I see a very humble KING. A prayer for his country and people like no other. I wish all Kings presidents and leaders would pray such a prayer to GOD our creator. JEHOVAH.
Referencing GOD is not a sign of weakness or low life. It gives you Confidence because whoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. It is your duty (verse 38) to pray for your country. MAY GOD bless ISREAL and your cour country.

Ikings8:17 It means that truly David handed over testemony to Solomon his son, and it is wonderful if our sons and daughters can perform the will that God had given to thier Fathers.

ive seen christian woman wearing revealing dresses to church men coming in shorts, have some respect for the house of our Lord. Where has all all the morals and respect gone from present day christian. for people who genuinely cant afford clothes the church should help their members.

This chapter shows the importance of having a church of God to dwell and to pray effectively. The spirit of the Lord can move and minister to all His children very well in the most holy place of the world which is the temple of God.

In reading this chapter, I see the importance being placed on "The House of The Lord", the Church. So many churches has lost the HOUSE OF GOD, and become a building, as in "The Building Fund". We, as Christians, should recognize, and never forget, we come together to worship in a buidling, where THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS, so therefore, its not a "BUILDING", BUT, THE HOUSE OF GOD.
  • David on 1 Kings 8:60 - 14 years ago
Is the Lord referring to Jesus, or Yahweh (aka Father)

Its so soothing to read scriptures such as this and see the faithfulness of God. Solomon made a confession that all of the words promised came to pass. His nature is that He cannot lie, whatever He promises He will do. Its always fulfilling and exciting to benefit from His goodness. Be encouraged.
