Ecclesiasticus 40:7 Context

⁵Wrath, and enuie, trouble and vnquietnesse, feare of death, and anger, and strife, and in the time of rest vpon his bed, his night sleepe doe change his knowledge. ⁶A litle or nothing is his rest, and afterward he is in his sleepe, as in a day of keeping watch, troubled in the vision of his heart, as if he were escaped out of a battell: ⁷When all is safe, he awaketh, and marueileth that the feare was nothing. ⁸[Such things happen] vnto all flesh, both man and beast, and that is seuen fold more vpon sinners. ⁹Death and bloodshed, strife and sword, calamities, famine, tribulation, and the scourge:
