Notice Paul said he has finished the race, not that he beat everyone else...he finished the race and he kept the faith. The fight is with our (my) individual demons of darkness and his (our) prize is knowing we have kept the faith.
As we fight the good fight of faith there are victories and defeats. We sometimes have to regroup and get direction from our Commander. In the end we plant our flag, as it were, at the top of the hill. The final victory is ours, to the praise of HIS glory.
Paul did not say that he had won a fight or that he had won the race. He did say that he had finished her course. His course was unique to him. His is not the same as yours or mine. In the Christian race, finishing is the important thing. In Matthew 24:13 we read "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." But alas, so many people never enter the race and this is a race that can only be entered into by invitation. I believe the HOLY SPIRIT call is to everyone but so many do not heed the call. In Matthew 22:14 we read "For many are called, but few are chosen."
I have been blessed from the preach of the word of God by Pastor Olonde, the book of 2 Timothy 4:7. We should not go to church just because of miracles that are performed in the church, but let’s go to church so that we can praise and worship the Lord, God almighty.

Paul is giving his swan song, to Timothy about his time to depart this world, and to be faithful to preach the word in season, as well as out of season. The time will come when they will not endure the truth, but will want teachers with itching ears. All have forsaken him except Luke, and Paul wants everyone to know that the Lord Jesus Christ will judge the living, and the dead at His appearing for the Church in the rapture, as well as the sheep and goat judgment at His Kingdom. We must be faithful until the end, and the Lord will give all those who love His appearing the Crown of Righteousness.
@Mr/Mrs Alex,
Nobody can deliver you, and bring back your wife’s good health but Jesus Christ.
We as men and women of God are lifting you in our prayer, but only God shall set you free and heal your wife in Christ Jesus.
That’s what we are doing right now, praying for you and your wife.
However, we would like you to involve men and women of God of your community too. We believe they will not only pray for you as we are doing, but they can counsel you too, and make it easier for you.
Trust and Obey.
God bless you.
PAUL tells it like it is ..EVEN though he was abandoned by many ,he stayed the course.he even warned others of dangers ahead,awesome.DO WE DO THAT ENOUGH TODAY.DO I RISK REJECTION BY TELLING SOMEONE OF AN OBSTACLE IN THERE SURROUNDINGS?.PAUL has "INTEGRITY".
First hunting for Saint Dimas this Dimas came up; My thoughts after Paul reprimanded Corinth for divisive ways[Paul, Apollos, Cephas & Christ] and itching ear prefferences. Here was division in reality. Exactly what Dimas was going to do in Thessalonica is not clear. However since spiritual wickedness in high places goes on undetected and covered up as righteous acts of Christians. We might deduct a seed and roots of a new religion was born out of his departure. Hence San Dimas is not really the pennitent thief crucified with Jesus but the real founder of the Catholic Church.
yes this chapeter very good. and encourage for a leadership, i like the instructions which paul givn to timothy. pls send me more encourageing scripture.
A remarkable passage at Chapter 4, Verses 6-8. Here was a man of God reflecting on his time, well spent with good works. Imagine the comfort he must have drawn from knowing that his release from mortality was drawing ever closer.

When the Jews returned from Babylon, many of the jews were married to women of other nations and their children could not speak the jewish language. Nehemiah was angry with them and cursed them saying that they should not intermarry with them.( Nehemiah 13) Also, there were people brought into Israel(Israel went into captivity before Judah) after the nation was scattered abroad and priests were brought back to minister unto them. It is said that they worshipped their own gods and the God of Israel. 2 Kings 18 These were the people who lived in Samaria and were eventually called Samaritans.
