    Amen.
  • Ray321 on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
Romans 9:12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 1 Timothy 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father and the younger men as brethren. 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble

Verse 12: There can be many good things learned from the example of wise young ones. We should not look down on younger ones just because of their age.
  • Ray321 on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
This chapter sounds like today. Lest and lest people are getting married. 1 Corinthians 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. It better to marry then to burn Paul said.
  • Brian on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
As it plainly states in verse 1 that is a "doctrine of devils".
  • A disciple on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
"Forbidding to marry" - Imposed celibacy cannot give a man the grace of self control, without having determined in his own mind by the Spirit to keep the body under. Jesus' first miracle was to turn water into wine at a Wedding Feast. When the disciples said to Him, "...its better not to marry;" He answered straight and simple, so as to leave it up to each one to decide for himself what was best.

"having their conscience seared with a hot iron" What happens in the conscience of those who get into a fornication relationship is very evident! How many there are who have some Bible upbringing, and have rebelled! How many have we found, who have chosen to live together unmarried, or pursue a lifestyle of promiscuity, that are hateful and hostile to the words of Jesus! How'd they get there!

1 Timothy 4:1-3 "Forbidding to marry." Any comments?
  • Lu2677 on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
1 Timothy 4:13-16. V.13"Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine." Hebrews 12:5 Very good advice. Exhort; To incite by argument or advice, to urge strongly, to give warnings, urgent appeal. The apostles did it. I am willing to do what the Lord says in his word to do. It is urgent, the Lord might return tonight. I have compassion for those that lack understanding.
  • Brianna Vs. 10 on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
By working hard in things pertaining to God, we keep ourselves busy until we await our deliverance. Working hard for God in our lives, shows that our HOPE is in HIM. Not in any human government. Our hard work can be from fighting against sin, helping our neighbor, and helping other come to know God. This will keep us happy and Jehovah God will prove to be our Savior.
  • BSP on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
Paul urged Timothy to be a good example in his speech, conduct, love, and faith in verse 12. We too can strive to set a good example.
  • Irene123 on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
Quote - Obeying God's instructions on personal matters has spiritual consequences. Peter wrote that the simple application of these instructions can result in sinners converted ( 1 Pet. 3). The woman he describes is one who is secure in her relationship with God and who derives her beauty from that relationship, cont.
  • Brianna vs. 8 on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
HA! Verse at makes me feel a little better about my cellulite. I just found this verse funny. In the grand scheme of things exercise is nothing compared to Spirituality. However the Bible does say this is beneficial. Gives me strength and motivation to take care of the body an life God has blessed me with.
  • Prophet/Pastor L Murphy on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
I thank God for all the youth that is sold out for God! All the mature saints need to cover them daily in prayer and be an example and be that light. They are the ones that will take our place
  • BSP on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
Verse 6 shows that Timothy needed to be nourished to fully accomplish his ministry. We need to make sure we are nourished by daily Bible reading so that we can preach God's Word to others.
  • Christin on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
verse 12 is powerful. it clearly tells us what we need to do and how we need to live from day to day. Don't be deceived by those of the world. Live for Jesus like he could come back tomorrow. (Which in reality, he could) God Bless Everyone!
  • Steve Bishop on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
Most of the modern church is living in deception. May the LORD show HIS mercy and grace to lift the scales from their eyes.
  • Maels on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
Hypocracy is on the rise however those who follow God and continue to teach
  • Wayne on 1 Timothy 4 - 7 years ago
My grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore will i rather glory in my infirmities that the power of God may rest upon me.
  • Irene123 on 1 Timothy 4 - 8 years ago
V.8 - bodily exercise does profit little - when compared to spiritual exercise. But - the bodily DOES profit while here on earth , especially for those with diabetes, arthritis, overweight, heart problems, etc. So we do not want to use this verse as an 'excuse'; God does expect us to help ourselves and He will pick up the 'slack', or rather that which is lacking in our efforts.
  • Judy on 1 Timothy 4 - 8 years ago
verse 8 is powerful ! may we can remember it and practise !
  • Rollybelly on 1 Timothy 4 - 8 years ago
Chapter 1 to 4 have made it clear to us because false prophets and pastors' have taken power from the devil to do miracle in the church today.you can know them by their fruit.the fruits are they charge for prayer they operate with magic
and they will tell you to buy ingredients for sacrifice which is going to use to work for them
  • BSP on 1 Timothy 4 - 8 years ago
Verse 8 shows we must put more emphasis on being devoted to God and in good spiritual shape than on being physically fit.
  • Portia Dufie on 1 Timothy 4 - 8 years ago
The bible verse from chapter 4:1-16 teaches us to constantly demonstrate in practices the virtues Aps.Paul told Timothy in verse 12 that eventhough in are in a perversed generation we must have a youthful generation who will stand up to theses virtues to even believers and others so that we may save ourselves and those who hears us. Is my pray that youth in Ghana who are Christian meditate on thes
  • Joseph on 1 Timothy 4 - 8 years ago
1 Tim. 4: We are already in the latter days, men are departing from the faith already, speaking lies in hypocrisy, and forbidding to marry but their fruits are not portraying them as christians in any way. The Bible expressly warns us 'from such turn away'.
  • Vuvu on 1 Timothy 4 - 9 years ago
It's very much relevant to our times because there many Satanic Pastors and Satanic Prophets.
  • EFFY BLESS on 1 Timothy 4:14 - 9 years ago
THIS IS TRUE BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE THINK IT AL ABOUT PRAYING TO GET AN ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEMS, THEY FORGET THAT SERVING GOD IS THE WITH THE GIFT GIVEN TO YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE COMPLETELY. I AM MAKING USE OF THE GIFT OF GOD IN MY LIFE AND AM ASKING GOD FOR MORE GRACE TO EXERCISE THIS GOD GIVEN GIFT IN ME MORE AND MORE.
  • Motdaugrnds on 1 Timothy 4 - 9 years ago
Priscilla, it is my understanding that "a seared conscious " is developed by one who continuously makes excuses for wrong he or she has done so he or she may continue to do those things and be able to look at themselves in the mirrow without feeling guilty. It is developed over time. We can learn to do this even by what we choose to watch on television or experience from the actions of those around us. It is my prayer we ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE HOLY SPIRIT that God has given us for our edification even when instructions are hard to hear. We need to become self actualized, able to separate the worth of ourselves from the value of our own behaviors because then we can hear exhortations without getting defensive. This defensiveness will eventually sear the conscious.
  • SAMUEL JIMOH on 1 Timothy 4 - 9 years ago
1 Tim 4:1 show us a picture of the things that will happen in the last days, the last days are days and times of great persecutions, challenges, test of faith, deceptions and confusion where false teacher and prophet will arise to bring the children of light to darkness. And it is the third personality of the Trinity that is speaking expressly, that some shall depart from the faith,,,,means some like peter will betray Jesus, confessing to people that Christ is not the Lord. Also it is a time where there will be a lot of unsound doctrine that will put many children of God to darkness. I PRAY THAT HIS GRACE WILL BE MADE PERFECT ON US IN JESUS NAME.
  • Brianna on 1 Timothy 4:13 - 9 years ago
The three activities mentioned here can really help us to survive and exercise long suffering till Jehovah God acts. Public reading can be applied to our reading the bible daily. This where we draw strength and comfort. Also! At Matthew 28: 19,20 Christ gave his disciples a command to teach and preach about God 's kingdom. So we can help come to a righteous standing before God.
