If you repeat a sin multiple times, does this make you unforgivable and condemn you to hell?
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Dear Failure,

In answer to your concern, we have the forgiveness of sins because of Jesus' death and resurrection. When a disciple of Jesus asked Him how many times to forgive a brother, 7 times? Jesus said, 70 times 70. In saying this it indicates that we are to keep on forgiving just as He keeps on forgiving us, even if we are trapped in a repetitive sinful habit. Confessing whenever you fall into this sin, you can be assured that God forgives every time. Also, please know that you can ask the Holy Spirit who lives in you to help you overcome this habit. He is powerful over entrenched sin; we are not. So we need to depend on the Holy Spirit to deliver and release one from the old this particular sin has on a person. Praying wit someone in agreement is recommended by Scripture.

    Hope this helps

Failure Just to help you in understanding what God did for us in forgiveness of sins by Jesus Christ

and making it available to walk by the spirit is all Grace, Gods Job. You committing to continue in your

renewed mind Romans 12:2 is your job to put on the Word and do the scripture. God is not going to make you do that

to do that because he doesn't control us but what you sew is still what you reap.

Failure No but the question is since Jesus Christ led what ever Captivates or drives our natural man captive

obviously you need to Go to God for self control deliverance in this part of your life style. Therefore to be healed

youneed to make up your mind to believe because in Christ its already been done. Faith was Gods Part through

Christ Jesus, believing is action on what has already been given in the Gift of Holy Spirit.

What about in Hebrews 10:26 where is states, "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins." and in Galatians 5:19-21 where it states, " Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."

Hi "Failure". The Scriptures are clear about believers in Christ no longer walking in the lusts of the flesh but walking (receptive, in harmony) with the Spirit in you ( Galatians 5:16,17: "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would"; Romans 8:13,14).

When we live in the flesh, i.e. leading lives that are habitually given over to sin, unconcerned about dealing with it by the power of the Holy Spirit, then we would be right in questioning the genuineness of our faith & love for God. But the battle is always on: the lusts of the flesh vs the desires to live to please God. When we're fully convinced that we'd rather live for God & not for sin & seeking the help & power of the Spirit, then His Power will be greater than our weakness. The fact that we do sin now, is simply because we enjoy the sin or want to pursue it. If we remain guarded, very rarely will sin overtake us suddenly, especially in the more overt sins that involve others. Even drunkenness, gluttony, gossip, lying, pride, etc. are all sins that we might want to do & hold dear to us & our make-up. But when we hate those sins, we will seek to take hold of the Spirit to combat them & more so, when we see the sin knocking at our door. The Spirit is there to empower us - to withstand the temptation to give in. We can also overcome that sin by pursuing another course, e.g. move away from that situation or person, replace the temptation with something good/wholesome, going straight into the Word & prayer. The Lord is always there - it's our choice to whom we appeal to: to fleshly desires or to the spirit ( Romans 6:16-23).

Hebrews 10:26. If you read the whole chapter, the sin being spoken of is about those from Judaism who want to appeal to the old sacrifices instead of Christ's Sacrifice (v29) - it doesn't work - that's sin.

Failure The real question here is where the focus should be, you dealing with your shortfalls, or thinking its o.k.

and God will cover. Here's the problem, God has already done everything there is to do by Jesus Christ ,but if

you or I choose go against what He has done their is no Inheritance or rewards for you or I. You also don't reap the benefits of walking by the spirit because you decide to walk by the flesh which is corrupt. So there is no more

that God cab do its up to you to believe and change in your habits, or your conscience because your conscience

it your developed habit patterns. Your habit patterns will be either based on scripture the new man or the old man

nature which by the way is dead. So if you read this and are aware then why do you do what you do or are you

asking ways to help you stop. By the way this is not a game played between God the adversary and you. You

have to make up your mind!
