It is okay Mark to read the apocryphal books, as you would read many other similar writings. But there were important reasons why they were not allowed into the Canon of Scripture. Reasons such as, apostolic authorship, non-recognition of those books by the Jews, the apostles, even the Lord Himself, historical errors, doctrinal errors, etc., prompted their non-acceptance; even though those books are recognized & incorporated by Roman Catholics & some orthodox churches in their Bibles.

Tobit (I think you meant to write that) & 1 & 2 Maccabees are amongst those with some errors - not many, yet one needs to have a watchful eye & be led of God's Spirit when reading any material not found in the Word of God that we have in our hands now.

is reading a bible version with the book of two bit and the books of maccabes Bad or is it ok???

Great commentary, and perspective

David's life was quite complex . He sinned more than once and even though God forgave him , there were still consequences that had to b endured . Because David failed to apply the law correctly when his son Amnon raped his daughter Tamar , this gave occasion for all of Israel including Absalom who was Tamar's brother , to speak against David . And my guess is that they did , Absalom was handsome and he had a just cause in the case of his sister . The seeds were sown hear . It's all very much typical human behaviour . If u have laws then they should b for everyone and should always b applied perfectly . There was no place for forgiveness in the law of Moses . David , as a type of Christ , points to the new covenant of forgiveness in Christ . David is forgiven for his sin regarding Bathsheba and her husband , David forgives his son Amnon but fails to take into account that Absalom and many others probably wanted the law to be applied properly . This is what happens when we try to mix the two covenants , it gets complicated . If we r for the law then we must b for all the law and stick to them all perfectly . We can't pick and choose which laws we r happy with and which we feel like ignoring , or we end up in the same kind of mess that David did . Christ is our righteousness . If righteousness could b achieved under the law then we wouldn't have any need for Christ . He would have died a pointless death .

I can see, the ripple affects of sin. After David and his sin with Bathsheba, it seemed like God took off his protection from his family, even Absalom went against him. Let's not take sin lightly, because the ripple affects are devastating.

That is an interesting question. That is in line with the death of many children; before the age of accountability in scripture which in some cases was demanded as part of the destruction of surrounding nations. Ultimately; it can be established that SPIRITUAL death (which is the ultimate punishment of the wicked) is a factor in this chapter-as the righteous and their earthly death is NOT mentioned. That eliminates children from entering hell before the age of accountability; and in fact David's attitude after the period of mourning and fasting indicates that "He cannot go to me; but I shall go to him." It also is instructive that the proper response to David's adultery and consent to the murder of Uriah demonstrated grace; as there was nothing in the law that could prevent being stoned for such an act of treason. It would be better stated that the child's death was a result of David's sin; kind of like a collateral damage. The child certainly was not told he would die because of his own sin; nor as stated above was it any scriptural method to deal with David's sin. Therefore he wasn't held accountable for David's sin; but died as a result of it. Perhaps something as simple as not being protected from illnesses leading to death; or other factors were due to a hedge of protection being removed as a result of David's actions. (Actually the passage is 2 Samuel 12). Nathan's reason of God doing this indicating David's contempt for the Lord or as KJV says reason to blaspheme (v. 14) the child would die. Verse 13 indicates BEFOREHAND David's sin was already forgiven and he shall not die. Perhaps the Hittites related to Uriah would rightly see a righteous man sacrificing himself for the sake of Israel necessitating vengeance. This seems like God's way of vindicating them; who in this case were righteous rather than the King of His chosen nation who needed to be held accountable. Also, Deut. 29:29 shows mysteries of God that we cannot comprehend.

I think that David had 8 wives. Solomon had 800 wives and concubines.

David had like 800 wives but maybe because he sinned and slept with a married women and had her husband killed, your sins affect your children, The sins of the father our visited upon the children.

I hope we all can learn from David,he made some mistakes,yes,but he OWNED them and didn't blame GOD for His own ACTIONS and choices,GOD doesn't just follow through with things bc we pray and ask,he also follows through with HIS words,and when we stray from this path,we stray from the straight and narrow,GOD will put us where he wants us,either u can go willgly or struggle and have hardship,U PICK.

What a hard time for David. It is prophesy fulfilled: 2 Samuel 12: 11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. 12 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

David was reaping what he had sown by killing an innocent man and committing adaultry.

Absolom went in meaning he had sex w David s wives then when David s kingdom was restored to him these wives were separated from the rest because they had been defiled by Solomon then David had no more marital relations with them

2 Samuel 16 V 22 Stated Absalom went in on to the kings concubines and chapter 20 verse 3stated that they were shut up until death.
