Wesley's Notes for Matthew 26:60

26:60 Yet found they none - On whose evidence they could condemn him to die. At last came two false witnesses - Such they were, although part of what they said was true; because our Lord did not speak some of those words at all; nor any of them in this sense.

People's Bible Notes for Matthew 26:60

Mt 26:60,61 But found none. That is, witnesses who would testify to a capital offense and agree in their testimony. At the last came two. These two gave a perverted version of what Christ had said concerning his death and the resurrection of his own body under the figure of a temple. See Joh 2:19. But even their testimony disagreed (Mr 14:59).
