Thank God for the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will show us things to come.

GOD came as the son. The bible says GOD was manifested in the flesh. We all know GOD is spirit. So GOD being spirit robed himself in flesh. Because without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. He became flesh so he could shed blood for our sins.

baptism is FOR one thing only REMISSION OF SINS. this is the last step to becoming a CHRISTIAN.

Remember the question that was asked of Peter. What must we do? Peter told the people what they must do:acts2:38 and who else should dothis:acts2:39

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel The Apostles thought they were on the last days. Joel 1:15 15 Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. The Apostle knew the day of the Lord was near. They were living it , but something stops all that, in chapter 7, the stoning of Stephen. Jews rejected Christ.

Verse 11 shows the power of hearing the good news of God in one's own language.

"..Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven..every man heard them speak in his own language." It may seem like an insignificant point that there were Jews from every Nation under heaven; but there is much in it. Because of Israel's sin and rebellion, rejection of the faith and God's Spirit in His Prophets; they were put under the dominion of the Gentiles until the Day of the LORD.

The promise of the Holy Ghost is now fulfilled. Right from the Day of Pentecost, it is being showered on us today. We must "repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

Baptism is "for the remission of sins" Acts 2:38

Jesus said"I am the way, truth and light, no man come unto the father except through Him. John 14:6. Not saved threw baptism, but it is a command of God. Matt. 3:15, 28:19, John 3:26. Baptism is like a wedding rings, you put the rings on to show you belong to someone, baptism is showing you belongs to that Church, belief in The Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, you belong to The family of God

The disciples of Christ were well familiar with baptism. They had a 12 to 1 ratio over John the Baptist in John 4:1, 2. So they followed Jesus Christ instructions. Full of the Holy Ghost they knew the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost was one Lord with one name, " Jesus Christ !" The only method of baptism by the church in the bible. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind for salvation.

"..The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, until I make thy foes thy footstool." "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God." The Spirit in the Saint; Jesus standing at God's right hand!

Amen Ben/redeemed u both point out some great things I am soo glad Ive been/redeemed when I obeyed Acts 2:38 before that I was destined for hell until I was baptized in Jesus name and filled with His Spirit with the evidence given in Acts 2:4

To Ben: in order to be saved you must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, Repent of your sins and if you believe with all your heart that Jesus is the Son of God you can be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remmission or removal of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost it's Gods promise to you now you are in him and called by his name and you are an heir with him to

Calling upon the name of the of the Lord is definitely a part of our salvation further study and prayer is necessary for a more complete understanding of what is required. Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. When Peter said, Repent, be baptized, then the gift of the Holy Spirit will come. What he is saying is, Repent, stop turn around from your sin, turn to Jesus. At that point, you are saved. Then be baptized, as an act of confession to the Church, on what you did. Baptizing has nothing to do with salvation. And at the point of repenting, is when the Holy Spirit comes into your heart.

Jesus Christ, himself, gave you those instructions and you still resist His godly instruction. Matt. 4:17- Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand, another quote from the Son of God.

In Acts 2 the Kingdom is still being offered to the Jews see Lk23:24, Acts 2:14,22, 36. The question asked is what must WE do, not what must I do as in Acts 16:31. This was before the mysteries were revealed to Paul see Rom 16:25. They blasphemed the Holy Ghost in Acts 7 and God went to the Gentiles. We get Gentile baptism Matt 28:19, Acts 10:48 because Jews are not the nations Num 23:9.

V. 44 - "And ALL that were TOGETHER, and had ALL things common." They had ALL just recently been baptized in the name of Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. All things included Acts 2:28. And they went and witnessed to others of the same salvation - Acts 2:38, BECAUSE they ALL believed the same. There is not ONE instance in scripture where the words of Matt. 28:19 were used, not one.

We need the baptism of the holy spirit. Romans 8 says so much

My friends, did you know that Jesus (God) gave Apostle Paul secrets (mysteries ). If we read Romans 11:25, Paul tells us that if we don't believe the mysteries of his , that we are blind. We must understand the mystery that God (Jesus ) gave Paul, Colossians 2:2 . To ignore the writings of Paul with be foolish and ignorance. Iren123 if you think you have to get baptized for Salvation, in no disrespect to your beliefs, I would say that you have no idea of the dispensation of the grace of God. Romans through Philemon, Paul does not speak of baptist as Salvation. Yes he did get baptized, but it was a different dispensation and later he was given a new Revelation.
