There are days that I absolutely cannot tolerate certain people. If I pray for them does this mean I have love in my heart for them even knowing I want nothing to do with them? I know God doesn't give us the spirit of confusion, I do know where that comes from. I have been struggling with this for some time now. I am saved and asked Jesus to come into my heart, I will never forget that day, not ever! Please, can someone help me to understand how a person can be saved and yet have such bitterness. I know I m supposed to forgive and I have often. I don't want to struggle with this any longer. I can say I love them because I can pray or forgive them but want nothing to do with them, is that coming from a person that has asked the Holy SPirit to come into their lives??? Please help. Thank you, Jeannie.

Could be that "Jesus is a mighty King".
  • Jered Vereen - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
    Queen,

In some quarters of the world, Jesus is mythical as all get out.

    You're not wrong.
  • Queen on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
I agree. jesus is a mithy king

Verse 19 shows that Jehovah God took the initiative in showing love to us and in return we learn how to love.

I see that the "meek inheriting the Earth", is the Lord describing the type of spirit & attitude of a 'meek' person towards God & man. The 'meek' person in himself cannot inherit the Earth, nor can he be acceptable to God without the intervention of the Cross in his life. Yet, that 'meek' disposition must be evident in all of God's children, as one so endued by the Holy Spirit.

Dear Sacha on 1 John 4:19 "We LOVE Him because He First LOVED us." Christians who are worthy do go to Heaven after death. And the Meek (the Teachable) will inherit the Earth right here and right now, and in the Hereafter. We pray this has helped you in some way. Peace.
  • ERECH CHRIST NIMROD on 1 John 4 - 3 years ago
We Know and Believe "God is LOVE" to all ethnicities. We do not see pictures of people of color on your sight. Why is this??? Thank you.
  • Sacha on 1 John 4:19 - 3 years ago
Can any one help me with this please ? If Christians go to heaven after death why does Jesus say the meek shall inherit the earth ? Any ideas any one ? Thankyou .

Where did the sprinkling for baptism come from in the bible?
  • Vlet on 1 John 4:19 - 3 years ago
What is the meaning that Jesus made clay from his spittle and earth, and then applied it to the blindman eye to make him see? What is the deeper meaning? His spittle is God's spittle that is mixed with earth to make the clay; so what is the deeper meaning of all this?

Jesus said a man must be born again , yet Jesus was not born again , he was born once in Bethlehem and needed not to be born again , because he was and is the Son of God .

Jesus had access to the father by his birth of the Father and also Mary . This is how he can say he is the door to God , and no man can come to God but through him . He and his father are one in that way . But the disciple and others can not understand this . Jesus death on the cross for sins past made the way possible to approach God , the first step , Jesus is the door to God for all men because of his relationship to God . No sin ever between Jesus and God .

I suppose there is so much that could be said . But when you know Jesus and how he brings you to God it's not hard to understand. It makes more sense when experiencing coming to God through Jesus .

I hope this helps someone .

Jesus is the Son of God and can bring you to God the father ! Amen!
  • Truth seeker on 1 John 4:15 - 3 years ago
If we believe that Jesus is the Son of God it's because God enables us to do that . It's not a mental convent only .

Many just can not understand that being the Son of God means that he comes from God and is of God and not of this world in a spiritual way , yet he was a true man by virgin birth . He was empowered by God in a way that was intimate and beyond any mans knowing of before . He demonstrated it so often , like walking on water , calming storms , going through walls , etc etc

He had a relationship with the father before the world because God is before the world was .

Truly the Son of God and empowered by God , and so much more , yet Still the Son of God and no more . God is still God the same as he always was and will be . Jesus is given the highest place at Gods right hand as Gods first Son .

Do not confuse who Jesus is , that could be another Jesus if you are not careful . The truth bears witness , we can know God and Jesus whom God is in by birth , and we can have this same fellowship

As Jesus prayed in the garden before his crucifixion.

Yes the devil try's to confuse who Jesus is and yet , God is still able to draw us to him . If God be for us who can be against us ? None .

Jesus is the Son of God .

Mlld Bill I know of people who confessed off the top of their heads Romans 10: 9+10 no change of heart the word heart there is innermost part of your being understanding this God knows the difference. Aiso all sins past at that time are forgiven that doesn't mean the believer won't commit more thats why we have a saviour.

    Psalms 83:5

"For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:"

  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:4 - 3 years ago
Other people believing false doctrine including christians back then that walked away from the truth of Gods word look at contexted also te shall know them by their fruits.
  • Mild Bill - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Rick Mentzer, "until", "do it", are such little words, but in your context, they put a condition on the grace of God in saving people. What assurance of salvation is there if we have to "wait and see if I've really trusted". Must a baby wait to ask,"was I really born to be really born?" Born again is a true trust in what God has done for your soul. The lost see choices, the saved see no other, and grow in grace.

"Also something to consider there are sins intentional and ones unintentional" So when you believe Christ has paid for your sins, which ones are excluded?
  • Jason on 1 John 4:4 - 3 years ago
I was really curious about this scripture and just wanted to get someone's thoughts on it. Who do you suppose the word "them" is being referred to? Is it referring to Satan and his demons or the world in general?
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Again its not a case of agree or disagree confessing Romans 10:9+10 and believing in your heart gets you born again spiritually we are perfect in Gods eyes now until any christian renews His mind and determines to make Gods Will his will and do it he will continue to walk according to the flesh Romans Chapter 8 1-13 to mortify or dsetroy works of the flesh this requires putting on Gods Word and acting accordingly. Also something to consider there are sins intentional and ones unintentional when Jesus Christ confronted a lot of religious leaders the evil was in their eyes they were perfect and they were the most corrupt, but most of the commend people understood they weren't worthy and they are the ones that got healed some he said go and sin no more ie don't intensionally, we all sin the question is is it done with evil intent or habit patterns of our old man nature. Any born again believer can do something and thinks its right but in the eyes of God be dead wrong, that doesn't make the person evil perhaps uneducated or unlearned. Thats why Judge not I don't know your background or experiences in life but i,ve been through some that I thought the true God was working wasn't the case but I learned just because you experience something that doesn't make it necessarily something the true God is doing. I take thoughts line them up with Gods word and unless it Glorifies god blesses me and others I don't take action. Just some food for thought.
  • Ricky D Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Hi Adam it's Rick I'm not here to judge but I do endeavor to stick to it is written because they are God's Words therefore to say my area my mind my interpretation my understanding are all the individuals interpretation as to what he thinks God meant this is religion elevating itself against the true God by misunderstanding or following an individual's belief system our Brother Jesus Christ ran into the same thing the religious rulers knew God's Word but twisted it to fit what they chose to believe.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Not disagreeing with the pride thing because natural man does not believe he needs saved from anything the big ie sin. hence if you don't believe in God then you won't believe in sin then there is no reason for a saviour.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Mild Bill no human being can will himself to be saved it was Gods active will ie determined action to be saved by Grace through his son no man can say i will implies he did it, he believed Gods word and will to be delivered he did'nt will it himself. it is Gods will for people to believe His word and get delivered His way.
  • Mild Bill - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Rick Mentzer, "he will make up his mind his will to believe gods(G) word or not." Couldn't that be said to be, "willing himself to be saved?"

"Something to consider All knowing God gave freedom of will to all His Creation that included lucifer in the beginning." As God's word clearly teaches, "In the beginning God". The awfulness of sin is apparent in supposing there was a choice other than God's, and lucifer was first. It would stand to reason that "dead in trespasses and sins", begs to transition that state by choice, also known as pride.
  • Adam - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
FYI: Mild Bill has used that same exact word twisting line before on others as if he has an agenda. That logical fallacy was called out before and it doesn't seem to be a genuine question.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
I never said free of I said man has freedom of will i.e. when a man is born over time he will make up his mind his will to believe gods word or not. But remember we all started thanks to adam born spiritually dead in trespasses and sin without god and without hope hence the reason for Jesus Christ. A persons will is what he determines what he decides in his life via teaching or experience what is right or wrong.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Bill the human or five senses mans own will before being born again was dead in trespasses and sin against the true God.we by nature children of wrath, which is why until a person gets born again of Gods spirit ie holy spirit and renews his mind to gods word which are his thoughts he stays in his own will dead in trespasses and sin. by the way not what i think it is written
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Its not a question of free of its a question of what you decide to do based on what you decide is right or wrong. If Gods word is our basis for correct living we will base our will on that but if an individual decides not to believe than his will is based on the worlds conditions hense the god who runs it. The Will of God is his word but if an individual decides to go against that then what you sew is what you reap and there is no respect of persons. That being said God almighty covers by His Grace a ton of our faults, but if an individual decides to jump over a 200 foot canyon God is not going to break all physical law to accommodate the act. The apostle paul fought the same battle Romans 7:14-25 what makes the Masters walk so incredible i.e. Jesus Christ is that He WAlked by His free Will doing Gods Will 24-7 thats phenominal! What Did He say in the garden before being taken not my will but thine be done, he gave himself because he personified Gods Love for His Greatest creation Man.
  • Mild Bill - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Ricky, What do you think the human will is free of?
  • Rick - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 3 years ago
Something to consider All knowing God gave freedom of will to all His Creation that included lucifer in the beginning then lucifer left and took others with him and betrayed The true God. In genesis Adam was given complete control over Gods Creation and as long as Adam and Eve obeyed the true God they were in charge. The moment Eve and Adam went against the true God by doing what the serpent I.E. SAtan said they lost spiritual dominion and connection to God. In the Gospel of luke chapter 4: verses 5 and six the devil said to Jesus Christ I will give you all the power and Kingdoms of this world so that tells you who is called God of this world 2 Corinthians 4:4 heres the challenge the true God owns the world His arch enemy rules It. The best part of this is thanks to the compeleted work of Jesus Chist our saviour he no longer when we believe can exert his power over us.
