I understand what you are saying but to say someone who has followed acts 2 38 but doesn 't speak in tongues is wrong. In the first century not all spoke in tongues. Some had other gifts. Not all are a head. Not all are feet nor hands or we would not have a body. The Holy Spirit has brought me along and helps me grow fruit for Christ. I am maturing daily. I have been persecuted for the cause of Christ. I love Him. He is my Savior. You cannot take Christ away from me. The Holy Spirit has helped my prayers to go deeper in Christ. I have seen thousands of answers to prayers. Christ is my redeemer.

Part 6 of 7 People are now trying to rewrite the King James Version and edit out what it takes to get saved. They have Bibles that edit out the blood of Jesus Christ. They have changed so many words around until some of the scriptures and their true meanings are hardly recognizable. Who do you think is behind this? It is not God. God is not in these new fangled Bibles that leave out important events, Him, and salvation. There is a new movement called Chrislam that is combining the Bible and the Quran. This is not of God. The Bible talks of the true God. The Quran talks of Ali. They are different. God lives.

Part 5 of 7 You have to do more than believe. You have to act on your beliefs and follow Acts 2 38. Faith without works is dead, James 2 17 and James 2 26. The devils believe and tremble, James 2 19, so just believing does not get a person into heaven. It really doesn t. If following Acts 2 38, were not so then God would not have let Luke write of the experience and the words of Peter in the Bible. Some people say that if everything was written in the Bible then it would be too big to carry. However, look at it from this point of view God let the most important things be carried down throughout time so that people can continue to get saved.

Part 4 of 7 I have studied a lot of religions and where they got their start, but there is only one faith and one name under heaven whereby we must all be saved, Ephesians 4 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism Acts 4 12 Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . The faith is truly believing in the Apostles doctrine and truly believing in Jesus Christ that he is both Lord and Christ.

Part 3 of 7 I do not know if the people of this website will print this but it is fact. All of my saved life, one thing I have come to know is that when God sends me to a place or brings people into my life and open up a door for me to speak he is trying to get someone s attention and correct a lot of things that have been taught incorrectly. This is my job. God s love, mercy, and grace are abundant, but death has no age or time limit on it. So God is trying to get people s attention before it is too late and there will not be any other chance. The reason people are not being filled because they have not felt that godly sorrow. They have not let go of the world in their hearts.

Part 2 of 7 Peter stated in Acts 2 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call , notice there is no time limit on this statement. During the Azusa Street Revival many were saved and filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke with other tongues as the spirit of God gave them utterance. Fast forward to now, God is still pouring out his spirit upon all flesh the problem is that a lot of people do not teach what it takes to get filled.

Part 1 of 7 Hello Joni G. A person cannot truly repent without first feeling godly sorrow which leads to repentance, 2 Corinthians 7 9 and 10. God looks at the heart of a person. When he knows that a person is ready then he truly fills that person with the Holy Ghost. The evidence that a person has received his gift is the speaking with other tongues as the spirit of God gives utterance. This was not just for them back in the Biblical days. This is for everyone even up until now and beyond until the rapture takes place.

There are some on this website that are saying you have to be filled with the holy ghost to be saved. The Bible teaches that you must believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized into Christ 's death. You receive the gift of the Holy Spirit at baptism like Acts 2 38. I know who I am in Christ. I am a blood bought sinner saved by grace. I don 't speak in tongues. That died out in the first century. The Holy Spirit guides me into all truth like the Bible says. When I was baptized into Christ 's death and raised with him when I came out of the water like Acts 2 38, I was also transferred into Christ 's kingdom. To say one is not saved if they don 't speak in tongues is error. I know the Bible does not teach that. I have studied the Bible since the early 60 's. I have a song in my heart and it is about Jesus. I am a child of the King. No one can take that away from me. God made a way for me.

Hello Jacob In addition to my 2 part response, the promise is for everyone, not just for the Jews. This is why God had it written that the first Gentiles to receive this promise were Cornelius house in Acts 10 44 thru 48. Paul is the Gentiles Apostle. 2 Timothy 1 11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. He baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. The point is that they all called on the name of the Lord. They did not use any of his titles. Acts 4 12 Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved .

Part 2 of 2 Colossians 3 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him . Baptism is a deed. It is an act in which you do. Therefore, even though it may not be written, because they are the Apostles I am very sure, through faith, that they did it. Another point to make is that there is nowhere in the Bible where a preacher baptized anyone calling the words Father, Son, and Holy Ghost over them. Not even when John the Baptist was baptizing. This is why I always say, Jesus stated it, Peter clarified it, and the Apostles carried it out. I was baptized with the preacher calling the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. I know the word is truth. I know that Acts 2 38 is the correct way for salvation.

Part 1 of 2 Hello Jacob I have pointed out at various different times the different people who followed Acts 2 38. I have never stated that you could not receive the Holy Ghost prior to baptism. I have even quoted Acts 10 44 thru 48 where Cornelius house was filled and then they were baptized. The point about the baptism is that it is necessary to have. You have to have the correct one. If you want to point out something it does not say in Acts 42 that they called out a name at all, but one would assume since Peter had just given the instructions on baptism then it was done the way he stated it. Also when Paul became a Christian, he baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, Acts 19 1 thru 7.

Acts 2 38 will send you to hell faster than a greased bullet. No one is saved that way again in the book of Acts. Jesus Christ was said in Acts 2 38, the Lord Jesus in Acts 8 16, in the name of the Lord in Acts 10 48, in Acts 19 5 baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Do you say Jesus name,or the Lord Jesus or the name of the Lord or what when you baptize? They received the Spirit at different times too. Some before baptism, some when hands were laid on them. This is a transitional time before the N.T. Scriptures were completed to CONFIRM THE WORD see Mk 16 20.See SIGNS for JEWS who require a SIGN see 1Cor 1 22. Tongue are for a SIGN 1 Cor 14 22 and Jews were always present when they were spoken. We don 't need SIGNS today, we walk by FAITH NOT BY SIGHT or SIGNS.

Hello James In order to be in the body of Jesus Christ you have to follow Acts 2 38. You have to be born of water and of spirit in order to get into heaven. You cannot even see the kingdom of God with being born again through water baptism and the Holy Ghost which is the spirit of God, John 3 1 thru 8.

For one sewth a seed and another worketh the field and still another reapest the harvest. All work as one member being the body of Christ.

Verse 26.. they wanted to chose a man that had been with Jesus and the other apostles, one that had the greatest knowledge of his teachings. There must have been a discussion during their selection of the person most qualified to teach the words of God. That person would also be witness to the resurrection, a key qualification for selection. Casting lots is not gambling, it is like casting a vote. The vote was given after the qualifications, the experiences and spiritual understanding, of the men were taken into consideration. To even be considered, both were honorable men. Since their role of an apostle depended on the person having good outgoing personality, one that could easily strike up a conversation with a stranger, perhaps this was taken into consideration also. To teach the word one can not be shy.

James, I hope that people believe in Acts 2 38 before it is to late. We are truly living in the last days. The tribulation period is going to be very bad. I hope that people get truly saved. I am preaching the Apostles Doctrine which began on the day of Pentecost. This is when the church began.
  • James on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
Part 2. I know this is strange to you because you were taught different all your life. But adjust to the Bible not the Bible to your beliefs. The gospel of the Kindgom of Heaven is for a literal set up of the Kingdom of Heaven thats why Jesus and John the Baptist said repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand in Matt 3 2and vs 17. It was literally at hand if they would have received it Matt 11 14. Now the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink, Rom 14 17, that is it 's not physical. But when the church is caught out see 1 Thess 4 16thru18 the Kingdom gospel will be preached again because it will be at hand again. The gospel went to the Jew first Matt 10 5. You are preaching a JEWISH gospel and not of the grace of God.
  • James on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
No mistake there. Jesus is STANDING at the right hand of the Father in vers 55 when he was sitting see Acts 2 34. The church age was a mystery revealed to Paul see Gal 1 11thru12 and Eph 3 3. Jesus could have came back in Acts 7 if they would have received Stephens message. After their rejection, God goes to the Gentiles and saved Paul to be their apostle Acts 9 15. He revealed this switch to Peter in Acts 10 and he agreed with Paul in Acts 15 6thru11. Now if you preach the gospel of the Kingdom and not of the grace of God you are preaching a false gospel for this church age and are cursed Gal 1 8thru9.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
Hello James I think you are mistaken, in reference to Acts Chapter 7. Stephen was a saint of God holding up the belief in Jesus Christ. Stephen was full of the Holy Ghost, Acts 6 5. Acts Chapter 7, Stephen was brought into the courts falsely accused of blasphemy. This chapter is dedicated to Stephen defense, recounts of the Old Testament before the Sanhedrin and for the belief in Christ. He was later stoned to death. We know that some Jews mostly those hypocrites of the higher order of the Jews did reject Christ. However, the Apostles were Jews. The first Gentiles that were filled with the Holy Ghost were Cornelius and his house, Acts Chapter 10.
  • James on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
Part 2. The Jews require a sign see 1 Cor 1 22 so tongues are given in chapters 2, 10, 19 to confirm to the Jews that Gentiles are able to get saved see Acts 10 45. Signs of an Apostle see 2 Cor 12 12 were given before the scriptures were completed to confirm Gods word See Mark 16 20. Once the words were given the signs died out see 1 Tim 5 23, 2 Tim 4 20 for examples. If you dont get this you will be deceived by the devil 2 Thess 2 9, Rev 13 12thru15. Hope this helps.
  • James on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
Acts is a transitional book. Follow Pauline doctrine for the chruch age saints. He is the apostle to the Gentiles. See Romans 11 13, 15 16,16 24, 1Tim 2 7, 2Tim 1 1, 2Tim 2 7. The Jews turned down the kingdom offered to them and the Lord forgave them Luke 23 34. Up to Acts 7 they are having the literal physical kindgdom offered again Acts 1 6. Thats why Jesus name babtism in Acts 2. They turn it down in Acts 7 and the transition goes to the Gentiles under the grace of God.

Hello Betty James 2 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. If a person just confess with their mouth and have not followed what Peter stated on the day of Pentecost Act 2 38, they are not saved. You must be born of water and spirit in order to get into heaven, John 3 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God . You have to have both, the water and the Spirit which is the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God give utterance. You have to have the correct baptism. Jesus said it, Peter clarified it and the Apostles carried it out. The preacher must say over you that I will now baptized you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Try to find a Holy Ghost filled church that follows Acts 2 38.
  • Betty on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
So, after receiving Jesus as our Savior and redeemer, is it required to have a baptism or are we baptised with the Holy Ghost and not necessarily water?
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Bill I would like to also add that the correct baptism is more than an illustration it is a deed in which man all of mankind has to do under this Grace Age that we are living in. You have to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. The whole salvation plan must be done in order to make it into heaven.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Bill I like your analogy of the sponge soaking up the water into itself. After you have repented, true repentance, then God according to the promise will give you the gift of the Holy Ghost. God is the only one that can give this gift. He is the only one that knows who has truly repented in his heart. After we repent we are like sponges we take it all in when he gives the Holy Ghost to us with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God gives us utterance. In John 7 37 thru 39 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture, hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive for the Holy Ghost was yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

Baptism is a matter of illustration. In our context of Acts 1 2, Jesus said, For John truly baptized with water but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost lit. the quality of the Spirit Acts 1 5 . Water baptism pictures Spirit baptism. When you believe in Jesus for salvation, Spirit baptism occurs as a matter of fact. Spirit baptism is immersion into Christ, thus clothing you with Christ Gal. 3 26 27 . The fact of this provision allows for the function of the life of faith disciples indeed that accesses the power of the Spirit. For example, when a sponge is immersed into water, it is inundated with the water as the water moves into the sponge. Likewise, when you were immersed into Christ, you were inundated with Christ as the Spirit of Christ moved into you. This gift is given at salvation so that you may take from this inexhaustible provision for the rest of your life. Water baptism illustrates this wonderful reality. That is why after Peter told his audience to Repent first event , and then be baptized second event on the basis of the forgiveness of sins, he also told them to receive lit. take the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 2 38 .

Let me clarify when I say Mary has no power. She was filled with the Holy Ghost which is the power from Jesus Christ. This is the resurrection power of God that we need to get out of here. However, she has no power to forgive and stop people from going to hell. Only Jesus Christ and in his name can forgive sin and save people from hell. We are to worship him only. We are not to make graven images and worship them. There are a lot of images of Mary some of which people kneel down and pray to her.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 1 - 10 years ago
In the Catholic Order, Mary the mother of Jesus is their center character. They focus their belief around Mary. They pray to her to intercede on their behalf to Jesus. They pray to her for forgiveness. They say Hail Mary full of Grace for many reasons, none of which has anything to do with salvation or forgiveness. Mary has no power. She had to be in the upper room in order to receive the promise like everyone else, Acts Chapter 1 and 2. There is no salvation with her. The Bible states salvation comes through Jesus Christ name, Acts 4 12 Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . If you read verse 10 11 of this same chapter you will find he is talking about Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ should be the focal point of faith, Ephesians 4 5 "One Lord, one faith, one baptism.

I believe that in this instant the CHURCH chose MAMMON over the Spirit of GOD, and used the maliciousness to choke the WORD. CHRIST went in the temple and turned over the tables of the money changers, and proclaimed his FATHERS HOUSE will be a house of prayer but they turned it into a den of thieves. the mantle of TRUE FAITH AWAS REJECTED for the gain of greed thru MONEY when they paid in fact to have the true riches of God, thru killing his Son and dspoilng the spoil. and thru money since all other revenue was in silver and gold made these men illuminated onto money of their own backed by their kingdom, inscription, and fame in their part of the EMPIRE. Thru money and religion the CHURCH is most powerful and has legions upon legions tasting of fornication.
  • MT on Acts 1:8 - 10 years ago
About 14years ago, I experienced the Holy Spirit not knowing the purpose of the Holy Spirit. Let me explain, I grew up a catholic, not reading the bible, and when the Holy Spirit came in a vision, I began speaking in tongues. I knew it was God and his language. I have always loved and believed in Jesus. Throughout that time, I felt God had greater things for me. So, I began to search for the TRUTH, the word of God. I have never heard that people could speak in tongues nor did I think it existed. Because of my lack of knowledge, I began to read the bible. I have then repented and was baptized, full submersion, in the name of Jesus and was able to receive the Holy Spirit again. I also felt that God wanted me to be in a church that fosters the Holy Spirit. Why? Put it this way... if your thirsty you 'll go where there 's water. Thank you Lord for your blessings!
