Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD." 2 Kings 20:5
Father, you healed Hezekiah in the ancient time. Heal all those people who write these prayers.
Heal me of my wounds, stop the way against harm, loss, calamity, for all them who call on the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, through the only Mediator, Healer, and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.
25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
These verses at first glance seem to contradict the idea of the Grace of God. A basic argument that holds some water here is that the Spirit of God didn't work at it does today ( John 16:8) with a permanent indwelling as this and other verses promise.
We could also look at such instances as King Hezekiah in 2 Kings 20:6 who apparently had a righteous life and God heard his prayer to continue 15 more years. One good study is with Saul's foolishness which ended with an early death after he saught wisdom from the witch of Endor in 1 Samuel 28. We see other wicked kings as well have a shortened life; perhaps also Solomon. Of course we all die physically; and some would argue the soul dies also only the spirit goes on to eternity. I would add the solution is in verse 31 of Ezekiel 18 which mentions getting a new heart and spirit. This only comes through the Lord ( Ezekiel 36:26-27). Without this we can superficially ask forgiveness every time an outward sin is found; but this doesn't make us able to do good because of man's sin nature; and ignores sins of omission as well as one's we aren't aware of. It also shows how we shouldn't boast how long we haven't sinned as some foolishly proclaim; ignoring warnings in 1 John about the fact that we are a liar if we claim we have no sin. God's children are corrected even through their sin in the sanctification process.
What you, and others that hold your view, are doing is missing, ignoring, denying (you chose the word) that the EFFICACY of Christ's Atonement extends from the FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.
This is unscriptual, it didn't apply until He actually did it.
quoting you;
"If this were not the case, no one living in the OT could have ever become saved. Why? Because no one can, nor ever has, kept the Law of God perfectly".
Job 1:1Job 1:8Job 2:3 Enoch was take up to God, do you really believe God would allow a sinner into heaven? Both of these was before the law, & after the law 1 Kings 11:42 Kings 20:31Chronicles 29:9Luke 1:6Philippians 3:6
What saith thou of thyself?
Friend, your putting your foot in your mouth again!
Nineveh and Babylon appear to be two nations that had a wholesale turn toward God; initiated in both cases by the rulers at hand.
Sackcloth and ashes were worn by the King in the first example; along with a mandatory fast. In the second case; it appears that
Nebuchadnezzar may have recognized God's power in his declaration of Daniel 3:29; as to not saying anything against God; but his own personal understanding appears to have come later as predicted in Daniel 4:25. In our nation revivals in the 1700s seemed to eclipse even George Washington's noteriety with individuals like Whitfield and similar things happened in Europe with the Wesleyan revival.
In both cases from scripture we see the ruler being warned about sin; with Jonah it was just a general declaration of judgment to come; with Nebuchadnezzar a direct plea from Daniel in Daniel 4:27 to turn from sin was given. I believe the same thing
happened with a challenge to a President in our country in the 1800s; maybe someone has that information here.
Proverbs 14:34 explains how sin is a reproach to any nation; which is contrasted by righteousness exalting a nation in the first part of the verse. Truly a nation is made up of individuals; hance as someone comes to faith it may change the balance to
forestall judgment for a time. As with nations; individuals also can extend their lives ( 2 Kings 20:6); and the wicked as a
principle will not live out half their days ( Psalm 55:23). Nahum shows how judgment was only forestalled and delayed not averted; and we can read the rest of Jeremiah to see how Babylon fared; with an end time parallel in Revelation 18.
As we see from the above examples; righteous leadership can bring benefits to all; even if not all individuals are actually saved.
The same principle applies with the wheat and the tares in churches. Some only secretly desire worldly comforts or prestige who surround themselves around repentant saints.
Psalm 19 along with Romans 1 demonstrate that all of the universe testifies to the whole world of the presence of God as well as to His order to the design of the universe. We can; therefore make a transition from the One who created the laws of nature to the written law and statutes ordained by God. (The word statute apparently means a specific enactment of a law).
Some degree of apologetics here is in order to explain the most common objection to the statement of the sun and its apparent movements here on earth. (see also Job 9:7). Often this is dismissed as a superstitious viewpoint of the earth being the center of the universe with the sun revolving around it. When taking into account the movement of our galaxy; for example we see how the sun moves through it's own "circuit" as it were through our local system of stars and how in fact our galaxy moves in its cluster of surrounding galaxies through the universe. So; therefore there is a certain pattern that it has in regard to the bigger picture as the earth has. We also need to remember the verse in Joshua when the sun stopped for a day and the moon ( Joshua 10:13) as well a when the sundial returned back to where it was ( 2 Kings 20:1-11). There are historical accounts as well of supernatural events such as the sun and moon turning dark during the crucifixion in different parts of the world.
Notwithstanding; of course it is clearly not a "bridegroom" as verse 5 indicates; so we need to take symbolic language if literal cannot b taken as should be the rule in all scripture!
Note how law; fear; statutes and judgment are all things which we should think upon. This is the sentiment of verses 9 to 11. We are not given an indication what are "presumtous" sins (v. 13) or "secret faults." (v. 12). We do realize that in meditating on the Lord we are focused on Him and this readiness keeps us from slipping (see meditating day and night verse Joshua 1:8).
This section brings the power of life and death to prominence. After Isaiah's prophecy about King Hezekiah's imminent death; the Lord chose to heed to his prayers and add 15 years to his life. He was also going to give deliverance from Assyria for His own purposes as well as "David's sake" (v. 6). Verses 9-11 show the sign asked for to confirm his healing at the Temple. That was a REVERSAL of the sun's position back to where it was before it was in the incident of Ahaz. That was when the sun AND moon were stopped; i.e. indicating the earth's rotation or a more complex reaction of various orbits or perhaps time itself being held back. Of course; now that the sun is back to where it was previously it takes some diligence searching the historical record for this; I believe some have done this. It surely would be as significant worldwide as the darkness for a few hours when Christ was dying.
The rest of the passage refers to Babylon being shown all the treasure. After the Assyrians eventually turned from appeasement to military foe; one would think such actions would be; as the Prophet Isaiah stated-be an unwise action. Hezekiah's character flaw also would be in not seeking God to delay further His diaspora predicted; instead of just being content that it wouldn't happen in his time. (v. 19). This shows short sightedness in general; especially in light of clear evidence of answered prayer. This is why we should always persevere in prayer and not grow weary in doing good. ( Galatians 6:9).
Interesting that you bring up Hezekiah, the LORD several times put that name in my thoughts. In 2 Chronicles 28:27 - 2 Chronicles 29, 30, 31, Hezekiah did much good. 2 Chronicle 32:30,
I felt a warning also about being like Hezekiah. In 2 Kings 18:16 , Hezekiah "cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the pillars._.' & gave it to the king of Assyira" I asked myself was it to save the people from war? Was it fear? Either way all that sacrifice & peace offering didn't stop the evil nor the attacks. 2 Kings 18:17-32, they even used that against Hezekiah when they mocked. 2 Kings 18:22, 2 Kings 18:29-30, 2 Chronicle 32, Isaiah 36:7-22,
Then Hezekiah came to Isaiah 2 Kings 19:1-5, & sought-after the LORD 2Kings 19:14-16,
Another warning I felt 2 Kings 20:12-18,
& 2Kings 20:19, he seemed unconcerned about the bad consequences Hezekiah himself had caused to his own offspring. 2 Chronicles 32:25-26, 2 Chronicles 32:27,
Hopefully these speak deeper to you as they did me. GOD help us * not give what is HOLY & sanctified to GOD over to enemies, * that we won't cause bad consequences to future generations, * that we will care about future generations & not life ourselves too highly with treasure. Remember Isaiah 1:23, Exodus 32:8, Deuteronomy 16:19,

Sorry to hear that you and your family have suffered with the covid, but also very glad to hear that you, and family members affected, have now recovered. We also praise God along with you for the healing.
I also believe that God created his children to have special talents, including the knowledge to use medicine to heal. God provides us with this knowledge to help ourselves as the following scripture mentions.
Revelation 22:2
"In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."
2 Kings 20:7
"And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered."
Even Jesus acknowledges that we may need a physician:
Matthew 9:12
"But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick."
We Praise God for your recovery, as God continues to use others, and methods (Physicians, pharmaceuticals) to help us in the healing our physical ailments.
It's not over, last night I heard Trump signed the insurrection act. Don't look for confirmation from MSM -Fake news, but wait on the LORD, conditions will dramatically pick-up i.e. The military and special forces arresting Joe Biden and Hunter Biden and thousands of other high profilers.
I believe that God has left the captial. Many have said they have lost faith in God. That is when I tell them the Lord is a gentlemen and will never force Himself on someone. So yes He may have removed us from under his umberall of protection. But we may that choice as a whole. Revelation says we will fae time of trails and great evil. So my suggestion is the keep praying and now pray for next president. Maybe he will get saved. Also remeber this is no suprise to the Lord. He has a plan and we should not go muck it up.
13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Hi Rick, I don't think we lost this country in one day. we've been working hard on that for a long time as a people apart from the politicians, Now hear is a nation HOLY AND CHOSEN. 1st Peter 2:9. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an HOLY NATION, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into a marvelous light; And that is the same nation Jesus mentioned in Mathew 21:43. Therefor say I unto you, the kingdom of God shall be taken from you given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. That's the Church. understanding not clear of tares and leaven as you see in the scriptures, Proverb 16:18. Pride goes before a destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Look at the sin of Sodom as God compares Israel to them in Ezekiel 16:49-50. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore i took them away as I saw good. Now compare that to the early church in Acts 2:44-47.
I'm absolutely disgusted by what I've seen and is hard to feel hopeful by such rampant evil. I was praying for this country to turn around. I think God is letting this country destroy itself and be humbled. God has seen sodomy openly embraced, idolatry of money and power by Washington and the swamp, rewarding criminals and releasing them from prisons, while putting people in prison for protecting themselves and their families or exercising their free speech, attacking of Christians and those with conservative values, openly cheating, lying, and deceiving, and pushing propaganda through the media to deceive the masses. I've never seen anything like this. I trust that God will punish those who need punishing, will allow evil to be exposed and protect those trying to follow Him.
On this day January 6, 2021 we have lost our country to an evil political party. All of us need to pray that God will show us favor and stop this evil from destroying our country.
Heavenly Father, in Jesus's name, I join with this dear soul Teresa to ask healing for her illnesses. You are the healer. You healed when you were on earth. You are the same yesterday, today and forever. You are full of compassion. I ask that you bless Teresa with wisdom, knowledge and a love for you, Lord. Halleluiah! to you be all the glory. Amen and amen
Verse 3 talks about the sons that were of royal descent being taken to Babylon. At 2 Kings 20:16 and 18 he was told that some of his sons would be taken to Babylon. This is one way in which we see that prophecy was fulfilled.
God can heal and extend our lives if we diligently seek Him. Hezekiah benefited from healing of his boils and a 15-year extension of his life by diligently seeking the Lord. He was informed of the wishes of God by Elijah. Today, our Elijah is the Holy Spirit. So, if we want to hear God's Voice, we should seek that the Holy Spirit be in us.
We should always submit to the Almighty God in all things with a humble heart. Always giving HIM thanks for what HE does for us. We are to take advantage of every opportunity to share what HE does for us. There are times what we want is not within HIS will, therefore we should thank HIM and accept it. We must not be haughty or allow pride get in the way of being obedient to the Almighty God
Peggy, Amen Hezekiah was full of pride and short sighted and not as grateful for his healing, length of life, and other victories that GOD gave him. Some biblical scholars believe he lived to long and should have obeyed GOD's plan to call him home when he called. Glory be to GOD in the highest through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
what I learned was focus on healing given and give God the credit, but do not show the enemy
all you have because of this, his healing lead to pride. He was only happy because he would live
in peace rest his life time and gave no thought of his family and those who be left behind and nor did he try to teach them from this. Out if fear of dying he didn't make right choices when give more life.
what ever sinful creator living in your environment self being causing you not to worship God., Put off the old man putting on the new man walking in the spirit of Christ and not of flesh.
this man cried out to the Living God - He wanted life He wanted full assurance that he would go up to the House Of God in 3=Days He would recover from his sickness - God seen his tears What a merciful and caring God
