Thank YOU LORD for YOUR word that gives us YOUR perfect will in our motives and practices as we await YOUR return to earth.

May we be be prayerful for our leadership in DC and all the local authority YOU have ordained and placed in offices. Romans 13:1-3

LORD, bless YOUR saints to be powerful witnesses unto the lost and hard hearted.

GOD to shine HIS face on the works of our hands, and our prayers as we worship and praise CHRIST JESUS daily.

God has not changed , it was man's disobedience that brought about his death .

It is by man's obedience to the gospel do they live .

In truth when a person is truly BORN again he enters into that eternal will of God preordained from before the foundations of the world .

This is to no one in particular:

Indeed 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 is the written gospel. You read it but NOW it is up to everyone to obey the gospel which is what Jesus spoke in John 3:3-5. Also Matthew 28:19 is fulfilled bc it is in the name of. No one was ever water baptized in the book of Acts by father, son, & Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 is the New Testament salvation message. Water baptism remits your sins. Matthew 26:28 says the same.

We need the Holy Ghost power. Lo & behold, not everyone has the Holy Spirit just bc they believe. That's just not true. Ppl must stop making a doctrine from one verse. For ex: John 3:16 is true, however we must all start at the beginning of the chapter. And there we find what Jesus Christ spoke on in John 3:3-5, for without it we can not enter into the kingdom of heaven. All the ppl in the book of Acts were told to repent & be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Romans 10:9 is an example---call on the name of the Lord. Read Matthew 26:28, Jesus spoke, "For this is my blood of the New testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins". Hallelujah & Amen

I love God & his truth

There are 4 Gospel accounts written about Jesus' ministry Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. That might be the reason John's record is after the other 3. It's more deep into study, to understand John better, much study & reading the Bible Old Testament, has helped me.

John 2:2, translated from Greek means atonement, related to Romans 5:11, Leviticus 23:27-32,

    Hopefully this is helpful

Why did John talk as above your knowledge that you did not understand what he was saying here ?
  • Suze - In Reply on 1 John 2 - 2 years ago
Hi Robert , I know how you feel , it can be hard sometimes to keep ourselves spotted from this world , we are physical creatures and live through our senses , sight sound etc , it requires effort and determination to move away from the sensual input of this life and just find time to be quite and alone with our Dear Heavenly Father . Mornings are a quiet time for me so I say my prayers and think about what I've recently read in the Bible . I don't know where you are but I bet there are Christian organisations somewhere near you that would love you to help them out a bit , or...you could become a regular on here smiley face , there's plenty of good things to read and you might want to do a bit of posting also , my advice ? Try not to get entangled in pointless circular debated on here , keep it brief and simple and clear , I don't always stick to my own rules though I do try to smiley face , much love to you in Christ .

Dear "Robert DeHaan", in peace. You're probably not the only one who's becoming a TV slave these days. I myself try to do what the Lord expects of me. Read and pray for all people, rulers, kings and Israel, peace be upon Jerusalem. And you probably do too.

Everything takes its time, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Even though we are retired, time is short. It goes so fast during the day, suddenly one has passed, the month has passed, the year has passed. But i think we should comfort ourselves with: Romans 1:16-17 for example. Then i can thank the Lord that. That time is over. Young people's hustle and bustle and think of everything they should have and done.

See in the conscience, is it good? All good hopefully. But i wish i could spend all my time with the Lord. It will be as our dear Paul says, Romans 7:19

Then it's good to come here on the web and know we have someone who has it like us. Pray and be present. There is always something. Witness outside standing, as soon as i get an opportunity in time and out of time. 2 Timothy 4:2 and continue to pray. Ill think it is a service, and could sit back and be the one present. Always ready and reach out a hand, in Jesus name right? That is the hope we have, to be enveloped in the love of God in Jesus Christ now and forever.

Stand strong brother and if i cant see u in this life. I see u in next. God bless us in Jesus name, Love u in Christ.

The world we currently live in draws even strong Christians to question who they truly love. I myself need to constantly remember this WORLD IS NOT MY HOME. I am retired and disabled which causes me with plenty of free time to explore things that are not Godly. I struggle with watching too much television at times. There truly is to much filth in new shows and movies. I want to live fully for Jesus each day. I have children and grandchildren who have nothing to do with God as far as I can see. I pray that somehow or some way they would be exposed to the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus. I value other Christians prayer.

    Hi again Ravina.

To put it in context with the verse you supplied and to be direct.

I begin with "Sin" separates us from God.

Jesus is to you, me and the WHOLE world the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 2:2.

    Here's the definition for Propitiation.

    Greek:

    Transliteration: hilasmos

    Pronunciation: hil-as-mos'

Definition: atonement that is (concretely) an expiator: - propitiation.

    KJV Usage: propitiation.

To expiate is to make amends or reparation for; atone for: expiate one's sins by acts of penance. To make amends; atone.

"The penalty of sin has been paid"

Here's how John the baptist describes him.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29.

Now, to put my first reply in harmony with this post,

Though Jesus is our propitiation for our sins, we must accept him and believe this good news.

    "The Gospel".

    1 Corinthians 15:3-4.

    Romans 10:9-10. ect...

If we reject this good news here's our fate.

Hebrews 10:26-27. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

When we have been truly born again we're given the a new nature and power over sin.

Romans 6:20-22. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    Hi Ravina,

Jesus is with me in all things in my life, in all my thoughts, in all my words, in all my actions and all of my circumstances. ( Hebrews 4:13) So, when I sin, He is with me when I sin and is grieved by it, as I should be also, if the Holy Spirit has regenerated me, given me the faith to believe and be converted and is indwelling me to sanctify me and transform me to become more and more Like Jesus, who never sinned. Therefore, when I sin, I desire and hope that I would be grieved and convicted of it quickly. and then I can turn to Jesus and confess my sin to Him and know that He is faithful and just to forgive me. ( 1 John 1:9) Jesus has compassion for me because bring God Incarnated as a human, understands our weaknesses, having been temped in all points as we are, yet He did not give in to sin. ( Hebrews 4:14-16) I can be assured that Jesus is not a God that is far away, but nearer than the closest friend I could ever have. I can trust Him to love me though I am a sinner, but His life and work of salvation has opened the way for me to have become a child of God Our Father in heaven. I can be confident that I remain God's child throughout this earthly life and forever in eternity. I can know for sure that nothing can separate me from God's love for me because Jesus is my Savior forever and in Him we have peace with God.

Ravina, I hope that you will tell us what Jesus is to you when you sin, as well. I am sure that you have nothing but good things to say about Him, since He is perfect in every way. God bless you today.
  • S Spencer - In Reply on 1 John 2 - 2 years ago
    Hi Ravina.

I believe you are referring to

1 John 2:2 And he is the PROPITIATION for our sins: and not for our's only, BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD.

Christ is an expiator. our atonement.

This is made available but we must be careful not to deceive ourselves.

If one have been truly born again he/she has been transformed and habitual sin not present in their life.

I believe we should also consider

Romans 6:1-11. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Likewise "RECKON" ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I believe Paul is telling us to Recognize that we are dead to sin!

and it shouldn't have a hold on you.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    Hello, 1John 2:26-27 says,

"These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all thing, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it as taught you, you will abide in Him."

Daniel, if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then you already have this anointing, because the Holy Spirit is the anointing, and He lives within each believer from the time He regenerates a person at conversion.

The Spirit will always lead you into what is truthful. He will never lie to you or lead you into what is false. The tricky part truly is discerning whether your personal "education" about God's truth is definitely from the Spirit of Truth, or from your one reasoning, or from another believer sharing their "learning" with you. Discernment is really a great thing to pray to receive from the Holy Spirit, as He definitely wants to give this good gift to those who desire it and ask for it in prayer.
  • David - In Reply on 1 John 2 - 2 years ago
Daniel Confess with your mouth and believe with your heart Romans 10:9+10. Then you become

spiritually a son of God by rebirth spiritually that is the anointing of Holy spirit. That is the anointing spoken of.

Hi Sheila. I found a comment from a Sheila Middleton that appears similar to what you are seeking. And it appears that only one person (Chuck) responded to you, but he placed his response on a new thread, so you might not have seen it.

If you want to find that comment of yours, click on 'Discussions' on the top Menu on KJBO's Main Page & that will open to all our discussions. Then you'll see a Tab "Discussions by Book/Chapter'. Click on Matthew chapter 7. Scroll down the various comments until you see the comment you made. However, I don't know whether that is actually the one you're thinking of or if there was another comment by you.

Paul is saying in 1John 2:8 that the things which were prophesied from the beginning about Jesus Christ the Messiah is now been revealed and fulfill in him. Daniel 12:4 But thou O Daniel shut up the words and seal the book even to the time of the end many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased.

    It's says in 1 John chapter 2 V 23

Who ever denieth the Son , the same hath not the father ; but he that acknowledges the Son hath the father also .

Antichrists deny this v 22 and there are many of them in the last time .

It's really simple Jesus is the Son of God . Or he is something more or less than the Son of God .

If I said that your son is not who he claims to be even after you confirm it to be so . I would be a denier.

There is not even a whiff of a trinity here so that doctrine is irrelevant.

That is a very sad situation for both yourself & your husband. This is what we refer to as "having one foot in God & the other in the world". It seems there is a God-consciousness with him, yet he doesn't want to leave off the attractions that the world gives him. "Man cannot serve two masters": if he loves the world & what it offers him, then his love for God is not real - and that is called hypocrisy. 1 John 2:15, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

He needs spiritual counselling - there is always hope he may give attention to what another unbiased qualified person advises him, rather than from his wife. He probably needs to receive Christ's salvation that will make him new from the inside rather than subscribing to a phoney belief that his knowledge about God is all he needs. This is a very delicate situation which will see you both needing help & guidance, not only in spiritual matters but also in your marriage.

You can always pray for God's Work to be done in his life. Is he in a position to spend some devotional time, i.e. both of you together, with God? Reading from the Bible (which he says he believes in) & from a devotional book & also to spend a little time to pray about your lives, your family, your hopes & dreams, will be useful to resetting your lives & minds towards the things of the Lord. However, if he is resistant to these things, you can only but commit him & your marriage to the Lord in personal prayer & not frustrate or antagonize your husband further. Your faithfulness & love to him in spite of his view of you, your love & trust in the Lord to help your marriage, will also speak to his heart as he witnesses these things. May the Lord help you especially at this time Leasa.
