I went through a terrible persecution at my job. I worked daily under tremendous stress, and was constantly threatened by my supervisor that he was going to replace me. I had children at home dependent on me and bills to pay. I was humiliated daily. Instead of quitting I put my trust in God who brought me through. My supervisor was fired in 2001 and I retired in 2014! God is amazing!! G

1 Peter 2:21 We copy the example of Jesus Christ, his walk with God. (Giving, prayer, study of God's Word, speaking God's Word and fellowship with other believers.)

"...that stumble at the Word, being disobedient, whereunto also they were appointed."ELECTION of the Lord is a true fact...as is the appointment of others to destruction. Strive to avoid this block , and enter in at the Straight Gate.

My God my savior already sent his only son Jesus to die for all of my sins, now I know I m free from sins debt and sickness. It doesn t matter what doctor has told me my disease doesn t have cure, I know my the grace of God as I saw him in my dream and touch I m already healed. There s nothing people or doctor can tell me about my God to believe. He is the God of God the king there s no one like h

Verse 16~We want to use our free will in a way that pleases God.

Verse 11: We have to behave as aliens and temporary residents in this wicked world. Christ was not part of this world and we have to imitate him.
  • BSP on 1 Peter 2 - 7 years ago
Verse 22: Jesus was perfect and did not sin and in imitation of him we want to do all we can to make sure that we don't deliberately sin.

"..THE COVETOUS WHOM THE LORD ABHORRETH" This is a part that many might think strange, or inconsistent with the New Testament dispensation of mercy and grace. But such thinking is really inconsistent with the moral excellence and love of the truth in God. Our lives do not consist in those things we would lust after, or possess, or how through them we would hope to be admired and accepted by men.

Babies long for milk and we need to form a longing for God's Word in that same way.

Don't forget Mark 2:10-11. 10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee,Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. KJV

Jacoba - You are both right in your teaching. There are many reasons why God does a lot of things and He does it all for His own glory whether out of compassion or to show His power or for our good etc. Let's add John 9:1-3 to the discussion. This is e-home cell we have online I enjoy the contributions. Let's continue to glean through scriptures to build ourselves up in all humility.

    Indeed, thank you Lord!

Luk2677. Jesus is compassionate, you can be compassionate, I can be compassionate; so can anybody and certainly Jesus taught that we should be; but His miracles were to prove He was from God. The apostles preformed miracles to prove their words came from God. I love to talk about the Bible and enjoy discussions about the Bible. That is what apostle Paul told us to do, reason together.

This chapter is a very good thing to read completely when you have a bad attitude or are just plain mad.

To BSP on loving the Bible - Love it? I don't read anything but - and books about the Bible, but not the Christian novels. I tried about 3 of those; I can't get into Biblical fiction; too boring. The word of God is - EXCITING!!! I love the story of Elijah and the prophets of baal; makes me laugh everytime I read it. And Balaam and his 'dumb' donkey. God's got a sense of humor.

  • Wayne on 1 Peter 2 - 8 years ago
You are correct. Vv. 21-24 are talking about spiritual things. Each born again believer is to live above sin. By His stripes we are healed. Without His atonement, propitiation, we are powerless and mired in ourselves. The scripture doesn't mention the physical healing work. Just purification of our hearts, souls, and minds.
  • Irene Berry on 1 Peter 2 - 8 years ago
    Very encouraging.

Jesus Christ: the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8.
  • Nalia on 1 Peter 2 - 8 years ago
I believe it means.. If one truly seeks God and is pure of heart God knows this.. Anything is possible. Therefore, is it crazy to imagine that God is not capable of changing the words of any written word, be it the bible or a comic book, and communicating with an individual instantly.. One on one. After all, God Is The Word. Alive inside the Living Word. Ask and You Shall Receive, right..? The bible tells me so.. Anyway, just my thoughts and feelings on the subject.. Thanks for listening or reading Lol Attention: pay it

When we are born again ,naturally we are babies : Babies cannot eat meat : therefore we desire the sincere milk of the word . I was not able to walk when I was born : Had to grow . As I grow in God's word , when the time is right I will start on more solid food : Growing process : As of now after 38 years , I am still growing and I am able to digest meatier word of God . But grow in Grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !!!! Yes !! Amen !!
