Roy: John wrote John and Peter wrote Peter. I sent a post before, the one above you the content don't look familiar to me so that's confusing? His Salvation is the best thing ever happened to me! When I was in Church before I was Saved I couldn't wait to hear Amen, finally time to leave!

"Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning." Let me put forth a question. If the Lord expected the Jews to know the Scriptures that they read every Sabbath; what makes Gentile Believers think that any of God's word from the beginning, no longer applies to THEM?
  • Isaiah 30 on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
Born into sin .. free will.. will you contort and manipulate the faith and word to adhere and conform to this world or pick up your cross and seek christ in this dark corrupt deceptive world? Light shines in darkness but darkness will never comprehend

As to acknowledging who Jesus was - the angel in Matt. 1:23 confirmed it " ..... his name shall be called ..... Emmanuel ..... " (God with us."), Jn. 1:14; 2Tim. 3:16.
  • Irene123 on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
Thomas, a Jew like Jesus ( Deut. 6:4), also acknowledged who Jesus was, " My Lord and my God." Just as Peter said Jesus was the CHRIST (the anointed one).
  • Bruce on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
Eliiah:Jesus is alive in the flesh. Where in the Bible is that found ?
  • Joan Travick on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
Keep in mind I John 2:22-23: Remember, it was Peter who acknowledged who Jesus was
  • Eliiah on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
The antichrist spirit that confesses not that Jesus is alive in the flesh is a liar because EVERY spirit KNOWS this very day that JESUS CHRIST IS ALIVE IN THE FLESH! The antichrist spirit is a liar and deceiver because it KNOWS! You know and confess not! Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
  • Matt on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." If you reject Jesus Christ, you reject God. John ch. 1 and 1 John ch. 5 v. 7: Jesus IS THE LIVING WORD OF GOD. In other words: GOD HIMSELF in the flesh.

    To Jerry Parker,
Romans 10:9-11, If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture says "Whoever believes on Him wil not be put to shame"
Our God is not a liar. If HE said it HE meant it.
  • Wayne on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
Acts 2:37. They asked what must we do to be saved. The reply was and is, repent and be baptized. Matt. 4:17, Jesus started preaching, Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. We surrender to Him. He blesses us as we walk with Him.
  • Irene123 on 1 John 2 - 7 years ago
To Jerry Parker - You've read 1 Jn.3:24. Now go to Acts 2:37-38 to see HOW we have His spirit in us. Notice the people said, "Men and brethren, what must we DO?" Living for God is not a 'passive' thing; you have to DO something physically, just as Jesus did; He did not passively die on a cross. He DID something to save us. And you SHALL receive; that is a PROMISE; God cannot lie.
  • Wayne on 1 John 2 - 8 years ago
Jerry, read 1 John 3:24. Abiding in Christ.

  • David on 1 John 2 - 8 years ago
Jerry Parker, do not distress in your sins for we are all sinners! Jesus was crucified on the cross for our sins, He took our sins. We are forgiven, for as long as we love Him with all our mind, heart, spirit and soul. Pray to Jesus to remove your sins - and it will be granted you. Do not rely on your flesh. We all fail in the flesh, we can only succeed in Jesus!
  • Jerry Parker on 1 John 2 - 8 years ago

Dear New Believer, Welcome! This is a wonderful time for you, and a time for laying a good foundation in God. There is nothing more important for you right now, than "filling your belly with the Book." Don't let anyone dissuade you from eating all the time! I strongly recommend you get a notebook and pen, and write down what your thoughts as you read. Over time your understanding will increase.
  • Cec on 1 John 2 - 8 years ago
Yes he is speaking about us. We must remember that John has been shown what is to come. Many things that are happening today are revealed in Revelations

Dear Doris Johnson, School or university cannot teach the Word of God as God's Word is ALIVE and school university teaches tradition of men. Pray in sincerity asking the LORD JESUS CHRIST to teach you by the anointing of His Holy Spirit. Be blessed in CHRIST! Amen. 1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him
