32The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doores to the trauailer. 33If I couered my transgressions, as Adam: by hiding mine iniquitie in my bosome: 34Did I feare a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrifie me: that I kept silence, and went not out of the doore? 35O that one would heare me! beholde, my desire is, that the Almightie would answere me, and that mine aduersary had written a booke. 36Surely I would take it vpon my shoulder, and bind it as a crowne to me.

31:34 Did I fear - No: all that knew Job knew him to be a man of resolution, that boldly appeared, spoke and acted, in defence of religion and justice. He durst not keep silence, or stay within, when called to speak or act for God. He was not deterred by the number, or quality, or insults of the injurious, from reproving them, and doing justice to the injured.
