    There are two kinds of people all over the world, the righteous and the wicked. The righteous do the right thing always while the wicked desire in doing evil. Therefore, a choice is placed before us. God wants his chidren to do the right thing when others are doing wrong. Let your light shine.

  • André on Psalms 1 - 12 years ago
    @Veronica,
    The congregation that it is about in Psalms 1 is not linked to any place or building, but rather a union of hearts, people that walk together in the same mind, that share same faith, same doctrine, same practice.
    Otherwise the Bible says we are the temple of God, and with that leaders of the church should worship where is best for them, taking into account their need for concentrating in prayer and other people’s need for quiet.
    God bless you.

    Have you ever notice the various "postures" described in this Psalm? Standing, sitting, walking, way...this is more than just practical, it is the "inside" of us that needs to be aware.

    Keep the law of God and you will greatly be blessed is what this chapter is telling you. If you sin and do not keep the law of God you will not even be worth judging and will die with the rest of the sinners and Satan when the Lord comes for his children.

    Coming from a very trying background which came also, with very unhealthy habits, Psalm 1 always lifts me up in the face of temptation. When the temptation to turn to my old way of living hits me hard, Psalm 1 hits me even harder, thanks to my Lord Jesus for deliverance.

    To live an abundant life is to know what God requires from you and produce it[even out of season -remember the fig tree that Christ cursed]. l like it when God establishes and prospers you. You bear fruit at YOUR own season not the ordinary season or the season of conditions and circumstances prevailing around you. The fig tree cursed by Christ was supposed to bear fruit in its own season when the Master required it not in the ordinary season of the other trees around. So it is with one whose delight is in His law. Amen.

    The entire content of this Psalm is summarized in Romans 6: 23 for the wages of sin is death, it says and it gives God's alternative that 'the gift of God is eternal life'. That gives more emphasis to Psalm 1.

    I agree with all of the above comments. But Eunice's comment is confirmation of scripture I've been thinking on. All things are lawful, but all things are not expedient (does not edify)

    I interpret Psalms 1 as saying that the individual that seek his/her way through the Word of God will be blessed; and, if we seek man's way according to natural understanding (to the flesh)we will perish. We need to seek and ask God to make us holy and to lead us in His way.
