Thank you for all your Godly views and the King James 1611 Bible Verses.
  • Kelvin on Acts 1 - 11 years ago
These rumours confirm the bible as the absolute word of GOD, YES he is out of the heavenly Doors, he is surely coming back again. BUT WHEN? Psalms 119:89, Acts 1:7, Mathew 24:43-47 and...... In a twinkling of an eye.
  • ELAINA WHITE on Acts 1:8 - 11 years ago
When you truly fall in love with Jesus, HE will anoint you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. Falling in love with Jesus means to take all of HIS KNOWLEDGE, not only what you want. But you must love Jesus fully. Not only when it is convenient for you, or it is working for you.
  • Harley ithier on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
Very sad to see comments that speaking in tongues is false teaching, satanic and abomination. That something supernatural happened and they spoke in languages other than their own is of no consequence to the one who posted those wrong arguments. That other passages of the scriptures like in Corinthians speak of tongues as a spiritual gift is of no consequence. That even today Pentecostalism is the largest segment of Christianity is of no consequence. I see a poor ignorant comment and whereby no hermeneutical rules are considered!
  • Pastor on Acts 1:8 - 12 years ago
We can understand the New Testament better by studying the Old Testament, for it is a shadow of the New Testament. When God chose David to be king, He sent Samuel to anoint him. That gave him authority to go and rule. So anointing is synonymous with power, i.e. authority to execute the commission in Mark 16. You can only be a true witness if you have the experience, not hearsay that’s why it is important to receive the Holy Ghost. Be blessed.
  • Boladale Samson on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
Act Chapter 1 points to preparation of the establishment of the CHURCH promised by Jesus Christ Himself in the book of Matthew 16:18 and it came to fulfillment in Act 2. Speaking in tongue in chapter 2 is not a language people cannot understand. In chapter 2 those that came to observe Pentecost day hear them speaking in their language. The Church started AD 33 on the Pentecost day. Peter was giving the key to open it as promised in Matthew 16 and among the 12, he was the one that spoke on behalf of others.
  • Forgiven on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
Acts chapter 2 talks about speaking in other tongues but I Corinthians chapter 14 teaches about "he that speaketh in an unknown tongue". He's speaking to God. If you have ever spoken in tongues, nobody can convince you that it's not real. If you haven't - consecrate yourself and ask God for this miraculous experience.
  • Thankful on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
The Birth of Christianity and the Birth of the Church is seen in the Beginning of the New Testament. Christianity started when Christ was born. From the birth of Christ there were followers of Christ. The New Covenant started when Christ rose from the dead. It was centered on Faith in Christ. That was the climate for them to be called Christians. They were not called Christians until Antioch when the church was moved by Paul from Jerusalem to Antioch. Then they were called Christians. But the church began on the day of Pentecost. The first 7 chapters of the book of Acts are about the church in Jerusalem. The next 8 – 12 chapters are about the Church in Samaria and the others are about the church being started in the uttermost part of the earth. The Old Testament was God's dispensation. From the birth of Christ to the Ascension was the dispensation of Jesus Christ, and the period of Grace is the dispensation of the Holy Ghost. Today the Holy Ghost is in charge and operates within us. He Appoints Pastors. Gives different gifts. Guides. Convicts. Converts. Baptizes. Counsels. Advocates. Comforts. Etc. He fell on the day of Pentecost and again to the following groups in the book of Acts 4:31; Samaritans 8:5, 14, 17, to the Jews; and to the Gentiles in Acts 10:1-9, 44; On John’s Disciples in Acts 19:3,6. And one day he fell on me and you and turned our focus to holy living and to our duty to God, duty to our fellow man, and duty to ourselves. Some people call it living life on life's terms but I call it living life on God's terms, not our own’s.
  • Alli Olufunmilayo on Acts 1:8 - 12 years ago
This verse points to the fact that without Holy Spirit, we cannot do anything. So if you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you have great work to do to be able to function well as a believer.
  • Mokihana on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
I thank MY GOD and JESUS CHRIST, for the holy spirit. Through that spirit JESUS gave me life, hope, compassion, mercy, humbleness, understanding, forgiveness and most of all charity.without the HOLY SPIRIT I would be lost in this world.I have fallen a million times in my life,JESUS save's me because of his promise each and everyday. When is come's to my LORD my heart and spirit crie's for the sinner I am. So I ask of you dear LORD to forgive me for my sin's. LOVE YOU ALWAYS MOKIHANA.
  • Pete on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
Talking in tongues, the biblical gift is understanding other languages so the gospel of victory over sin can be experienced. The false satanic teaching is this babbling and uttering which is the pentacostal Antichrist abomination.
  • Chaz on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
No read it again! Jesus told the apostles to go and tarry in Jerusalem UNTIL WHAT? They be endued with power from on high. No Holy Ghost, no power. I guess he had to rely on his own spirit, but not in the sense that we do! After all He is that spirit!
  • Oni bukola eunice on Acts 1:8 - 12 years ago
The Holyspirit comes first before receiving the power. The power is to launch us fully into that which Jesus has commissioned us to do.
  • Bob on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
The book of Acts is not a book of new beginnings, it is a book of transition. It is also not the start of a new church. Until chapter 9 with the salvation of Saul. Saul was the first member of the church called the body of Christ.
  • Rickey schexnayder on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
Tis gave me insight of how Jesus him self cared for all and gave his life.
  • Ann on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
Jesus Himself had to rely upon the Holy Spirit.
today many preachers want to rely on self.but the word of God said for many that are led by the Spirit they are the sons of God.
  • Ajana Adekunle on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
This book reveal the truth about the record of Apostles of how they have worked with Jesus, give it account of its ascension to heaven and as well the Apostles re-organised them for ministry. In short, it revealed JESUS as the true Messiah which everybody need to believe and serve.
  • Chaz on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
I also love the book of acts it is the unfinished history of the new testament church hence it does not end in amen, why because the same fire, or dunamous translates to dynamite in the greek is still falling today in the end time church! When Jesus said go to jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high and they obeyed that it set the stage for this 1st chap and the day of Pentecost. It fell in ch1,2,10,19 etc. Notice each time the Holy Ghost fell the samething happened, they spoke in tounges they were bap in Jesus Name and not fat/son/holy ghost. Why? because they were titles not the name.Search the scriptures was the admonishment of the savior! How I love that name! The pentecostal experience is a rich one! Anyone feel that they need to search the scriptures?
  • Jerry on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
Would like to know where it tells us in the Bible that it is proper to go from Judaism to Christianity. Appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you very much.
  • Carol Revis on Acts 1 - 12 years ago
I love the book of Acts because it begins an understanding of rebuilding our broken relationships to GOD.
  • Keisha Garden on Acts 1 - 12 years ago

it is very very essential to no d word of god.
  • Carlton Le Grand on Acts 1 - 13 years ago
In Mark chapter 3, Jesus explained to them why He couldn't be crazy or possessed by the devil because He was casting out the devil. He used logic to show them that He was in His full capacity and functioning according to God's will. So, then and there the friends and family of Jesus desisted from carrying Him to the "asylum". As for the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, the warning stands for everyone and it is up to God to Judge each one's transgressions and thus will be done... And "the sword to pierce through her soul" is referred to the immense pain that the mother of Jesus felt (or will feel) at the death of her Son. She was promised a King of Jews and will have to go through her Son's death which is symbolized as the sword piercing her soul. It does not stink, it merely takes the revelation of the Holy spirit to make known the secret of the Word of God...
  • Alexander Christian on Acts 1:14 - 13 years ago
That means that Mary and her children changed their minds, after attempt to catch Jesus and (probably) send him to asylum, being sure that he is gone mad. That is described in the third chapter of Mark. But what about her blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which is an unpardonable sin? And what happened with the prophecy of Simeon who promised her the sword to pierce through her soul, Luke 2:35? Something badly stinks here...
  • Sister D on Acts 1:8 - 13 years ago
But ye shall receive power, after that the holy Ghost is come vpon you.

I reads as if God gave the Apostles power first and then the Holy Ghost came afterwards.
  • Jose on Acts 1 - 14 years ago
maybe these two? Jhn 19:39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound [weight].

Mat 27:57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

14And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make [them] the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
  • Jose brienza on Acts 1 - 14 years ago
Acts 1 verse 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized whit the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
8 and ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judae'a, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth
