Paul was dealing with an extreme instance of fornication as well as the respect of a person. My biggest takeaway is not to eat with any "brother" who is not wholeheartedly following God. It seems to me that this chapter is in conflict with 1 Corinthians 13. Can anyone explain?
I understand chapter 5 as what should be done to a 'brother' that is living in sin... key word is brother...turned over to Satan to be chastised even if it means death to his body so that he can be broken to the point of repentance and restored to his former standing in Christ. An unrepentant brother should never be aloud to take communion in his sinful state...
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. such as one: was a man that wanted his fathers wife. May not have been his mother or may have. The spirit is never lost when it is given. God can take it back if we sin. But the body still can be cast into hell.
there are so called christians, that preach the good book, but dont observe what they say, hypocrites to the word. they cause corruption in the church, we see this today and the church still covers it up, they talk the talk but they in the end do nothing. ruins it for the honest ones, clearly states they should be removed, and not to break bread with them
True Born-again Believers Can Not have Demons within The Holy Spirit is There. Demons Can Cause a lot of Problems for The Believer. We Know that Whosoever is Born of God Sinneth Not----- And that Wicked One Toucheth Him Not( 1John 5:18) In Matthew 12:43-45 Talks of One Being Empty. Picture of a Unsaved Person Looking Like a Believer. Then Their Demon Comes Back With More. And do The Unbelievable
They have let the sin go to far. Letting a sinner among you parading his fathers wife as his own. Christ says he has to go! Maybe in order to be saved! Surely. Others that are watching and learning will not sin in that way, it’s scandalous.
Question: when reading this scripture can anyone tell me : Are people told they cannot come into a church building, having already ask to have their church membership removed and had been granted their request.
The KJV SAYS the kingdom of GOD IS GONNA BE WITHIN YOU NOT IN YOUR MISTS. AN EXTERNAL KINGDOM WD BE NO THREAT TO SATAN.HE HAS TO BE WITH IN US.AS JESUS SAYS ABIDE IN ME AND I IN YOU,OUR BODIES ARE HIS TEMPLE HE SAYS HE DWELLETH WITH YOU BUT SHALL BE IN YOU. Simply b/c that kingdom seed his WORD is sown in our hearts not in our mists,That mystery of the kingdom of GOD is Christ in you .GBU
Jesus answered Luke 17:20When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied,“The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs. 21Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.â€it is by "faith" Eph 2:1-10 and "grace" in Jesus Accomplishing it all, His last words on the cross were 'it is finished"
Paul is showing his love for him? Of course, he's evidently outraged by the unclean spirit being able to breach the wall of grace and protection! How about love for holiness and virtue? The point is NOT once saved always saved; but extreme alarm of danger of eternal destruction for letting sin back in! Giving one over to Satan for destruction in order to POSSIBLY save that one, is no guarantee!
Found Sheep; I don't know how you come up with that from this Scripture? The whole point is that God hates sin, especially in those whom He has saved and given EVERY provision for new life. NO FORNICATOR will enter the kingdom of God! In the days of Noah many millions knew at one time, but forsook the LORD for love of the world and selfish gain and perished! We must endure to the end to be saved!
This scriptures 1 Cor. 5 it's a perfect proof of ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED. Paul's letter is to already saved Christians as he addresses them in 1 Cor.5 , 1-2 so we know for fact that the saint was having relation with his step mother. Further in 2 Cor. Paul is showing his love toward him. Again this passage is OSAS proof. Found Sheep
2 Corinthians 6 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you. A born again child of God will not hang with unbeliever and sin. We can judge the believers with Love and prayer, but we can not judge the lost, that will be God's doing.
1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. we must pray from brother and sisters in Christ that are fallen. God will take care of all of that. We need to continue to love with all our hearts. Praise the Lord for forgiveness.
We are instructed to judge but using God's Word as our standard, not our own convictions, sins, etc. BUT...we are warned that if we are to judge that we must be prepared to be judged in the same fashion. Not only do we need to examine our motives during said judging but we also need to make sure that we are doing so in the spirit of reconciliation. We need to pray, edify and lift up the stumbling.
I feel like in our day now we are repeating Sodom and Gomorrah! I sincerely pray for our country our world for repentance and not forget who God is and His wrath
1 Corinthians 5:1 the man was having sex with his Fathers wife. The answer is to deliver that man unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved. This shows that the man is saved, or can be saved. This verse corresponds with Leviticus 20:11. Leviticus 20:13 is about sodomites, I believe that they can be saved, because the person in Leviticus 20:11 can be.
I need to clarify something; I'm not judging Jews; I was simply pointing out something about the star they use to anyone who may wonder about it. I give out info'; I don't judge. Jesus loves His PEOPLE more than I do - and I do love and pray for them; Pray for the PEACE of Jerusalem. There are those who judge - without considering the circumstances. GB
Matt. 7, and following, Judge not that you be not judged. Talking about hypocrisy. Chastising someone and being in worse spiritual condition than the accused. A speck in their eye and a log in the accusers eye. The object of judging is righteous judgment, as Christ. He did the will of His Father, in righteous judgment. Always pray for the struggling brother and sister. Uplift and edify. GB
Steve is absolutely right! It is a gross misunderstanding, to think that we aren't supposed to judge one another in matters of sin. The Law is; "You shall not hate your neighbor in your heart; but shall in any wise rebuke your neighbor, and not allow sin upon him." Wasn't it the hypocrite Pharisees' willful neglect of judging among themselves, that incurred the Lord's Woes? We must guard the Holy!
WE - are not to judge anyone, in or out of Jesus' church. That is God's business WITH His shepherd. Pastors in the truth pray over a soul in the wrong and God gives him the message for that soul - which includes all the church as a warning - and GOD puts the conviction into the sinners heart and, he/she will either repent or leave. Nor is the person ever - named.
