Did Jesus preach in hell for 3 days? Can people or demons in hell still be saved?
  • I AM THAT I AM: on 1 Peter 3 - 5 years ago
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison: Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noe, while the ark was a preparing, wherein FEW, that IS, EIGHT SOULS were saved by water. The LIKE FIGURE whereunto even baptism doth also NOW save us: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh but the answer of a good conscience toward GOD:

Verily, Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

thanks Irene that is so true often time we shy away from the people who need to hear our testimony. We as believers have hope not like the world , but the hope of Christ that live in us . I once was lost but now I'm found . I once was blind but now i see. "Praise God"

The above Scripture is the like figure for the few souls who are alive AND remain in this present, evil world. The Holy Father makes me to know them and loves them. I know not the many who only lie for money, blaspheming the Holy Ghost. Be no more joined to them by refusing REPENTANCE, which is why ye lack belief in the truth. REPENT FIRST: THEN call on the Name of the LORD: and ye shall be saved.

John, where does the Bible teach this? Book, chapter and verse, please. I have book, chapter and verses that baptism SAVES. Mark 16:16 and 1st Peter 3:20,21. Thanks
  • Charlie - In Reply on 1 Peter 3 - 5 years ago
Acts 22:16 is where the blood washed Saul s sins away. Acts 2:38 is where around 3000 had their sins remitted. Acts 8:29-39 is where the blood washed the eunoch s sins away. Matthew 26:28 and Acts 2:38 tie the blood to the water. Rev. 1:5 and Acts 22:16 tie the blood to the water. John3:1-5 tie Spirit to the water. 1st John 5:8 ties it ALL Together. 1st Peter 3:21 is right, BAPTISM SAVES. Peace

Verse 12~If we are righteous we can be assured that we have Jehovah God's eyes and ears on us so to speak.
  • BSP on 1 Peter 3 - 6 years ago
Verse 6~We do not want to give into fear. We must continue doing good and build love for Jehovah God and he will give us the courage we need to face any circumstance.

1 Peter 9:24 states that he went and preached to the spirits. I believe he went into hell? Is that true? Please show cross references. Please and thank you. Emma

The day Jesus was crucified, there was 2 thieves also crucified. ( Luke 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.) But the one on the right said ( Luke 23:And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

I really love verse 7 because it lets us know that GOD is some-kind-of serious about His marriage covenant and we need to be as well. A man's prayers are literally stopped once he leaves his wife meaning he can no longer ask forgiveness. Something to think about.

We must be prepared to defend our faith, but we must do so with meekness or mildness and with respect for others.
  • BSP on 1 Peter 3 - 6 years ago
Verse 6~We must continue doing good and not give in to fear in our service to God.

Jesus has a seed to sow in humanity, the world, God so loved the world etc. Thats y he speaks of the babes and the sucklings they are the result of his seed sown in humanity, necessitating a birth OF CHRIST IN US. That which is born of the spirit IS SPIRIT thats our new innerman, A CHILD OF PROMISE . MY lil children of whom i travail in birth till Christ be formed in you. UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN.
  • Alex on 1 Peter 3 - 6 years ago
The best example of the new birth is the Woman giving birth in Rev 12. Humanity is gonna birth a baby Christ, her child is the H.G. the multiplication of Christ the PROMISE CHILD THATS Y HE ALWAYS REFERS TO HIMSELF AS THE SON OF MAN, MANKIND IS GONNA BRING FORTH FRUIT UNTO GOD. That was the GREAT PROMISE the multiplication of Christ via his seed th WORD THE VERY SEED OF GOD,UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN

I should be amazed, but I'm not...vs 21 is clear...Baptism is where forgiveness of sins takes place after the sinner repents and confesses his faith. Acts 22:16 backs this up as Saul still had his sins (not saved on the road to Damascus) and was told to arise and be baptized and wash away his sins. Baptism is not a work of man. It's called obedience. Find me where it says it's an "outward sign"

Verse 1 is encouraging those who are married to show good conduct by applying Bible principles no matter the situation. Actions can speak much louder than words.
  • BSP on 1 Peter 3 - 7 years ago
Verse 15: In order to be ready to share our beliefs, we can practice beforehand so that we can be ready when we are asked questions.
  • BSP on 1 Peter 3 - 7 years ago
Verse 12 is comforting because it assures us that Jehovah God will protect us. He is our refuge and our strength.
  • Lucia szymanik on 1 Peter 3 - 7 years ago
Always make Jesus Christ the center of your marriage. Give the Lord your Marriage and as the scriptures read "What God has joined together, let no man put asunder. When Husband and Wife quarrel, forgive one another and pursue the peace; so Satan does not come in the Marriage to destroy it. I am living proof it works. I have been married for 49 years and counting.

  • Irene123 on 1 Peter 3 - 7 years ago
1Peter3:1-6; I lo-o-ove these vs. Because - this is the situation I am in. Because I obey the Lord (His Word) He has made a way for me for almost 3 yrs. to serve Him. Before, for 5 yrs., God didn't make a way because I wasn't obeying Him, through His Word. If you are trying, wanting to live for Him - just obey His Word: Jn.14:15. To live for Jesus is so easy, even under persecution.

...wives, be in subjection to your own husbands...husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge... It's not hard to find where in history things really started rushing out of course; and as Christians, we aren't to gauge our values by the world's. It is a real mark of a sincere conversion, that lays aside as worthless and evil, what the world in defiance toward God promotes as morally superior!
  • Bruce on 1 Peter 3 - 7 years ago
Irene: Did The Lord Say:But seek ye first The Kingdom of God and His Righteous; and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33,or no seeking need. Just love! Changing scripture! Where does that come from? (You know)Do not add or take away? Both has been done. And you say it's "ok"? We who are Washed by The Blood,Preach The Word as Written as much as possible.
