Ecclesiasticus 40:8 Context

⁶A litle or nothing is his rest, and afterward he is in his sleepe, as in a day of keeping watch, troubled in the vision of his heart, as if he were escaped out of a battell: ⁷When all is safe, he awaketh, and marueileth that the feare was nothing. ⁸[Such things happen] vnto all flesh, both man and beast, and that is seuen fold more vpon sinners. ⁹Death and bloodshed, strife and sword, calamities, famine, tribulation, and the scourge: ¹⁰These things are created for the wicked, and for their sakes came the flood.
