5:19 helps us to identify who the ruler of the world is. Who is “the wicked one”? Satan the Devil.

We must have confidence or faith that when we pray to God he is going to answer our prayers as long as they are in harmony with His will.

I believe Christ has already nailed our victory to the cross. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and walking in His ways we are demonstrating our faith in Him. Trust and obey for their is no other way. We must be obedient to the Word of God. Work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. We must trust in Him. He'll bring us to that place. Just keep our eyes on Jesus, not the waves.
