People's Bible Notes for Ephesians 5:5
Eph 5:5 No whoremonger, nor unclean person. "No fornicator" (Revised Version). No person of licentious life, words or thoughts. Nor covetous man, who is an idolater. See PNT "Eph 5:3". The covetous man gives his heart to the object of his greed rather than to God, and hence is virtually an idolater. Hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. None of these are heirs of the kingdom and hence have no promise of heaven.
