we serve Him who is all powerful, all authority belongs to Him.The Grandmaster who brought this universe into being and oversees happenings on this earth, He reserves the ultimate privilege to avert otherwise an almost predictable situation and when He does that frickle minded man comes back to realization that He still exists. This is the Man who has put out that promise in Jeremiah 1 19, that we would come out victorious when we find ourselves confronted with life 's hostilities, are you indemnified by this perpetual promise or do you doubt this Man?

  • Rev. Autrey on Luke 1 - 11 years ago
Luke 1 recor, 42When Elizabeth heard Mary s greeting, the child leapt in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 43And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my LORD comes to me? 44For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leapt for joy. 45And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her by the LORD. Notice that Elizabeth used the word LORD to mean GOD. This means that Elizabeth knew that Mary was to be the mother of GOD. The people had waited a long time for the appearance of GOD AS SAVIOR to deliver them from their enemies. But we know that the real enemy was their many sins. This is what Elizabeth was talking about. So when the people refered to Jesus as LORD, they meant that they considered him to be God. The sense that the word LORD means GOD has been lost in today 's religious world, but this was not so in the days of John the Baptist and Jesus. What I am saying is, we must bring it back. Paul said in Romans 10 that we must confess "that Jesus is LORD OR GOD " in order to be saved. He goes on further to say that we must also believed that Jesus raised himself from the dead. And he tops it off by saying that anyone who prays to Jesus by calling on his name will be saved. Please consider this! "
  • Randy on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
The Bible is to be interpreted by the Bible. This said, as for Peter baptizing only in the name of Jesus is a misunderstanding of Acts 2 38. Compare it with Romans 6 3 "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? " Also Galatians 3 27 "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. "

The Basic English Bible translation is jarringly different from the other translations, and in my opinion, wrong how does it get "violent behaviour takes away souls " from "he that winneth souls is wise "? Compare with all of the other translations. Where did the violence them come from? How could Basic turn a basically evangelic verse into such a negative expression?

  • Damon on Genesis 13 - 11 years ago
Some things have been popping out at me, this is my first read through, and I am seeing things that make me do a Keanu, and go WHOA... Parenthesis mine In verse 16 this "And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth As Adam? so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. " Point being, read those last lines closely. "so that is a man mankind can number the dust of the earth. " What is 'the dust of the earth '? Easy. What is DUST? Answer Particulate matter. PARTICLES OF MATTER. God, was telling man Abraham, who 's seed he shall make 'as Adam ' about the Periodic Table of Elements 4000 years ago! And the last line "then shall thy seed also be numbered. " IMO, this is PROPHECY. God is telling Abraham about the numbering of his descendants during WW2. Don 't see the connection? According to wiki, the periodic table of elements became widely distributed in the 1930 's. What else happened then? The forced numbering of the descendants of Abraham!

  • Cherie on Ecclesiastes 9:4 - 11 years ago
Edmund, "The Old Testament Does not have Jesus or Heaven... "? Have you read Isaiah 53 lately, or the Psalms or any of the major or minor prophets? No, the name "Jesus " is not mentioned in the Old Testament but the Son of God, who became Jesus, is everywhere in the Old Testament and so is reference to His kingdom, which is heaven. In the four gospels, Jesus Himself makes reference to so many texts from the Old Testament, many which are prophecies about Himself and there are literally hundreds of text references from the Old Testament in the New. I have frustration with those who say the Old Testament is no longer relevant, when without the Old Testament, we would have no clear understanding of the plan of salvation, no knowledge of our origin, the creation of the world, the fall of Lucifer, the divinity of Jesus or the law that Jesus came to defend with his death on the cross.

  • Charm on Proverbs 24:9 - 11 years ago
I get the first part regardless of translation. The second part is unclear. Scorner mocker of what? In general? These behaviors ARE negative, but an abomination seems over the top in comparison to other abominations. I guess as it 's said, "sin is sin. ". Peace.
  • Tim George on Psalms 127:3 - 11 years ago
If thou, O Lord kept a record of sin, who would be able to stand? But there is forgiveness with Jehovah that thou may be feared. Thank God because Jesus died vicariously on the cross for our sins, and God has cast them as far as the east is from the west. We are now justified, sanctified, and will be glorified when we see Jesus.
  • Richard Hauhnar on 2 Samuel 1 - 11 years ago
Was Saul killed by the Amalekite or did he kill himself?
  • Rev. Autrey on 1 John 4:2 - 11 years ago
I John 4, verse 2 says, And the way to find out if a message is from the Holy Spirit is to ask, does it really agree that Jesus Christ, God 's Son, actually became a man with a human body? If so, then the message is from God. The term GOD 'S SON is another way of saying that Jesus is God. We know this because of what is written in Hebrews 2, verse 8. It says, But to his Son he says, 'Your throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever. And in verse 10 it says, LORD, in the beginning you laid the the foundation of the earth. And since jesus is the way God speaks to us, this is Jesus talking about himself. He is saying that since he is God, he will take the title SON OF GOD when he is on earth. This identities him with us, the son 's of men. Then if we or a pereacher agrees that God became a man and lived among us, then, that man is speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It can be no other way, because that is exactly what happened. Let me say this, running around the church, acting empty headed, does not mean that the holy Spirit is upon us. Making nonsensical prediction that have nothing to do with Jesus does not make us have the Holy Spirit either. Nor does falling on the floor by the power of who knows what. Only when we confess that Jesus is Lord, or that Jesus is our God who came to save us are we speaking by the inspiration of God 's Spirit. God bless you!
  • Kim on Deuteronomy 32:11 - 11 years ago
Our family is very interested in birds, so we learn a lot about their behaviours. God 's Word is true, no matter what, so I have a question. North American Eagles do not do this. The young learn to fly from observation and practising. How many of us have watched the eagle cams? Is this behaviour done by any other eagle or bird if another species or is this verse meant to be taken figuratively?
