & then a coming together (v5); or in divorce, that they remain unmarried, or else come back together (vv 10,11); or in a marriage where one is a believer & the other, not. Divorce can take place if one is unhappy to live with the other - but the idea of remaining single thereafter is implied (vv 12-16).

    And this is based on Matthew 19:5,6: "For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

    Any marriage, whether amongst believers or not, brings about an indissoluble union, as the two become one. If a divorce has to take place, then they have to remain separated. If they remarry, then they would remain accountable to God for their decisions. It seems the only times that a lawful remarriage can take place are when one spouse dies ( 1 Corinthians 7:39), or because of fornication committed ( Matthew 5:31,32). However, this 'fornication' seems to be based on Deuteronomy 24:1, where "uncleanness is found in her", i.e. it is supposed that the man has found that his wife was not pure, whether occurring in her single state or in the betrothal period, or even after marriage. Some have raised arguments about this understanding; and some take this infidelity by the woman to happen only within the marriage, so giving grounds for divorce. Unfortunately, there's no indication what happens when the husband has been unfaithful. In any case, the general understanding is that divorce is a severing of a holy union, and if it must happen, then remaining unmarried thereafter ensures that no sin is committed.

    Hi Douglas. I don't believe that a baby is born into sin. I do believe that a baby is born with a sin nature, a nature that each one of us inherits from our parents and that going all the way back to Adam & Eve. King David said it well in Psalm 51:5: "I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." He saw that even as far back as being in the womb, that this developing embryo not only had the beginnings of bodily organs in preparation for life outside the womb, but was also the recipient of the unseen essence that its parents would naturally transfer to him: that of a fallen sin nature.

    The sin nature is within the embryo & within the newborn baby. But that sin nature hasn't yet been tested by the forces that will come upon the child. The child remains pure, yet disadvantaged by inheriting this nature that will give it a propensity to sin one day. Once a child does wrong & then is at an age of understanding the wrongdoing (whether learned from parents or that inner sense of conviction), the child can be said to be a sinner. Even though a new-born baby gives all the cues of fresh new life growing into adulthood, the fact remains that the sin nature within unfortunately gives the guarantee that the process of dying has already commenced. A very sad thing to state for sure, but that is the consequence of having the sin nature & then of committing sin ( Romans 5:12). We are not responsible for receiving the sin nature - we are responsible for the sin we commit as a result of it.

    The product of our sinful nature & of sin will result in death, but thanks be to God for the Gift of His Son Jesus Christ & the promise of forgiveness & eternal life through Him ( Romans 6:23) - that our spirits can be renewed & received by Him, because of trusting in Jesus, our Salvation.

    *** Can the Holy Ghost Convict a Born Again Believer (child of GOD)(Member of the Body of Christ) Of ""SIn"" ?

    My answer is NO!

    1Jn 3:9 KJV Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

    Joh 16:7 KJV Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

    Joh 16:8 KJV And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

    Joh 16:9 KJV Of sin, because they believe not on me;

    Joh 16:10 KJV Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

    Joh 16:11 KJV Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

    From what you've shared about this matter, and providing your Pastor is now single & intends to maintain that position, I see no reason why he can't continue to minister to God's people. For obvious reasons, such as, having a 'balanced' witness to people, an effective ministry to the whole Church, being single-eyed to his wife & companion/not being distracted, etc., I feel that it is the preferable position for a pastor to be married. But from a biblical understanding, I don't see any specific reason that he should step down. He may though, at some future time, feel that holding such a responsible position on his own, has become untenable.

    Genesis 4,

    Interestingly the Garden was in GOD's presence, Genesis 3:8,

    Cain fleed GOD's presence, couldn't it be the Garden representative of the "vinedressers" "stewards" of the Church? Genesis 2:8,9,15, Matthew 20:1-16, Seth is the lineage of Jesus CHRIST, Luke 3:21-38,

    There are many people mentioned in Genesis 4, & different trades,jobs, skills to spread throughout the Earth as commanded by GOD in Genesis 1:28

    May God bless your efforts , you can't go wrong when you do things in love , trust in God's love , for you and for her , He is merciful to all , sometimes all you can do is bring a bit of love into someone's life , you may not be able to bring her all the way but if you can just show her how much you and God love her this will hopefully calm her fears and you will be glorifying God through the love that you show her . My folks are dying and scared to do so , I know they don't want to hear the Truth so I just go there , do odd jobs , try to make them smile and bring some warmth and affection to them both . Neither of them have been very nice to me since I was a child and they have guilt over the way they treated me , so I've told them that it's all a million years ago and they are not to think about it , I forgive them and love them , I've moved on and they can too , that seemed to cheer them up a bit . We are none of us perfect and we may have hurt others badly without even realising it , love conquers all , I know you will do and say the right things to be a comfort to your sister , you are a kindly soul Mishael , God loves you very much , so do I . Be not soon shaken ! Much love in Christ .

    No , I don't believe that Jesus was God , I believe that Jesus was and is the Son of God who was created by God and that no human male was involved in his conception , and I believe that Jesus was filled with God's Holy Spirit , more than any other human has ever been , which is why he was able to perform the miracles that he did . I'm sorry if this upsets or offends anyone , that's not my intention , I haven't come to my beliefs lightly or quickly and I have no desire to try to convert anyone to my beliefs , we are all reading from the same Bible .

    Suze, do you not believe that Jesus was God? The bible says that the Jews took up stones to kill Jesus. They accused Him of blasphemy and that's why they wanted to stone Him to death. Would you happen to know what blasphemy they were accusing Him of?
