But this was written by Paul to Timothy over 30000 year's ago and was his belief, does God say anywhere in the Holy Bible that Women should be silent and not teach?
  • Robert Glover Sr on 1 Timothy 2 - 3 years ago
how can modern day women better understand there place in gods sight without them feeling that they have been left out , Some in my opinion act as if the term man does include women and humans just because some places in the Bible it may just say man, and should men just have women bring the way the world is changing into the church worship ie. breaking through the good old boys jobs of corp. America.

    S Spencer,

This was not to say that men do not do likewise. In general I was referring to the scriptures of those days when Paul, had to stop the disruptive behavior within the church. Once upon a time men respected God. They sat in completely awe and marveled at the words of Jesus' teachings.

However, today I agree that men are just as bad as women in the distractions within the churches. If its not upcoming sporting events its negotiations oversome sort of sell, trade, or buying venture they are whispering about. The lack of respect towards God today is mind boggling, troubling, a sad.

    In truth...

I saw a vision of them standing in a huddled mass outside of the gatesof God's Kingdom. Busy Bodies, Gosspiers, Deal Takers/Dodgers, Goods Swappers, etc. Repeatedly Saint Paul called out to them but they heard him not. For they were caught up in their Chatters. Then closed the gates of Heaven with a huge blinding flash of light. For a millisecond I felt my heart as though it were sinking because those people had been locked outside the gate, but that millisecond came and was gone as the light of God's love filled every corner of Eternity.

There is a time and place for everything. God's time is eternal. When He calls out that final time and slams those gates shut for all of eternity it is then too late to remember that respect for God and His time.

How important is a car deal when the last call from God comes?

How inportant is a recipe for vegetable soup when the last call from God comes?

I don't have to bring this to your attention. Its not like you don't already know this.

God Bless and I know that God is with you always.

    Hi Rose

I understand, and yes that's sad but it does happen by men and women, I've witnessed worse as a leader in the Church, sometimes the battle is within the gates,

Stay true in the light of the Lord brother .

    God bless you.
  • Rose - In Reply on 1 Timothy 2:12 - 3 years ago
This was a a place to where I had been invited as a guest to hear a guest speaker on a few occassions and to approach one of the ladies would have been no doubt a battle not to be entered into as her position within the church was as equal to the Pastor himself. Not to mention she seemed to also have the authority to have people removed from the church permenantely.

It was far wiser and ordered by God to not step foot in those doors again to which I obeyedand continue to obey. What has happened since those days is between them and God. Not me.

The guest speakers at all of those meeting to which I was invited have contacted me inviting me to other places to meet with them to hear the sermons. It has truly been a blessing.

Please don't assume that none of the member are here at this site because they are. Yet that is for nobody to really know but the members and of course God who knows all things. Thank you for your comment however and God Bless.

This must have bothered you tremendously seeing you bring this to a website where there may be none of your members, I've experienced similar situations but it was men as well, I've seen worse. Don't let it render you unprofitable. God bless you
  • Sacha - In Reply on 1 Timothy 2:12 - 3 years ago
This has never been a problem in any church service i have ever been to ,you need to speak to those involved privately ,if they dont respect the service they shouldnt be at it and if they dont shut up after you have spoken to them then you need to speak to your minister ,is it only you that has noticed this ? My guess is that others are just as annoyed as you ,its not good for us to be annoyed at others ,it can breed resentment and even hostility ,best to talk about it and sort it out so there is no bad feelings ,forgive and move past it .
  • Rose on 1 Timothy 2:12 - 3 years ago
This is precisely why we are told to follow God, place our faith, belief, and trust in Him. Not man.

Man has been scrambling these books of the Bible for years upon years.

Paul was brought to see the problem arising in the church with women "busy bodies" that would become a distraction to all. Men trying to hear the teachings couldn't keep focused on the lessons being taught because the women of the church were chatting among each other over many subjects having nothing to do with anything that needed being taught.

I know some ladies night get mad with me for saying this, but...

To this very day this tends to be a problem. Today we call them "Gossipers, Busy Bodies, Chatter Boxes" and often the subjects of their conversations are filled with partial truths and extra padding that makes it sound juicier than it really is. Yet doing this during church creates a distraction for everybody else that is trying to pay attention to the lessons being taught. Having not heard a single word of the lessons themselves these ladies will then go about trying to witness to others without fully knowing nor understanding what it is they are speaking about.

I love each and everyone of you... I pray for you as well.

The truth shall set me free whether you get mad at me for saying this or not, but at times even I have had to turn in my seat to look back at the Chatter Boxes in an effort to get them to understand that I'd love to be able to hear the lessons being spoken of during a service.

There is a time and place for everything, but during a service is not the time nor the place for Chatter Boxes.

Sure.. I know the Bible from front cover to back cover many times through and through, but who is to say in this very moment during a service that God doesn't have something that He needs and wants me to hear and understand. Yet the Chatter Boxes are keeping me from being able to hear what it is that I need to hear.

God has shown me a lot of His Truth throughout my Life's Journey.

    Hello Maria,

As they put the book and chapter next to your name. 1 Timothy 2:9

    In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
  • Maria on 1 Timothy 2 - 3 years ago
where does it say for us to dress modest?
  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Timothy 2 - 3 years ago
In line with Adam's concern that maybe we're not reading the correct view from each of your daughters, it's difficult to accurately comment. But I would say this, & it may not be according to your question, that for me, my 'religion' & world politics go hand-in-hand, they cannot be separated if I am to live correctly & being accountable to the God Who has purchased me. In fact, everything I do in whatever sphere of my earthly experience, including politics, I have to make judgement & use God's Word to decide on what to believe, to perform & who to accept.

After all, in the days of the revelation of the Anti-Christ, who is a both a political & religious figure, all people living under his government & control will have to decide on where their devotion will ultimately lie. So religion & politics, at least for the Christian goes very much together, & if they can indeed separate the two, then hypocrisy & insincerity are matters that will come before them & they will need to deal with those. But from the govt's standpoint (i.e. to keep politics & religion separate & be mutually exclusive), I can understand where a secular govt. should take that stand to govern their citizens for their lives as people on Earth without calling in their religious position as a factor of good governance. As long as Satan is the god of this World, no govt could ever give a true righteous rule over her people. Only until the Righteous One of God rules, will this World ever see how both government & true religion can bring about real fulfilment, peace & joy in living. Until then, there will always be turmoil & rampant wickedness, all displaying how far we have gone from the Word of God & by using our own defective & sinful wisdom to rule.

Hello I'm trying to have a discussion with my daughter or both of my daughters that religion has nothing to do with politics and she says my one daughter says well if you're a Christian then an it's nothing to do with what religion you are what is your opinion

    Dwayne,

The Lord was pleased with Solomon ( 2 Chronicles 1:1) & so offered to answer his request (1:7-12). And Solomon's wisdom was unmatched anywhere, even as we read through the Song of Songs, Proverbs & Ecclesiastes. As well, he built the first Temple in Jerusalem & expanded the united kingdom of Israel as far as Egypt & the Euphrates River. However, his wisdom even though I'm sure extended into his familial arena, found a weak spot in his heart of flesh: he succumbed to his lust for women. All his wisdom couldn't not alert him to his weakness & avoid impending doom. But it wasn't primarily a physical weakness, but a spiritual one, as his 700 wives & 300 porcupineserrconcubines, pricked & turned his heart to follow after other gods ( 1 Kings 11:1,2) "surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love."

1 Kings 11: 9.10): "And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded." In his wisdom, Solomon even broke the first two Commandments of God, further disqualifying him from further ruler ship.

The lesson we can learn from this is found in 1 Corinthians 10:12: "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." And this warning, Rob has emphasized also. If one so 'wise' as Solomon could succumb & fall into sin, how much more should we take care & learn to take God seriously & use His Gifts wisely.
  • Rob - In Reply on 1 Timothy 2 - 4 years ago
He gave heed to women and they seduced him to their gods . He fell into temptation. It can happen to mighty men .

A real threat to any , we should take warning .

Jesus said pray that you watch and pray that you enter not into temptation, he must have let his guard , or some times pride will bring a fall , how many could receive so much as Solomon and not feel a little better than others ? Easily
  • Dwayne Smith on 1 Timothy 2 - 4 years ago
Solomon was the wisest man, so how can someone so wise defy God and go against His will? This has always puzzled me.

In our last days God has warned us about in the writings of His words spoken thru the Bible. What have you done with your Life? All the outcome will hit you right in the face when you realize how many times God gave you Blessings and you threw them away on this sinful world of me -myself- and l will do what l want...when l want- and thru others telling you to do different. The evilness coming out to destroy God's gift to you. No one but you exposed your life. Just think how it will look in the Book of Life as it starts being read to you. You will be on your knees begging God for another chance. But how long did you have a chance to change your life on Earth. How many times have you helped others less fortunate. Didn't Jesus give of Himself to others never thinking of Himself. Didn't He bring the wisdom of His Father to others. He was always reaching out to the needs of others. No one knows how strong His Love and His Father's Love is until you walk into it. I did more then once. You can not describe it. The world knows nothing of this compassionate Love that can move a mountain. Not only does it come from the heart but the energy of His whole being. That is why no matter how bad you are He stands near waiting for His Last sheep to return. Knocking always until you do. The Light is so caring it will blind you at first. Love that comes from the inside out always looking inside the person. Never the outside. Pure Love!!!! Are you going to let that go when you are able to meet Him? Time is coming faster and faster. Get wise now! Beware now.. Start climbing the stairs to Heaven by doing good thru His Words. Don't let Satan drag you to the pit of Hell! Wise up now!!! Heed my warnings now!!! Another chance you will never get!!! Stay clear of the wickedness of this world...Repent..the time of His coming is very near!!! Ask for forgiveness...Save yourself in this hell bent world!!! I saw the sufferings that will become soon to all the Earth...Wake up before it comes:
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU - In Reply on 1 Timothy 2:12 - 4 years ago
I grew the most as a Christian, just reading the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Paying close attention to everything Jesus said or did, or revealed. How did he act?

I read it real slow so I wouldn't skim by and miss something. I learned who he is; I saw how he reacted. He doesn't get explosive on people. He's patient, kind, righteous: he likes to tell stories; so do I.

If no one would listen, he moved on to the next place. He won people's hearts by telling them of Gods heart. He has a deep love for kids.

I went to the same church with a guy named, CARMAN. He's lived his life doing concerts at Churches, for kids and their families. He's a very kind, funny at times and loves to sing about Jesus. Check out some of his videos on YouTube. Type in YO KIDZ. My favorite song is The Champion.

    Happy Birthday :D

May the Lord of all keep his Hand on You and bless you with Wisdom, Understanding and Knowlege of the mysteries of the Bible. May the Holy Spirit Keep you near to his heart. I pray the Lord would bless you with angels to keep you safe; and all of your family. May all of you find favor with the Lord. Ask for what you Need.

    Love Mishael

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ

    For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby

And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father

    Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

    And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord

Lidya, the Spirit of understanding be with you. Isaiah 46:3-4 ..... which (you) are borne (carried) by me (Christ) from the belly (birth), which (you) are carried (by Christ) from the womb (birth). (vs) 4 And even to your old age am I he; and even to hoar hairs will I (Christ) carry you; I (Christ) have made (created you), and I (Christ) will bear; even I (Christ) will carry; and deliver you. Jesus told his disciples that the Son of Man was sent to be a servant; isn't it nice that Jesus does everything for us; therefore, we can cease from our works and come into his rest.

The letter Paul wrote to Timothy concerning women teaching and preaching. I read the comments by people and the comments some made which included "I believe". For sure, we need to beware what "we believe" but we need to pursue the truth of the text and look for clues in other texts. For instance, does anyone not think, Jesus could of settled this thing so easy by choosing a woman to be one off the twelve! But he didn't. Does anyone wonder why? When Paul is laying some ground rules for the church and the qualifications. He writes several times the man should have one wife........he never says the person should have one spouse or one husband, etc. You get the picture. I Timothy Chapter 6:3. Once again Paul has a chance to clarify. He writes again If any MAN teach otherwise......I read some of these comments about the woman Jesus spoke to being an evangelist because after her meeting with Jesus at the well she went into town and told all. Well lets examine that. You just met an individual that knew things about you he could not possibly have known. No doubt she was amazed and went into town telling everyone about this strange and wise individual. So that makes her an evangelist?????? Really????? does that mean I am a scientist if a scientist tells me a truth about cellular structure and I go into town and tell all I know what he taught me about cells??? I mean some of these comments are reaching and splitting hairs. Our generation from kindergarten up has been socially conditioned (brainwashed) into believing a certain way. When the Bible tells us something to the contrary, we want to start splitting hairs, reading something that isn't there, and outright refusing to believe what it is saying. Sometimes we may not like what we read, but it does not change the truth of the text, nor should we try to. Beware brothers and sisters.

    Book of Joel chapter 3

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit UPON all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also UPON the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

This is a prophesy of these days; preceding the Caught Up of the church meeting Jesus in the clouds.

Th Lord will use women and handmaidens too.

Let's not try to tie God's hands from fulfilling prophesy. I've watched her ministry, and men attend those meetings too.

At the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ, HE will hand out the rewards or loss of rewards to the believers. It's between Him and all those that preached and taught in his Name. We do not get to vote on that. Ever.

Anyone doing anything for Jesus: their works will pass through the fire of burning up wood, hay, and stubble.

Where is it in the Bible about the elections of Judges? I thought it said something about the election of judges to lead quiet and peaceful lives: which is covered in 2 Timothy 2:2, but does not state judges outright.

I thought I had read something about the appointment of judges, am I wrong?
