BSP; This is the Ideal, that the one generation would so know the LORD and walk with Him REALLY, so as to have to give to their children. This puts a very grave responsibility upon the father and mother to be more than "name only" Christians, or that they should merely try to fulfill an outward surface level obligation for Church Membership; and that they would actually KNOW what they teach.
Verse 14: This verse shows that children should not be expected to provide their parents with a life of ease. Parent should be balanced in what they expect from their children.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong
The thorn in the flesh, he says, was the messenger of Satan. To buffet him. So he wouldn't lift himself up to be noticed. Christ must always be our object, as Christians.
I'm being led to believe that the man he's referencing, not saying whether he was in body or spirit, being caught up to the 3rd heaven, was actually Enoch
For God is love and we are saved by his grace. Thanks to Jesus for his precious blood that shed for us, his resurrection, his ascencion and the Holy Spirit. God loves us and he will never leave us nor forsake us. We must obey his words and listen to his words for his words are powerful like a sword. Our faith comes only be hearing God 's words. to meditate his words day and night are more powerful than the prayer. Jesus loves you and he is always guiding us to the Living water. I love you Jesus Amen
Talks about Paul.We have to have grace and mercy to be able to carry on and do Gods will. All we need is Faith the size of a mustard seed.He said ask,and it shall be given.
My grace is sufficient for thee Grow in grace and in our lord JESUS CHRIST Paul ask three times GOD told him his grace is sufficient. What is grace-Grace is the opportunity to get closer to GOD. What do we do with grace-grow-grow in grace grow in grace and in the knowledge of our lord and savior JESUS CHRIST BE NOT CONFORM BUT TRANSFORM
We are saved by God 's grace. All the battles belongs to Jesus, thefore we must have faith in him and believe Jesus that he is the Son of the Living God who have redeemed and pardoned our sins. Thanks to Jesus for his precious blood that shed for us and his resurrection. We must be Born Again in Spirit and invite the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. We must trust the Lord our God forever and lean not with our own understanding . For He is God that deserves to be worship and be praised. Thanks be to God Amen
God does not just let troubles off us at our on time but at his own due time. the only good part of it is that he enables us to pass thru fire by his grace being sufficient to us.
Paul says in verse 7 "the flesh " thats certainly physical. Paul 's health was fragile and he was accompanied on his journeys by Luke who was a physician.
I do not think this "thorn in the flesh " is physical. I 'm wondering if Paul had thoughts about himself that were what we might call "self-righteous " due to so many revelations Paul had been given and these thoughts were encouraged by satan. Paul recognizing such self-righteous thoughts were not of God kept him humble and more suited to the ministry.
The Lord is so good. I ove this verse. He saves us from our wretchedness and by His grace takes what is weak and sinful and makes it stringer and in many cases becomes the very thing that most shows His grweatness in our lives. I know that for me the very thing I needed the most forgiveness and grace from is the thing He is uskng to show Himself in me. Thank you Lord for always working in me.
Clear insights on two vital truths....Paul had tremendous faith yet God chose not to heal his thorn in the flesh....God does not always heal no matter how much Christians feel enough faith leads to automatic healing... 2 Paul gives here a clear revelation of his vision of heaven...the "man I knew " is obviously himself....his vision is in exact description of "eye has not seen nor ear heard the things that God has prepared for them that love Him "...most people 's out of body experiences of them running around heaven is sheer nonsense unless they also admit an impossible ability to describe in words what heaven is like just like Paul experience by God 's grace!!!!!
Paul is talking about visions and revelations that people have. He tells of an experience that a man told Paul about 14 years earlier. Paul makes the point that the man was glorifing himself while claiming these new revelations that are not backed by any other apostles teachings. He could not tell if this man was in the body, of christ, or not meaning he was not sure these were accurate words of God and stated only God knows. Paul passed along the information but did not glorify himself while telling people about it because he had his doubts if it was true or not. Verse 6, Paul did not want to be a fool if the story the man told was false. This was an incredible claim the man had made above the measure of the abundance of revelations that Paul knew were true. It did not fit to the teachings of Jesus. Verse 12 shows that followers of Jesus had been shown signs and Paul was aware of that. So he did glorify the man by putting his claim in scripture and telling people about it. He did not want to be the judge if this new information was right or wrong lest he be judged infirm in the truth. Since Paul had his doubts so do I. The lesson Paul is teaching is listen and accept visions people say they have only if the new revelations fit the whole body of the teachings of Jesus, the true words of God. People that want to glorify themselves instead of God are probably not telling the truth.
What does he mean when he says, such an one caught up to the third heaven. Could this mean that there was or is 3 different earth ages? Could there have been a earth age before the one that we are in now? I know that there is still one more to come.
Looks like Paul wanted the revelations to stop so the persecution would stop. God needed the revelation in the earth, and someone had to pay the price, just as all great reformers had done prior to Paul, and have since as well. 2 Cor 12 is about Revelations, not thorns.
