No, for a TRUE Christian, His life is a struggle for all. There are no 'easy life' Christians. There are physical AND mental struggles. There are, indeed, easy life people in mainstream 'churches'.
  • Felicia on 1 Corinthians 5 - 7 years ago
    Verse 5
It will be a suffocating experience for a true Christian to be cut off from the church communion from all the visible means of grace from God's influence from His covering and to be handed over back to the world to be under the power of Satan again. I pray we'll not sin deliberately however if we did we would quickly turn to Jesus and repent and He is faithful to forgive us all our sins.
  • Linda on 1 Corinthians 5 - 7 years ago
For some living the God centered life comes quick and easy. For others it is one step foreword aND 2 steps back. We need to love those that are in the struggle and encourage them to seek and trust in the Lord. This is a battle the enemy will not give up easily. And if he does give up on you, you need to ask why. Maybe you are not a threat to him. Godbless.
  • Farhana/Faustina on 1 Corinthians 5 - 8 years ago
through holiness Our Lord entered the flesh and became one among us and came to save us, but beware the Devil who is the enemy, enters the flesh through sin so that he may destroy us.
  • Wayne on 1 Corinthians 5 - 8 years ago
Ahuwa, if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with the other, and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanses from all sin. Wages of sin, death: gift of God Eternal Life!!! No judgment for the redeemed of God. Just blessings. Get right, live right, stay right with The Lord!

  • Delvin Walters on 1 Corinthians 5 - 9 years ago
The scripture guides us on how we should stay away from sin even if its mean that we will loose some of our friend by not indulge in the sinful things of the world (glory to god in the highest)
  • Robin on 1 Corinthians 5 - 9 years ago
Don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch.
  • Ahuwa Chiamakajessica on 1 Corinthians 5 - 9 years ago
God is going to judge us for our sins
  • Don felipe on 1 Corinthians 5 - 9 years ago
Because of the church's failure to obey God's word we are reaping the whirlwind of man's inhumanity to man and man's rebellion against the creator. God have mercy.
  • Stephende on 1 Corinthians 5 - 9 years ago
A short little chapter relates the ugly truth of the corruption of many who live after the flesh. We know that the mortal flesh will be destroyed, dust to dust, and that the soul also is mortal, and salvation if conditional. For we are judged in the hereafter by a righteous judge, who has forewarned us whom we shall fear in this world. Not him who can kill the body only, but him who has the power to cast into hell.
  • Monique on 1 Corinthians 5 - 9 years ago
Its perfect timing! God intervened in a situation as I prayed He would.
  • Paul Reeves on 1 Corinthians 5:5 - 9 years ago
In this Scripture it says his spirit may be saved. In the intent of the word may, I looked it up with Strongs Concordance and it is conditional. In this the person has to repent to be restored back to fellowship in order his spirit be saved. Another words it 's not a guarantee the his spirit will be saved it is conditional.
  • Amber T. on 1 Corinthians 5 - 10 years ago
It seems hard to break fellowship with such a one, fornicator, idolatar, railer, drunkard, when such a one is your own parent. But, for all my care to my Dad, trying to be Christ like example in all I did, I only ended up falling and sinning. Then he called me up and "cast out my name as evil " for my witness Jesus managed through me when I didn 't sin! The LIRD GOD ALMIGHTY has shown me that I only paid the price for not heeding what HE clearly related to me right here. And that being cast out for my LORD JESUS CHRIST is a cause for rejoicing and singing praise and thanksgiving from my heart! Showing me dads hurting me was yruely for my good in HIM. I cam say I am blessed and Divinely favored, and that was one of the best things ever happened to me, for all that oppression from an abusive dad is over and I am free to serve JESUS! PRAISE YAHWEH!

  • Lucille Clemmons on 1 Corinthians 5 - 10 years ago
Straight to the point, lets you know exactly whats right, or which way to go. Because it will be God 's way or no way, Listen to the word of God, he will not lead you wrong, Only the enemy can do that, as I have often heard, you can 't serve to masters. Either you will love one and hate the other! I choose God!
  • Matthew Chapter 5 on 1 Corinthians 5 - 10 years ago

  • Dave Lazerow on 1 Corinthians 5:5 - 10 years ago
Temptation to take part in fornication is always a danger When we think that we are immune to immorality often comes the test and we feel torn wanting to satisfy the craving of our natural bodies and the new life in the Spirit One thought can lead to other others down error road and and the natural inclinations take over Keeping our minds shielded from sin through the mind of Christ is the only way we can defeat the lusts of the flesh Thanks be to God that He has put the mind of Christ into us so we can recall his life giving words of power The cross is painful but necessary What do you think
  • Darren Otey on 1 Corinthians 5:7 - 10 years ago
I feel that God is saying that we are to remove our old selves and allow Him to put in Him However this is just a thought of mine I want to thank you for this site because I am only a KJV person Could you give me info on how to debate or stand my ground on this true translation
  • Herman on 1 Corinthians 5 - 11 years ago
This also is in tune with what we let influence is. Everything we see, hear, even touch has a great influence on what we think of next. The more a "little" bad influence pulls us away from the"truth",the less we recognize what bad influence is and what it can do to us as Christians.
  • KBilly Manuel on 1 Corinthians 5:6 - 11 years ago
A little evil goes a long way and has a great influence on those who are ignorant of God's Word.
  • Moses homtapwa on 1 Corinthians 5:5 - 11 years ago
prayer of beliver is power enough to save any sinner. 1cor 5:5 deliver such people for the destruction of flesh, it may be related to 1 john 5:16-17 do not pray for those whose sins is unto death. 2cor 5:1 if the flesh is destroy we have an enternal one in heaven.
  • Eunice on 1 Corinthians 5:6 - 11 years ago
when we get ourselves into sins that are considered small, we might not know when we get deeply rooted in it which will eventually lead to destruction.
  • Shanilah on 1 Corinthians 5 - 11 years ago
I have love these scriptures especially verse 13 “But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.” Again the bible in 1 Corinthians 3:16 says Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Apostle Paul is encouraging the temples of the Holy Ghost (you and I) to check yourselves and get out those wicked behaviors and habits that you are still practicing even after confessing that Jesus is My Lord and saviour and put them away from the temple which the holy spirit dwells. So brethren, before chasing any brethren first look through yourself and let go those wicked habits and then the name of the Lord will be Glorified in the mighty name of Jesus. JESUS IS LORD AND GOD IS LOVE. God bless.
  • R. D. Mattock on 1 Corinthians 5 - 11 years ago
Verse 13 "Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person." The purpose of discipline “is to maintain standards to a watching world Mathew 5:13-16”. Keep sin from spreading throughout the church 1 Corinthians 5:6-7 Help the person find his way back to God 2 Corinthians 2:6-8. It is to escape God’s two fold judgment upon habitually sinning saints. 1 Corinthians 11:30 deals with Sickness; and 1 Corinthians 11:30 deals with Physical death. We are to view the individual as an erring brother and not a bitter enemy. 2 Thessalonians 3:15 “Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” We are to approach him with sorrow and not sarcasm, 1 Corinthians 5:2. We are to be ready to forgive him when repentance occurs, 2 Corinthians 2:7.
  • Harry on 1 Corinthians 5:11 - 11 years ago
The main thing here is not to base your ministry on man’s teaching. We test the spirits with the written word, not just John 4:1. Every topic has to be tested with the written word under its own topic to get a clear test on. Far too many will hear a teaching on a topic and go by it, rather than going by what the word states. Matthew 6 is a good example; we hear about all the prosperity teachings, on how much someone gave and what he got in return. The scripture tells us not to advertise. That is a ploy to entice people to give more. Not sparing the flock, these people get robbed in the name of the Lord, for trusting in man’s teaching.
  • Cheryl on 1 Corinthians 5 - 12 years ago
This makes it clear as a lot of pastor preach and teach not to judge anyone before the time , but this scripture makes it clear to judge the ones in the church and tells you to remove the wicked form among you 2 Timothy 2:15 states : study to show thyself approved, rightly dividing the word of truth. The truth shall set you free.
  • Roy on 1 Corinthians 5 - 12 years ago
It clearly gives us a command. Come out from among them who are not of God. Remembering that we may have being like them as we were all sinners saved by the grace of God. We must understand if we continue among those who practise those types of sins it is easy for our good nature to be contaminated, not forgetting by our company we shall be known. It is very easy for our good nature to be tarnished and our nature changed by who we associate with.
  • Takirid on 1 Corinthians 5 - 12 years ago
I notice in v9 apostle Paul said in my letter I wrote you to quit mixing with fornicators and then v10 he says not meaning entirely with the fornicators of this world or the greedy person and extortioners or idolaters. Otherwise, you would actually have to get out of the world. v11 says. But now I am writing you to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolator or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man v12 For what do I have to do with judging those on the outside? Do you not judge those on the inside v13 while God judges those outside? "Remove the wicked man from among yourselves" After reading these verses it is clear what Paul was saying. Keeping the congragation clean removing those who call themselves our spiritual brothers or sisters, and sad to say it also means those who are related to us in the flesh. But Gods word gives us hope John 3:16 "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. The Bible sets before us the prospect of eternal life in perfection if we put faith in Yehovah's provisions for life and walk in his ways.

    Regarding Carolyn's 1 Corinthians Chapter 5 comment on 9/13/2011, 1:56pm...
Whether she is involved with him sexually or not, her living conditions are suspect. "Avoid all appearance of evil." So, she should move out before joining the church. If she is living with him because she has no place to go and wants to move out, you or someone should offer her a place to stay or consider remaining silent about her living conditions.
