You need a church & Pastor that believes, lives, and teaches the whole bible, all week not one or two hours on Sunday morning only. Study the first four books (of the KJV new testament BIBLE - Matthew - Mark - Luke - John plus Acts. I am near 80 and have read the 66 books (bible) many times and they are new every time. I love real personal testimonies - experiences of people today but not made up stories.

Try typing Andrew Wommack Ministries into Google or some other search engine - he has LOTS of free resources on his website. I hope this helps. A free online study Bible is e-sword. Type this into Google and see what you think. If you want a physical study Bible its worth visiting a Christian bookshop to find one that is perfect for you as there are many to choose from. I hope this helps. :-)

I strongly disagree with the comment Shaarei made on the subject of salvation looking at Acts 1;.

    1. When the statement "Born of water" is made, it is in no way talking about salvation.

Being born of water is the evidence that humans come from "Flesh" and are born of the "Flesh".

Even Jesus was born of water because He was "Born of Flesh" while being in Mary's womb.

Nither was or is the "Holy Spirit Flesh" The Holy Spirit was sent by God to convict the Flesh (humans)

    of their sins.

The only way a person can be "saved", or, be "Born again" is by the Holy Spirit of God, nothing more, nor, nothing less.

You can be baptized until the Bull frogs kroke but until you put your complete Faith and Trust in Jesus and Jesus only,

you cannot enter the kingdom of God's Heaven. (Read Romans 10:9-13) Nowhere is the spirit of the flesh nor of baptism mentioned in the plan of "Salvation"! Jesus and only Jesus, NO other WAY. I strongly suggest that she, Shaarei

go through the plan of salvation in a King James Bible and seek the truth in prayer. God Bless

Baptism(miktva), is a physical sign of one's faith in THE Saviour promises, and, being in solidarity with him(doing as HE did), and, simple Obedience to his simple command(which are NOT grievous!). Remember, if baptism alone, brought salvation, then many false men who crept in unawares, must receive salvation, and, even many devil worshipping folk must at least partly qualify, for water baptism, was also known of and practiced in many ancient cultures!

Remember, salvation, is the ultimate gift of creator to his creation, and, with it goes the only road to immortality possible!(ezekiel18:4 & 20 in particular; the entire chapter in general, and compare it with the sermon on the mount; supplement it with John1:VIII to X and John2:I to VI and James1:XVII & XVIII also James2:VIII to XXVI, Capping it with Matthew V:13 to 20(from HIS mouth, in the sermon on the mount therefore: irrefutable!

The thief will be in THE Kingdom, But, in the one where the saviour has come back to rule earth during a millineum of 1000 years(see the revelation of the saviour, esp., 19:XI to XVI +XIX to XXI & particularly, 20: I to XV & 21:I to VII);pray for discernment, so as "rightly divide the word of truth", believing Scripture, not the words of men!

    Be Well; Blessings upon you!!

Not immediately, dear debra;otherwise, the scripture could not be true, that peter gave in the 1st teaching after receiving the holy spirit, that no man has ascended up to heaven, save the son of man, that came down from heaven;& he, is the firstborn of many bretheren. be well, continue in study; blessings upon you.

First, have you received the HolyGhost since you have believed? If you have received the HolyGhost and you desire to pray in tongues. Then, ask God to give you the gift of tongues. God will answer your prayer. I received the Holy Spirit while I was a teenager. I spoke in tongues at the initial infilling of the HolyGhost but I did not have the gift of tongues. Then, God blessed me to speak in tongues because I asked him to allow me to pray in tongues. God answered my prayer. I desired to know what I was saying while I was communing in the spirit. My spirit was being refreshed, but I did not know what I was saying to God. I asked to give me the interpretation of tongues, and guess what? He did. Interpretation does not mean translation. It means I know what was being said in tongues. If you desire, this gift, God will give it to you. I just want to make sure that you have been filled with the HolyGhost. If you received the HolyGhost by the evidence of speaking with other tongues, God will grant you the ability to speak with other tongues when you pray. It happens to me every time I pray, God will do the same for you.

@ Debra fanning Verily verily I say unto you, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit he shall NOT enter the Kingdom of God

Jesus said I go and I will send the comforter

See, the thief on the cross was not subject to the new covenant law as the Comforter had not been sent yet

Baptism in water for the remission of sin and Baptism of the Holy Spirit are both requirements to enter the Kinhdom of God
  • Ronald - In Reply on Acts 1 - 4 years ago
You MUST be baptised, to receive salvation it is a requirement of God, that's why Christ was baptised by John the Baptist . Cheers.
  • Ronald - In Reply on Acts 1 - 4 years ago
The Thief will be in Gods kingdom,God does not lie and keeps his promises. might have been like the Lost son in Luke 15,was previously baptised then lost his way and did wrong then asked Christ forgiveness . Cheers.

What is a sabbath days journey?
Do you know anyone who keeps the sabbath and don't travel a distance more than the law said?

I didn't say I didn't want to be baptized, neither did I say all the people on their death beds, people in burning buildings, people being murdered who confessed their sins to God, knowing they were dying, didn't want to be baptized, I said we don't have to be baptized to have salvation....Jesus told the thief on the cross, " Today, he would be with Him in Paradise", he wasn't baptized.
By the way I WAS BAPTIZED as a profession I was serving the Lord....not for my Salvation...
  • Adam - In Reply on Acts 1 - 4 years ago
Hi Debra, how do you interpret Acts 2:38 ? If you don't think it's necessary, do you think it's important? If not, why do you think the Bible says this? Do you think there's any downside to a Christian being baptized other than getting wet and maybe feeling inconvenienced or embarrassed? For example, if a Christian wasn't 100% sure that Acts 2:38 meant baptism was necessary or not, why wouldn't a Bible-believing Christian want to be baptized?
  • Debra Fanning - In Reply on Acts 1 - 4 years ago
Adam, I am hearing baptism is part of salvation....It is a witness to the world that God washed away our sins through the blood Jesus shed on the cross and therefore we have been saved .....I used the thief on the cross to make a point to those having not been baptized that they ARE saved " through grace...by faith." Ephesians 2:4
  • Adam - In Reply on Acts 1 - 4 years ago
Does God not have the power to save whomever he wants to? Can't God see the hearts of people? Is God not a fair judge? Why doubt what Jesus says?
  • Debra Fanning - In Reply on Acts 1 - 4 years ago
So, the thief on the cross didn't go to paradise with Jesus like He told him he would?

I believed Judas was predestined to betray Jesus as in ACTS 1:16. David spoke about Judas concerning his betrayal in the book of psalms. Jesus knew from the begging that he was going to be betray by Judas Jesus said it was better for him Judas not to be born. after Jesus departure the apostle realized prayers was the only thing that matters to them for they were always praying in ONE ACCORD.

Acts 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression FELL, that he might go to his own place I never fell out of a tree that I wasn't in.

How they brought the good news from Jerusalem to Rome. How amazing that Luke was able to write about the accounts of that time, and how no one really new him, but he was a physician, a gentile and he was devoted to Paul which several books such as Acts, Colossi ans 4:14 Philemon 24, and II Timothy 4:11 also allowing the officials to learn that Christianity was innocent about the Kingdom of God.
  • Timothy - In Reply on Acts 1 - 5 years ago
I agree that there's a world of difference in the concept called believing. Some people believed in Christ after seeing His miracles John2v23-25 but were not genuine believers. A general belief like the devils themselves James 2v19 , or an intellectual belief, like those just mentioned, is not the personal belief or conviction of placing one's confidence in another to be saved John 3v16 .

According to my source, Theophilus was likely involved in Greek or Roman government, so that was his name not a title.
  • Marjorie Hodges - In Reply on Acts 1 - 5 years ago
God is who choose the disciple to replace Judas verse 24 God knows our hearts I was told Theophilus is a title which I don't know whether that's true that being said how would one go about finding out who that title belong to ?
