1Woe to the rebellious children, sayth the Lord, that take counsell, but not of mee; and that couer with a couering, but not of my Spirit, that they may adde sinne to sinne: 2That walke to goe downe into Egypt, (and haue not asked at my mouth) to strengthen themselues in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt. 3Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt, your confusion.

30:1 The rebellious - The Jews. Take counsel - That consult together. Cover - That seek protection. But not - Not such as by my spirit, speaking in my word, I have required them to do.
