in the question of how many tablets did moses carry down from Mt Sinai I cannot count but 2 written on both sides no where do i read in 32-15 that he returned and got 2 more he got 2 tablets in 31-18 but it does not say he returned to the camp with them in 32 the people are worried because he had not returned to the camp than they decide to make the golden cafe
Ar, Aaron was just a man led by the Holy Ghost but still a man. Consider the number of miracles the Hebrew people witnessed in Egypt and in the wildernesses and still had hard hearts. Just a few days earlier they made a covenant with God himself and then disrespectfuly broke it. We should consider the evil of the sin in the best of us than realize that without the Holy Ghost of God we can 't lead people, control ourselves, or do anything else. Praise God in the highest through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May Jehovah bless us all in the understanding of his Word. Amen!
James' comment on verses 7 - 14 on Exodus 32 - 9 years ago
The Lord is Sovereign King...that means He is in total authority and repents to no man...He was repenting to Himself for creating mankind who would ultimately disobey and exercise their own desire to live outside God 's will His unending love for us as children of the promise He made to Abraham caused Him to be compassionate toward us and not totally destroy us for our sin against Him. He also saw in our heart the potential for us to live in harmony with Him and each other...which is why He came to Earth as Jesus Christ to give His grace, mercy, and salvation to all who would receive Him as Lord, Savior and soon coming King...we only need to confess and believe with our whole heart!!!
I RECENTLY RECEIVED A WORD,INWHICH THE LORD ASKED ME TO FORGIVE HIM FOR TAKING MY HUSBAND, HIS SON.HE WAS A LOVING CHRISTIAN MAN,HUSBAND AND FATHER WHO DIED OF CANCER FOURTEEN YEARS AGO. I MUST SAY,MINISTRY FOR ME AFTER HIS DEATH, HAD BECOME LIKE A RITUAL AT BEST AND I DISCONNECTED MY HEART. IT WAS SOMETHING WE BOTH SHARED VERY DEEPLY, HELPING OTHERS TO FIND THEIR WAY TO AND WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. SO I WONDERED IF OUR LORD COULD INDEED REPENT OR WAS THIS JUST MY EMOTIONS OUT OF CONTROL. THIS SCRIPTURE CAME TO MIND WHEN THE LORD REPENTED OF THE EVIL OF MAKING MAN IN THE BOOD OF GENESIS AND FOR WANTING TO DESTORY MAN IN THE BOOK OF EXODUS. WHAT A LOVING FATHER WE HAVE, I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR GOD TO REPENT EVEN IF ITS NOT THAT OFTEN.NOW I AM CELEBRATING THE LIFE THAT I AND MY HUSBAND HAD INSTEAD OF GREIVING OVER WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN. ALL THE PEOPLE I TALKED TO THESE LAST FOURTEEN YEARS, COULD NOT UNDERSTAND MY PAIN, BUT IN ONE MOMENT GOD SPEAKS A WORD OF REPENTANCE TO ME AND THATS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED FOR MY HEALING. IT IS JUST THAT PERSONAL TO HIM. THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!
Reading Chapter 32 of Exodus, again and again I have always wondered why Aaron so easily gave in to the people 's request and made the golden cow. He was a chief Levite and had an authority on the people while Moses was away on the Mountain. I wonder if he lost his faith too for a while or he just was tired of the grumbling people?
Your question was off. In Exodus 32 Moses brought down two tablets of stone on which God had written on front and back. These are the tablets which he broke. These were the only two tablets he had been given until chapter 34.
I searched the true meaning of repentance today after reading this verse. Sadly, all along I thought it meant to change from your ways of sin. Gladly I know now that it has to do more with regret and remorse, something Yah sees best. It says He repented he felt remorse for even thinking about destroying the people he had saved. Hallelu Yah! I 'm not surprised being made in His own image that he feels remorse. As mortals, when someone you love and have sacrificed so much for does something and sometimes you forget all that you have shared and want to take drastic measures. It makes me love Him more. Yah is not capable of sin though, what he was going to do was the natural response to His 'heartbreak '. He repented of the disaster He planned to unleash on His people. What gets me excited is the relationship Moses had with Him to enable him make the Creator feel bad about wanting to destroy his creation. I want that relationship. God must see purity in me to draw me close to him. I must follow his commands to make him stand the sight of me. He must see humility to be able to show me all of Him.
Delay is not a denial. The isrealities forgot quickly the God who brought them from Egypt from the house of bondage. They looked for an alternative and replaced Him with a lesser god who can 't save or deliever. Moses represented a great leader. He told God to wipe out his name instead of punishing the people. God can 't be late because He created time. Looking for alternatives outside God because we feel He is delaying in answering us will only make the situation worse.
This Chapter shows the supremacy of the love of God for man over our sinful nature perpetually provoking Him by satanic worship and idolatry. His love for mankind continues . How i wish men will know that God so love us and that He alone should be our object of adoration.His loving-kindness is better than life(Psalm,63:3)
@Shante:,
Israeli women were wearing earrings, but consider what came out of it. They donated ornaments to make a molten calf and worshiped it. And 3000 were slain from among them. Besides this also, the New Testament reminds us not to outward adorning but to beautify hidden man of heart. 1 Peter 3:3-5. God bless.
@Brad Holland,
To study the differences between the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) and the other versions is something you should do with diligence ( Hebrews 11:6; 2 Timothy 2:15) and I believe you will conclude that the King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is the only inspired word of God as I have. As for the vulgate text it is from the Alexandria manuscripts (Egypt) Latin based that the catholic church uses for their version translated by origen and others that is proven to be corrupt by most honest and true bible translators. The King James Version 1611 (authorized version) is translated from the manuscripts of Antioch ( Acts 11:26) (Textus Receptus) where you will find that most honest and true translators conclude to be correct. As for the original text there are no original texts and when someone can produce them I might start altering my thinking on this subject. God is never to concern about the originals, see what god does with originals and how he preserves his word ( Exodus 32:19, Exodus 34:1; Psalms 12:6,7; Matthew 24:35; Peter 1:19) more original writings ( Jeremiah 30:1, Jeremiah 36:27, 28, 32). God has preserved his word in the King James Version 1611 (authorized version). When a person comes to conclusion that all versions are of God they have not studied the scriptures with diligence. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways ( James 1:8). There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end there of is the ways of death ( Proverbs 14:12; 2 Timothy 2:15).
@Melchor,
This is in no way insane or rude. It is rather GOD using analogy, just as Stan Sykes has said.
Of course I’m not sure if those things could be said publicly as the prophet does, (with regard to the customs and manners of the time)…
But in so many instances, the Bible calls idolatry as prostitution ( Exodus 32:25) and in many other places. So the prostitution here refers to idolatry which sometimes included disordered sex or even orgies as commended by the priest of the gods of the nations which Israel submitted himself to.
Now the fact that GOD through the Prophet goes that far as to private organs is another figure of speech, GOD using the reasoning of the prostitute, to get attention from the prostitute.
If those things were openly spoken of, or were common place, that’s ok. But if they were not, which means the prophet is coming rude… That’s another figure of speech, I try to find the Greek name, but my connection is so bad this evening. However, the translation in English is Excess, which means saying bad things, even scandalous ones to get one’s attention… We have it in African languages, like in Lingala we call that figure of speech ‘’KOSANZA’’ which translates ‘’ to spew (I’m very sure if that how it should be written) or to vomit’’ which means saying bad shocking things, even purely rude insane nonsense to shock and get everybody ashamed, shut up and leave.
thank you,
Len
Where are verses 1-24?

So there is nothing bad or strange in that.
