This chapter somes up god's ability to do what man may think is impossible. We may never know why?Hannah's womb was shut-up because what god does he does it according to his will and he knows the purpose and the plan that is for our lives. This demonstrates that we to can petition god for the things we want only if it's pleasing in his sight.God knew the time he needed Samuel to come forth you see with God he has a time frame a frame that the natural eye will never understand because God don't move when we want him but he moves on time and in time alot of times we are put in a situation or go through certain things so that God can see where we stand and what we can handle. You see back in those days a childless woman was considered a failure and a embarassment to there husbands but as we can see Hannah was truly loved by Eli so that just lets us know this was all apart of gods plan she we as a people look at the outward circumstances while god looks ahead at the glory that's behind the things he does.Hannah was ridiculed by Peninnah for not being able to give birth Hannah could have reacted out of heart but she didn't because we canot stop the things that goes forth from ones mouth........Beautiful chapter

Sometimes,God will grant one's desires, when one is willing to give,or invest something, that would enable God to fulfill his purposes and plans...

Robert- I believe that God shut up Hannah's womb so that he could recieve the glory whenever he gave her the ability to conceive. Notice how the other wife was called her adversary, who always had the ability to have children. Penninah used that ability to make Hannah miserable. Whenever Hannah recieved the ability to concieve she was so grateful that she gave her child to dwell in the temple to serve God. It's just like when we get something for nothing, it means nothing to us. But when we work for something, we cherish it.
