Acts Chapter 28 Discussion

May we be faithful in our belief in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and carry out GOD'S desire to reach lost souls.

Praying for the peace in Jerusalem, and for the people to receive the gospel of JESUS CHRIST. Let us as believers put on the armor of GOD and go forth into the spiritual battle raging around us.

Let us pray for our leadership, on all levels, to have the mind and heart of the LORD.

May we be blessed and a blessing unto all who the LORD guides to us.

The LORD to shine HIS face on all who trust and believe in HIM.

Looking up into the evening sky and seeing man's lights reminding me of freeway traffic does not inspire me. Turning away from them and admiring God's lights makes me think of His Son.

Brother Jones : Nero may have executed Paul but we name our sons Paul and our dogs Nero ! So who actually won that one ? Our beloved Paul went home to be with Jesus Christ ! Praise God for salvation !

That proverb, "All roads lead to Rome" is not found in the Bible, rather from a development of what was significant of the City of Rome in the bygone Roman Empire. It was said that 'All paths or activities lead to the centre of things. This was literally true in the days of the Roman Empire, when all the empire's roads radiated out from the capital city, Rome.' As well, there were a few films made with that title, but nothing to suggest this in God's Word.

Hello NOBLES, I can't find in the Bible where it confirms that Paul was ever set free or were pardoned. However, I know some Bible scholars believe he was executed by Nero Caesar 11 Timothy 6,7 "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.(7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Paul is by the Holy Ghost speaking of his impending demise. Glory be to God in the highest!! Amen!

Isaiah was a Hebrew prophet who is believed to have lived about 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ.

The book of Isaiah has the message of salvation as its central theme while presenting both the blessings and judgments of God's covenants with Israel. It pronounces God's judgment on Israel and Judah for their glaring violations of their covenant obligations.

The importance of the message is it foretells the future - thus when looking back on the message which is hundreds of years old - the current reader/hearer can and should believe the message to be true; whether in the time of Paul or in the 21st century.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. See Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that , moveth upon the earth. Genesis 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. Everyone must be follow the blue print

My thoughts on Paul's comment in 1st Corinthians 6th verse : ( Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect ; yet not the wisdom of this world , form into too many interpretations of who is perfect .

we take the bible literally, unless we can't because somethings are to be taken spiritually. In this case it is literally. the barbarous people thought that Paul had to be very bad person to escape a ship wreck then get bit by a deadly snake, But when they seen that he still lived after all these things, they thought he must be a god (little g) to have survived. There are several lessons to get from this. Sometimes God allows things to happen in our lives even if we are trying to do what is right, just so other people can see him stronger in our lives. Paul didn't focus on his troubles, he shook the snake off and went about his life as if nothing happened. His faith was manifested.

Appreciate your time. That is exactly what I wanted to know. Learning of the times is very helpful to understand what was really happening at the time. For my sake, I pray I don't have to purchase another book every time I have a curious about a character. Blessings

Ave Nobles..Purchase the book "Sketches from the life of Paul" This book goes over the life of Paul and his ministry, it is authored by Ellen G White and after reading it, it is easier to understand reading in the bible about the life of Paul and the condition of the cities and towns that he ministered in and the troubles that he had.. Is 5.00 from Amazon

It's in acts. When he was sent to Rome after taken prisoner by the Jews. And yes he did rent a house there. Lots of stuff happened to him on the way. You need to read all of acts.
  • AVE NOBLES on Acts 28 - 5 years ago
Scripture said Paul was a prisoner. I see no pardon, nor explanation as to how he got free. Can you let me know which book I need to seek out for the understanding that Paul rented a house or dwelling of his own for two full years and preached the gospel of the Kingdom?
  • Stan jett on Acts 28 - 5 years ago
And? What ever happened to Paul after those 2 years?
    .30
And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
    31
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Verse 22~The first century Christians were called names and spoken of abusively. It is not surprising when true Christians today undergo similar treatment.

The account of Paul is awesome ,even been bound in chain he still preach the gospel ,i am really inspired with his faith ,so all so we need to learn from Paul that whatsoever condition we are good or bad the gospel must be preached ,
  • Dewey J on Acts 28 - 7 years ago
To all Acts has no ending because the apostles and saints continued to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Many going in different directions. Lastly we find St. John 90 plus years old banished on the island of Patmos writing the revelation of Jesus Christ. Glory be to God in the highest!
  • Alfred on Acts 28 - 7 years ago
To Irene: I think its because the book of Acts, is not a gospel. It is more of a record of th first church. The gospels were written, for people to come to faith.
  • Irene123 on Acts 28 - 7 years ago
I've seen several on here that I know are aware of the end of Acts - it has no 'closing', no 'amen', no 'bless you all in Jesus name', nothing like that; it just - stops. Does anyone know why this is?
