2 Esdras is not in the cannon and should not be taken serious as scripture from the inspiration of God. That being said, I believe that the man is Jesus. It seems to be a vision of when Jesus cam back after the tribulation, seven days signifying seven years.
I hope this helps, but again I do not believe that the apocrypha is from God. I know they were originally in the Bible, but were taken our because of their error. I encourage you to compare scripture with scripture. The word must be built upon and must have the same doctrine or else it will cause error. I say this not to offend you, but to encourage you read the Bible that is commonly accepted as to not cause any error in your belief of who God truly is ( 2 Timothy 3:16). The apocrypha can cause a misconception that God is not the same as the cannon believes, when the Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Isaiah 28:9-14a
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
amos 5 says beyong damascus but yea them being deported to that spot would explain the yoruba but not the whole nk because latinos and natives got proof for them being northern kingdom israelites aswell
heres the thing right 2esdras 13:45 says it took over a year and a half assyrya to west africa dont seem like it would take them a year and a half ,assyria to america do tho .
From my research Assarat is in Niger West Africa that is were the biblical TEN TRIBES were taken and they still live there today by the Afara/Efara River ie the River Niger and Benue, called Euphrates by scholars. Another Bible verse that supports that the TEN TRIBES are in West Africa is 2 Kings 17:6;18:11 here the places the were deported were mentioned. Gozan(Gozange) is in Sokoto in Nigeria, Habor(Abor and Agbor) these two places are in Enugu/Delta state in Nigeria, Hala(Alala in Niger) , Medes/media(Maday in Cameroon). Another witness is Amos 5:27 which says Israel(TEN TRIBES) will be carried into Captivity to Damascus. Now Damasak is what the translators changed to Damascus and is located in Yobe and Borno,Nigeria. Zephaniah 3:10 also says the disperse are deyound/across the Rivers(Nile River) of Ethiopia/Cush. Across the Rivers of Ethiopa is in West Africa.
So where would they have traveled of not to America?... Mind u it wasn't even named that until Europeans step foot on the soil of this land. And the count less ancient inscriptions of the name of YHWH written all over America... From the Mayans, to the so called native Americans and more bread crumbs that leans to the conclusion that Israelites was over here.
I have had numerous conversations with Hebrew Israelites who would like me to believe that the 10 tribes cross the entire ocean to America. I must say after studying the text there is nothing in there that would suggest that they travelled 11,000 nautical miles to America.
I asked them to consider reading 2nd Chron 30 where King Hezekiah sent letters to all of Judah and Israel and invited them to come up to Jerusalem to keep passover.
After reading the chapter it is obvious to men that at least 6 of the tribes are in the region that the bible describes as "escaping the hands of the Assyrians"
v18 says "a multitude of people" from the 10 tribes got involved in the passover.
King Hezekiah began to reign over Judah in the thid year of King Hoshea's reign over Israel.
So apart from the fact that the 10 tribes crossed the Euphrates I would like to READ proof of them crossing the ocean into the Americas
Paul, the Apocryphal Books were not included in the Canon of Scripture (i.e. what the learned men over the centuries, & particularly in the 16th Century during the Protestant Reformation, deemed were the authoritative books to make up our Bible today). They used various criteria to arrive at their decision. Some of these: were the authors genuine, known, & confirmed by other writings; were the texts given in harmony with other Scriptures; did the texts have any errors that were in conflict with accepted Scriptures; what was the background & influences that the authors faced in initiating those books; & probably many more.
If you do an examination of the Apocryphal Books, as listed here in KJB Online, you will see some differences, a few quite glaring. But if you can't spend the time, I'm sure others have done it & have posted online for you to check out the Scriptures. In relation to 1 & 2 Esdras, I did a quick search & Compelling Truth dot org have given a short write-up.
In some other Bibles, particularly the Roman Catholic edition, you will find the Apocryphal Books alongside 'our Bible', as much of their beliefs & practises stem from those books which are not found in the Canon of Scripture, e.g. purgatory. Personally, I don't refer to those 'spurious' books as one has to be very astute & knowledgeable to pick up on some errors contained there & I have enough of a struggle coping with the Bible & its vital messages, let alone adding more to challenge me or lead me astray. I don't say that those books are rife with errors, but be careful as you read them & always come back to the Word of God.
I was told the 10 tribes went to America but I can't see anywhere in the verses where that is possible, and not only that verse 47 says they will return the same way they left.
I'm a little puzzled how the Hebrew Israelites movement believe the 10 tribes travelled to America from the river Euphrates and within a few the bible says a multitude of some of the tribes are in communication with king Hezekiah.
I think these verses are parallel to 2nd Kings 18:9-12 and he took them by the river Gozan BEFORE they entered the Euphrates river which is in Iran. They then passed through a country...and the same region was called Arsareth.
This is all being done ON FOOT a year and a half of travelling...this is not talking about America as the Hebrew Israelites try to get us to believe.
Part 2: We know they have the Priory of Scion and refer to the 3rd Temple as "Sion", so 2nd Esdras and 2nd Thessalonians, is what Paul based his Epistle on in my opinion is this very subject. Yes, Abaddon, ascending, and Jesus descends from heaven.
It is my understanding of 2nd Esdras Chapter 13, concerning the latter days. Well, first of we know not all Israel are Israel and is now of the heart and no physical nation since Jesus made the new covenant in him, and so we also know the Gnostics and Luciferians of the 7 sacred sciences that all derived from Nimrods one world government against God specifically in religion, would be the Ones ...
Tribulation Started Mainly When The Word Became Flesh. Christ Warned His Followers They Will have Tribulation and to Endure Until The End. Read Matthew 24 and Revelation 6. Most Believe The Seals are in The Future. The First 4 Seals have Been Opened. 6:8 Power was Given to Them to Take Peace, to Kill, to Make Life Miserable On 25 of The Planet, That's What is Happening Now.
This is by far one of my favorite books of the Apocrypha. This chaper in particular outlines the powerful Return of Christ and what will take place when He comes back and judges the nations and their world armies against the remnant of the children of Israel. I would also love to see it on the movie screen some day. Shalom.
i am finding this describing the anti-Christ while claiming it is Jesus Christ. is this book a doctrine of demons? 2 Esdra 13: 25 This is the meaning of the vision: Whereas thou sawest a man coming up from the midst of the sea: 32 then shall my Son be declared, whom thou sawest as a man ascending. 51 Then said I, O Lord that bearest rule, shew me this: Wherefore have I seen the man coming up from the midst of the sea? key words: ascending, and from the sea - - - - 2 Esdra 13: 32 the signs shall happen which I shewed thee before, 50 And then shall he shew them great wonders. key words: signs, wonders - - - - Revelation 17:8 The beast ... shall ascend out of the bottomless pit Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, - - - - 2 Thessalonians 2 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, - - - - Mark 13:26 26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. Revelation 1:7 7 Behold, he cometh with clouds - - - - the anti-Christ ascends from below up to earth 's surface, and he rises from the sea. Jesus descends from Heaven down to earth 's surface, He comes in the clouds, is seen in the sky not the sea. please do your own study, and pray.
