God used King David to teach us our obligation as a father or a leader, we must teach our children and the church the way of God from their tender age; in verse 3, keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments. This made Solomon to love God and keep His commandments.

This was a very powerful chapter: David instructs Soloman to be a stronge man of God, to use wisdom in his actions, and to keep the promises made to GOD. Inwhich, Soloman, being very knowledgeable of the law was able to see deceit and lies, and those found guilty, gave their lives in exchange. This was not murder, it was The Hand of God, strking vengeance, through Soloman. Then at the same time, Soloman showed Mercy (The Lord), He, just asked you to keep your word, if not their is retribution.

Whatever the Lord speaketh shall surely come to pass

Trying to keep the names straight is challenging. Was King Solomon's love of his father, King David that great or was he being too ruthless?
