Have you given consideration to Matthew 24:22 ?

And after you do consider that precedes Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days..."

    Mark 13:20 reads the same

He loves you. He wants you to live in heaven with Him, forever. He already paid for your being able to accept His invitation.

He's not willing that any one person should die eternally. He's ready to save everybody right now.

In 2 Peter 3, you will see that which global mankind is fearful of, is going to happen on Earth. It is NOT global warming. Time is ticking down, and the earth is on "pre warm" much like an oven we preheat for our pizza.

It's happening now and global leaders are trying to force us to believe they have answers on how to stop it. They cannot! This warming is ordained by God. Recorded in the Bible.

    Excerpt from 2 Peter 3:9-13

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent HEAT, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be BURNED UP.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness?

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being ON FIRE shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent HEAT?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for NEW heavens and a NEW earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."

Making Jesus your Savior and Lord is the only way to escape this. Trust Jesus today. We all did.

Could you survive 7 years of Gods wrath: little food, no fresh water. Falling stars slamming into earth; asteroids and global wars with nukes.

No! but we are in the 5th Trumpet sound whereby all 5 seals are being poured out on the earth.

We are getting close to a One World Government but not 7 yrs close (IMO) biblical prophecy not yet fulfilled.
  • Daniel - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6 - 2 years ago
The answer comes down to the question: Will the Church Go Through the Tribulation?

No. The New Testament Church, the Body of Christ, will NOT go through the Tribulation period. By "Tribulation" I am referring to the Biblically prophesied 7-year time period (referred to in the Bible as "the time of Jacob's trouble"). This 7-year period precedes the Millennial reign of Christ. It is during this 7-year period that the Antichrist (the Beast) will rule the world, leading up to the Battle of Armageddon at the end. The Antichrist will be a 100% Satan possessed individual.

The Beast system is being formed today, which is often referred to as the "New World Order." The Church will be removed from the earth BEFORE the appearing of the Antichrist ( 2nd Thessalonians 2:7,8). There isn't one verse in the entire Bible which indicates that the Church will go through the Tribulation period. Rather, the Apostle Paul stated in 1st Thessalonians 4:16-18...

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

Carefully notice that Paul's message was intended to "COMFORT one another." If the Church was going to go through the horrible atrocities of the Tribulation, then these words certainly wouldn't be very comforting. Also, it is important to note that God wouldn't destroy the wicked in Noah's day until Noah and his family were all safely aboard the ark. Not one drop of rain fell until Noah and his family were on the ark, and God had shut the door. Afterwards, the rains fell and the wicked were utterly destroyed.

As much as it may seem...we're not in the tribulation yet...but I believe we are in the last days.
  • THE LAST DAYS - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6 - 2 years ago
I think we will see the beginning of tribulation. There is more insight in the Book of Revelation.

    * Matthew 24, Luke 21, and the Parable of the Ten Virgins, told by Jesus.

So if it happens during the SEVEN TRUMPETS__we will see difficult happenings.

*if we keep our eyes on this and current events on news channels (Erik Stacklebeck) who reports news in Israel, we will not be caught unaware. "Jerusalem Post" news has too many aggressive advertisements now.

Do you believe that we are now in Tribulations? That we only have 7 years left on earth? Then the Rapture takes place.

    Thank you.
  • Chris - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6 - 2 years ago
Hello Veronica. We don't have a lot of information on extra-biblical books such as Esdras & others, as they were written either in the inter-testamental period (OT Apocrypha) or in the post-biblical period (NT Apocrypha). Esdras is said to have been written in the former, by the prophet Ezra, but this is not certain, as some claim that it was a post-NT writing.

As part of the other NT Apocrypha writings, we also find the Gospel of Barnabas, Gospel of Mary, Gospel of Thomas, the Traditions of Mathias, & many many others. There are some truths in them, but also much that is untrue, therefore they have not been allowed into the Canon of Scripture. Anyone reading them, needs to be very discerning, always comparing what they read with what is written in the Books of the Bible, pertaining to their relevance under the Old or the New Covenants of God.

where did this book come from
  • Karin on 2 Esdras 6 - 2 years ago
Short answer ,It wasn't added because it wasn't appealing to the Heathen .The Apocrypha tells you exactly who ESAU is.. However, shout-out to Biblical Israel ( Isaiah 11:12:And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the Dispersed of JUDAH from the four corners of the earth.). Our redemption is near . (Baruch 2:30 For I knew that they would not hear me, because it is a stiffnecked people: but in the land of their Captivities they shall remember themselves.) HalleluYah. P.s. shout-out to the Gentiles who accept and preach Truth.
  • Chris - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6 - 2 years ago
Yes Gavin, 1 & 2 Esdras are not included in the Canon of Holy Scripture because they, alongwith some other writings, did not meet the strict criteria for their inclusion. I believe that the Roman Catholic Bible doesn't include 1 & 2 Esdras either, but they are found in some Greek Orthodox, Episcopal & Lutheran Bibles. And these Esdras books & others are considered apocryphal, which means, "hidden", & were rejected for their dubious authority, authors & events.

Leviathan cannot be Lucifer because 2Esdra 6:52 says that he is kept to be devoured if whom thou wilt and when. Compare that to Psalm 74:14.

The scriptures show that Leviathan is a creature to be used for food

Enoch walked with God. He was taken to heaven without suffering death.

You're talking about Apocrypha books that we're not allowed into the King James Bible.

Nimrod started a whole snake pit of evil; and the Chaldeans. There is nothing but trouble reading of those things. I was rescued out of the occult, and principalities and the demonic do not need to be studied by Christians! They will try to steal your soul. Leave it alone.

The Book of Enoch is not the Enoch that was taken to heaven.

There's too much other wonders to study in the BIBLE. Next you'll be writing us asking about huge invisible creatures that levitate beds with you in it; and worse.

Sorry...forgot to paste in the scriptures for my last question about Enoch and Leviathan:

Upon the fifth day thou saidst unto the seventh part, where the waters were gathered that it should bring forth living creatures, fowls and fishes: and so it came to pass.

48For the dumb water and without life brought forth living things at the commandment of God, that all people might praise thy wondrous works.

    49Then didst thou ordain two living creatures, the one thou calledst Enoch, and the other Leviathan;

50And didst separate the one from the other: for the seventh part, namely, where the water was gathered together, might not hold them both.

51Unto Enoch thou gavest one part, which was dried up the third day, that he should dwell in the same part, wherein are a thousand hills:

52But unto Leviathan thou gavest the seventh part, namely, the moist; and hast kept him to be devoured of whom thou wilt, and when.
  • Dwight Macon on 2 Esdras 6 - 3 years ago
Who are the two "living creatures" God created in the scriptures below? If this "creation" is chronological--as it appears to be, then Adam was created AFTER this Enoch and Leviathan. I think I know who Leviathan is (Lucifer?), but WHO is Enoch?

Premature babies could not survive thousands of years ago, Uriel is clearly referring to these last days when science and technology allows babies to live and therefore 'leap and jump about'. Also he predicts that 'Fire shall break out in many places'; we are clearly at the beginning of the end times folks !

He is taking to Esdras. And this is saying any nation outside of the ISRAELITES are compared to spit. Isaiah 40:17 says the same thing. The text in 2 Esdras 6:55-56 it gets more specific about who GOD is NOT call spit
  • Prosper on 2 Esdras 6 - 4 years ago
    @ Charlie

The Most High is talking about the other nations. Whoever is not a part of The Twelves of Israel. The Most High only cares about The Children of Israel. He does not care about the other nations. That is why He has likened their abundance to spittle and a drop.

    Supporting Precept ( Isaiah 40:17)
  • Charlie on 2 Esdras 6:56 - 4 years ago
56As for the other people, which also come of Adam, thou hast said that they are nothing, but be like unto spittle: and hast likened the abundance of them unto a drop that falleth from a vessel.

WHO IS GOD TALKING TO AND WHAT DOES HE MEAN BY THIS VERSE.

  • Mishael on Religion VS Relationship - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6:9 - 4 years ago
That's not really an issue. All people have a responsibility to seek a relationship with God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Some people settle for a religion. Beliefs and Good Works May distract you from entering into a RELATIONSHIP with the Savior: who promises eternal life upon being born again. As it is clearly set forth in John chapter 3.

Your spirit is not even alive unto God, until Jesus Christ's life is made alive in you by making the confession in John 3. Write it down: that's the date you were born again. Your spirit is connected to God through Jesus.

To pray, confess sins (we all need to; nobody is perfect yet). Run to 1 John 8-10.

    Hebrews 4:16, Hebrews 7:25,

    Hebrews 10: 19-23 & Hebrews 10:25

We go to church or home fellowships

Acts chapter 1: 42-47. People need to hear your testimony of how you came to believe.

Why do Catholics not believe in the rapture and Protestants do?
  • Chris - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6:9 - 4 years ago
You're correct that the naming of the days in the week does not necessarily equate to the numbered days of creation. In fact, I doubt if any one in any era, when calendars, stellar observances & other calculations were first employed, could correctly identify & assign those original days. With the many calendars that are around, we have to conclude that trying to figure out that question by searching in their roots, will be an impossible task without any evidence to appeal to.
  • Ronald A Foster - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6:9 - 4 years ago
Thanks for your reply. The question of exactly what day the numbered days are assigned to still can not be claimed by our present society. The six days of creation and the seventh day of rest is not in question at all.

It's the fact that "man" added those Teutonic names to the numbers, which of course could have started on any of those numbers.
  • Chris - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6:9 - 4 years ago
Ronald, I understand that our Latin/Teutonic naming of days from the pantheon of gods, is simply that - just names. If we were to remain faithful to the Scriptural account, then we should indeed refer to our week of days as Day 1, Day 2, etc. & not by the heathen names. Sadly, to use this type of reference, would make us appear to the general populace as highly peculiar.

So, if the Sabbath (God's Day of resting from His creating Work) is clearly seen as the 7th Day (& using this as our reference point), then it follows that the 1st Day of the week was the Resurrection Day & the Day observed by the early Christians for worship. The fact that it was deemed necessary to add the names of gods to those days is just something that we have to live with.

Don't know if the above specifically or adequately answers your question.
  • Ronald A Foster - In Reply on 2 Esdras 6:9 - 4 years ago
With all due respect, my authority is the Holy Scriptures specifically the Original African Heritage Edition KJV. (Not excluding other translations). I measure everything else written using this Bible as my truth.

Of course there is much one can learn from other written materials in any field of study but something as serious as the subject we are discussing...adding to or replacing is not something I want to venture into. God our creator preceded all of the writers of the past, present and future. His words are what I stand on and base my life on and through the shedding of the blood of His Son Jesus Christ I have been saved.

If God says it, I have enough faith to believe it. If He didn't say it or it isn't written through Him, I have to question it.

    Thanks for responding
