    Hi Keith.

King Solomon didn't ask for those earthy things, God rewarded him with them.

    Here's scripture proof.

1 Kings 3:8-13. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

    And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

(-And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.-)

And as for the nation as a whole, When they walked in Gods ways and statutes he blessed them and gave them rest.

Exodus 23:25-27. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.

    God bless.

I don't know why King Solomon wanted all of these earthly thing, all those gold and precious metals could have been used to help

other people in the word , who are starving and most importantly to spread the word of god.

As we learn more of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and walk in the same manner; opportunities will open for us to testify and witness to others of the riches and splendor of the Lord in our lives. Therefore we must be ready to "...give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear."

    1 Peter 3:15

May the Lord bless everyone here on this forum to excel in the things of the Lord as God is faithful in all things. Matthew 6:33

Let us continue to pray for our Leadership, on all levels, that they learn to trust in Christ Jesus as we go into the second year of this "pandemic." August 2021

Jack, I see that the figures I posted didn't come through correctly. Please disregard those figures. The 120 talents of gold would have weighed in at 9000 pounds, which equates to 264 million dollars at today's value. Sorry about the mixed up figures in the previous comment.

Hi Jack. A talent of gold in the Old Testament days was approximately 75 pounds in weight. At today's gold price of USD 1830 per pound, a talent of gold today would cost USD 137,250. Multiplying this amount by 120 (talents) would be nearly 16.5 million dollars. At 9000 lbs of gold from the Queen of Sheba, plus the precious stones & spices which she gave, this was certainly a very large gift given to Solomon.

It's beautiful to see King Solomon rich in gold and in wisdom. Sounds like still peace in Israel instead of going back to evil. Good to read steady goodness.

It lets me know that riches are nothing compared to the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of Gods word. We are already rich in God. All we have to do is trust God and believe his Word.

I understand that God shows his kindness but also power to king Solomon, Solomon 's wise decision to the Question God asked him has led to all this greatness, and he.receives more because he gives it back to God and others .A key lesson in life .

This is 666 talents of gold in number. Is this number symbolic, and does it have any link with the mark of the beast as mentioned in the book of Revelation 13 18?

We are truly children of God. When we do something bad he doesn’t turn his back on us, he wants us to own up to what we did. We are responsible for our own sin, not the sins of our brothers or sisters. He makes it clear if we only open our hearts, TO HIS WORD.

IN THE FIRST VERSE, THE QUEEEN OF SHEBA'S DISBELIF CAME TO QUESTION SOLOMON. EVERY TEST OR QUESTION WAS ANSWERED. BUT IT WAS NOT A KING, OR A PRINCE WHO CAME TO TEST SOLOMON, IT WAS A WOMAN. IT WAS A WOMAN IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN, WHO WAS THE WEAKER VESSEL, WHO WAS TEMPTED, THROUGH DISBELIEF. SATAN WILL ALWAYS ATTACK US AT OUR WEAKES POINT. BUT THROUGH FAITH AND OBEDIENCE, THE BLESSINGS OF THE LORD WILL BE HERE.
