@Twaslima,
When you preach the gospel to the unsaved and they reject it and then die in their sin, when judgment day comes they will have no excuses and will stink before God just as the sacrifices in old testament times when Israelis offered blemished or lame sheep or goats or bullocks. Hope it helps?
Christ always gives us the triumph where ever he sends us. Paul wants the believers at Corinth to forgive, and not let the devil take advantage of them for their lack of forgiveness. We are the aroma of Christ for life to those who believe the gospel. Yet to those who will not believe the gospel, we are the aroma of death. Paul did not allow his afflictions to stop him from preaching the gospel, but instead when he did not find Titus in Troas, he kept on preaching in Macedonia.
God wants us to have that same spirit, just as Jesus told the Church, at Philidelphia that he placed before them an open door. Even though that
Church had a little strenght they were faithful to get the gospel out. We must do the same, and not allow afflictions to discourage us from doing what God has given us the grace to do. We have the victory in Jesus, because he rose from the dead with all power. He has given us that same victory to complete the task of getting the gospel to the whole world.
MY THOUGHTS IN MY MINISTERING IS, "I TAKE GOD'S WORD AS IF IT IS TALKING TO ME PERSONALLY, AND APPLYING GOD'S WORD TO TODAY. IN THIS CHAPTER, (TO ME) IN MINISTERING GOD'S WORD - GOD'S WANTS US TO BE READY WHEN HE COMES, AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHOM WE LOVE WILL NOT BE READY
In answer to the comment of 12/10/2010 at 6:43- Iudge not those deemed "non-believers", but rather come to them as brothers. The first letter of iudgment gives clue as to who offers it and of whom who bears it. Also, diuide not among those of whom one believes will be perishing for such iudgments offered bring vnto thee neverending death. Believers offering death's aromatic smells of decaying meat and skunky garbage that is hate, decaying plants and garbage that is sorrow, and decaying cabbagey smelling garbage that is fear will all one day come to know the meaning of Christ's offer of Salvation for one's Sins to each and every one of us. To diuide those of whom are like us in every way is to place you between I.
when you read from verses15-16, The Bible talks about we- believers being the aroma of death unto those who are perishing. Exactly, how can some one who is supposed to preach to the non believers be their aroma leading to death?
