In the Old Testament, homosexuality was condemned by God with the punishment of death.
Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
This same thought is supported in the New Testament.
Rom 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
I agree with your friend. When you say "I'm not sure," are you saying that you're not sure your friend is telling you the truth, or, are you not sure that what you read in the bible about the subject is correct?
Whenever someone shares something with a believer concerning the bible, the believer has a responsibility to search the scriptures to see for themselves if what they are being told is true. Please know that I'm not trying to be rude. I am simply challenging you to search the scriptures for the truth. I can share scripture with you about what the bible teaches on homosexuality, but unless you search the scriptures for yourself, how are you going to know what I'm telling you is true? How do you even know if what your friend told you is true unless you search the scriptures?
I don't know if you read the bible or not, or if you do, how much you've read of it, but if you've not read it at all and need help finding specific verses on God's view of sexual immorality, I would be happy to share those with you. I'm sure others would be happy to help also.
1Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Romans 12:1-2
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Ask yourself am I being Holy.? Am I being transformed ?
To be conformed is taking on the shape of an object such as jelly in a bowl. To be transformed is taking on a completely new form such a catapiller being transformed into into a butterfly. Why would someone come to Jesus for salvation from the evils of this world and all that is sinful and still desires that which occupies the sinners world and mind.
If there is no desire in my heart to want the sincere milk of the word of God with a corresponding desire to follow and obey its teachings I would have to question the reality of my conversion.
Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God
Nor will he ever enter therein.
God saves and forgives sin of those who genuinely follow and obey Him. But the fact that you're asking this says to me that you think it's wrong. If you think it's wrong why continue to do it? If you're a Christian why not do everything you can to please God and treat your body as a holy temple? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Matthew 5:30
I have to agree with Chris. My personal opinion is if they going to be together, living together, sharing a bed together, it seems this is a relationship whether intimate or not no matter what age they are. It might not only hurt your witnessing going forward but also puts a stain on your past testimonies. Marriage may be considered.
But is it just a situation of clean living before God, or does this apply before others? Or, how do other people (both believers & unbelievers) perceive this life choice? Is it then a case of 'who cares what people think as long as I'm living correctly before God?'
1 Thessalonians 5:32 tells us to "Abstain from all appearance of evil." Even though within the house, nothing is 'out of order', but can that relationship be misconstrued as inconsistent with godly living? Is our testimony shaken or destroyed because of it? Is it a big issue to have that love that is shared with each other ratified by a simple Registry Wedding, so no one is left in doubt & there be no 'behind the back small talk' against you? Though marrying at that age might bring on other comments of which one should have no concern.
So this lifestyle really comes down to a personal decision as a Christian, but where all the issues are carefully considered & no opportunity for sin, or the appearance of it, exists before God & man. Others here might have other views to share on this.
they can't?
32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Never Leave You or forsaken You - iam
Proof of that - we are the ones that Leave him.
Because we take our eyes of Christ Jesus and Look
And Listen to the world. Read what Peter did in the
fishing boat in the middle of the strom when he called
to Jesus who was Walking on the WATER. WHEN YOU
TAKE YOUR EYES OFF CHRIST YOU FALL !!!
KJV -Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
NIV - Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body,
but whoever sins sexually,
sins against their own body.
That brings up another thorny issue. Homosexuality as a "choice" is one thing. However, genetics can confuse sexual identity as well! These persons are the most complex and should NOT be confused with persons who CHOSE the life. Genuine Genetic homosexuals must trust Christ for their Salvation and their sanity. Every ones walk with Christ is personal and God gives GRACE! The most important thing to say to God to keep from GIVING HIM UP is this...LORD, you know my failings. But in spite of MY failings I will Always Declare YOU ARE RIGHT AND HOLY! FOR BETTER OR WORSE I THROW MYSELF ON YOUR MERCY. AMEN.
This declaration from your heart will help you to cling to God when OTHER CHRISTIANS SAY "YOU" HOMOSEXUALS are Not Worthy. GOD is able and willing to keep you SAVED if you declare HIM to be RIGHT. Christ Died for you, those Christians did not. Satan wants you to abandon God, because Satan wants to drive you insane.
One day our flesh will no longer be at odds with God's Spirit [in] us. Because as Paul says when this flesh goes back to dust, we will receive our SINLESS GLORIFIED BODIES! ALLELUYAH!!!
Thank You
From the time of Israel's exodus out of Egypt, they learned which day was the actual Sabbath: Exodus 16:25-27, when they found no manna on the ground on that day. Ever since then, the count was on: 6 days work - 1 day rest, right up to the time of Jesus when He observed the same Sabbath, indeed He did 'work' in it, saying that the Sabbath was created for man & not the other way around.
So the Sabbath was a specific day of rest for the Jews. And it could fall on that day as well, or any other day, for non-Jews. The important point was that man took the day off to cease from his labours for both physical & spiritual recuperation. Where this observance becomes a problem for Christians, is the compulsion by some that we too are bound to a Jewish Saturday Sabbath, & by extension, full obedience to the Law, which none could keep. This Law was not a sign to Christians but to the Jew who was under the Law. Hear what Paul says pertaining to the Law & the Christian: Romans 3:19-22; Galatians 3:21-25; Galatians 4:21-26; Galatians 5:16-18.
If the Christian then sets aside Sunday, the Lord's Day ( Revelation 1:10) as a day of rest & worship, he fulfils the need for both. If he chooses any other day as a rest day, does it matter to the Lord? Colossians 2:16,17. If one believes that the keeping of the Sabbath does matter to the Lord, then he shows a misunderstanding of the Law engraven in stones & the Law of the Life-giving Spirit ( Romans 8:2).
I have just woken up, and read Those precious inspirational verses and I thank God and His Beloved Son Jesus Christ. I am inspired by your diligence and commitment to the verse of the day. Let me begin with stating I am a welder by trade non the less I read God's word and study as best as I can.i pray for God's Holy Spirit to lead me into all truth.my question is this when the Heavens and the earth were created in 6 days God created the Heavens and the earth and on the 7 the day God rested from His work
..can you even try to imagine or fathom how God did creat the Heavens and the earth and specifically put aside one day ."The 7 th day Sabbath try to imagine the awesome event and the Adam and Eve were created and they were commanded to do the same to rest on the Sabbath day.now I cannot even try to explain the importance of the 7th day Sabbath .A simple analogy ,when a person is born can he change his birthdate to another day and if so why would he do so in the first place ? Fact is it can't be done and has never been done. So the same with creation .so why would God authorise the ,7th day to be substituted with the first day of the week as the IST day Sabbath the day of rest.there a verse in the Bible God says not one dot or tittle shall be changed in the Bible. Could you please give me your view point on the Sabbath. ,and may I ask further questions regarding the 7 the day Sabbath.
Kind Regards
Rodney Edwards
It's beginning and the multitudes of people that lost their lives and the so many people deceived by it .
I have no sympathy for it .
When you look at how moronic it is under the Holy Spirits teaching , it just shows how much the devil can blind the minds of men .
Some would use that verse against those today who have taken up the 'fashion' of tattooing & piercings, though it wasn't the intention of that command from God as in those days it would have been done for recognition of "the dead" & other occultic purposes (verses 26 & 31). So, whether God looks at the present day markings as sin, only God can declare that.
However, other issues come into play here for the Christian: as you said, we are no longer our own but now the purchased of God & Temples of the Holy Spirit. As well, whenever we do things, such as these, the clothes we wear, the places we visit, the people we associate with, what we fill our minds with & many more, are matters that every child of God has to seriously consider as we live on this Earth & bear witness to His Name. If the believer is walking in the Spirit, he/she would soon know in his/her spirit, how he/she should live before God & others. Personally, I find it difficult to believe that a Christian could honestly justify tattoos & piercings as of little godly consequence & consider it a thing of beauty before the Lord. It smacks of vanity & desiring to be identified with the crowd. We are to identify ourselves with our Saviour & to walk carefully & humbly before our God ( Ephesians 4:17).
So being one is nothing unusual in the scriptures. Take a peek .
Read Psalm 149
Even Jesus said he would cause the false brethren to bow at our feet .
Onward Christian soldiers !
11 - And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 - And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 - But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Matthew 10:22
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
What does he who endureth to the end mean?
But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.
But he who goes through to the end will get salvation.
But he that has endured to the end, he shall be saved.
But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.
But those who stand firm to the End shall be saved.
But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.
Praise God, Thank You Jesus.
10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Praise God we have been washed clean by the precious blood of Jesus and are now totally sanctified, justified & redeemed because of the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:29-30 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Galatians 2:20 King James Version (KJV) 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. That is what Christ has done for us, in us and who we are in Jesus Christ. What Glorious Salvation.
