    Hi Joe.

You're right, and I would like to take it a step further. We fear God because we see our uncleanness and know he's Holy. That wrath ordained to an unbeliever we don't have to concern ourselves with but his chastening we do. We are to examine ourselves to see that we our in the faith or not. Is the spirit leading us in ministering and are we living a life where the spirit has changed us from doing the "works of God" by command or doing Gods work by the fruit of the spirit.

    God bless.
  • Free - In Reply on Acts 4 - 2 years ago
Yes, thank you dear "Joe", that's how i think to. But then it becomes a big BUT. Because i do not praise then, there will be no worship at all. So and praise the Lord will lift us up, it cleanses us free, the most gracious thing we can do is and love the Lord with all our soul, spirit and body. There lies the praise. Thank you for mentioning this. Now let the day be to the Glory of God, Amen.

We must pray that we always have a conscience that allows us to praise the Lord.

Romans 5:1-5 in Jesus name, love u in Christ.
  • Joe on Acts 4 - 2 years ago
To me - to fear God means to fear his wrath, not to fear to faithfully approach Him with our prayers and sincere repentance
  • Ardith Schuricht on Acts 4 - 2 years ago
Thank you for the provision of hearing the chapters in Acts. I have been aware of things I have heard in the past, but how really understand them,

I will continue to listen and grow in my understanding.

Hi Virginia I don't fear God have respect and admiration and awe for Him being almighty God and at the same time

a tender loving heavenly father who cares about all of my needs. How could God by His will make you His Child

by giving us the ability to become His Sons and Daughters but want you afraid to talk to Him for help, that does

not make any sense. Also it says in Hebrews to Come boldly to the throne of grace in time of need to get help,

how are you going to come boldly to your Father if your afraid of Him. Just sharing a point.

It we do the best we can then we should feel confident that he'll meet every need according to His riches

in Glory by Christ Jesus. Amen!

  • Eric Lopez on Acts 4 - 3 years ago
We fear what we do not know much like the priest who held Peter and John in jail and not know what to do with them.

Precious Yunda, Please Be Encouraged/Edified in This Important "study" of three baptisms:

God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided, 'Shows water' is NOT Under God's GRACE, Today:

    (1) Prophecy/Law for ISRAEL: The Twelve Were Sent to water baptize!

The TWO Main, of 12 baptisms =

    A) water, For remission of sins/induction into Israeli "priesthood!" {separate "study" IF you wish...} ( Matthew 3:5-6) ( Mark 1:4) ( Luke 3:3) ( John 1:31) ( Luke 7:29-30) ( Acts 10:37) ( Matthew 28:19) ( Mark 16:16) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 22:16) ( Ezekiel 36:25) ( John 18:35) ( Exodus 19:6) +

    B) WITH The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders! ( Isaiah 44:3) ( Matthew 3:11) ( Mark 1:8) ( Mark 16:17-18) ( Luke 24:49) ( Acts 2:17-18) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 8:15-17) ( Acts 11:16)

    Prophecy/Law

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From Things That Differ!:

    (2) Mystery/GRACE! = our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST:

Paul Was Not Sent to {water} baptize! Why Not?:

Today: 'Only ONE' Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION, Spiritually Identifying members In (The ONE Body Of) CHRIST!! ( Ephesians 4:5) ( Colossians 2:12) ( Galatians 3:27) ( Romans 6:3-4) ( 1 Corinthians 12:13) --------------------------------------------------

Thus, This ONE Baptism Is Performed, By God, Today, Under God's GRACE/MYSTERY Program, when the believer "confesses Jesus as Lord and Savior and believes that He died and rose again, and God saves them" in the twinkling of an eye.

Thus, "water baptism" Is Scriptural, But Dispensationally, "was for the Previous Law/Prophecy Program" of God, For ISRAEL!

Conclusion, water baptism is Scriptural, but, TODAY, is UNdispensational! Amen?

Precious friend, Yunda, Please be Richly Encouraged, enlightened, exhorted, and edified!"

    ( 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 1:3-9; Ephesians 3:9 = Grace/Mystery 'fellowship,' today?)

If you don't baptize in the name of Jesus, you are not baptized. His name is where the power lies.
  • Heidi - In Reply on Acts 4 - 3 years ago
Wow! What a great thought! And what a reminder to all of us!
  • Peter Spence on Acts 4 - 3 years ago
So my question would be;Why doesn't the majority of Christians use this saving name in Baptism? Colossians 3;17 clearly states that everything we do should be done in the name of Jesus,so why not Baptism?
  • Adam - In Reply on Acts 4 - 3 years ago
    Dear Melvin,

That's great that you want to please God and put Him first.

I don't think of work as serving a master, but just fulfilling responsibility. You are responsible to take care of yourself and if you have a family. Jesus worked as a carpenter. Work can certainly take over one's life and become a master, an idol, or false god, just as a relationship can, eating, sleeping, movies, addictions, vices, etc. We must keep ourselves in check and balance, but to love ourselves and love others we do have responsibilities to provide food, shelter, clothing to ourselves and if you have a family. You can find Biblical support for that. It's helpful to set time limits as boundaries to ensure something like work doesn't become #1. God bless.
  • MELVIN on Acts 4 - 3 years ago
I'm a born again christain but I desire to start a successful business. I read the word everyday but I find myself thinking about how to start a business constantly. Is this wrong? Am I trying to servrve two masters? I want to put CHRIST on the throne of my life. But I also want to be successful in this one. Is this wrong?

In Acts 4:6 I saw something I had not previously seen and that was the names John and Alexander. It was written like these men were commonly known at the time, and I was wondering what I had 'missed' all these years in reading Acts every year. Thank you.

Verse 1-Holy spirit was poured out on the first century Christians and they needed it because they would face intense persecution. Jehovah God makes sure that his people are fortified to face various trials.

These kinds of questions are what Paul (Shaul) was speaking of when he said to abstain from talk that will cause disputes, dissensions as he wrote to Timothy. Studying the word you'll find out that the scriptures when translated from Greek to Latin to English lost its original content in the process. Words are not the same in middle eastern nations as Israel and Great Britain or American. Whether Jesus is your preference or Yahshua, the Lord God Almighty will hold each an every one to their just belief, as Matt. 12:36-37 says, "But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give an account thereof in the day of judgement. V 37- FOR BY YOUR WORDS THOU SHALT BE JUSTIFIED, AND BY THY WORDS THOU SHALT BE CONDEMNED ". Focus on drawing nearer to Messiah to live holy and don't be so quick to judge rashly an hastily on matters your not qualified in nor understand. MANY BLESSINGS IN YAHSHUA

Yashua is his actual name in original Greek, Yahushua Hebrew.

That was a wonderful strong testimony you shared, D. Robbins. My heart rejoiced to read it & for your single-mindedness to stay true & faithful to the Lord. And His Love for you is your blessed assurance & joy also - stay close to Him & keep short accounts with Him. Every blessing.

    John 1:1, 1:14, and John 3:16

summed up, Jesus is the Word, the Word is God, so Jesus is my Lord & my God, the Lord, God incarnate, died for me, because I believe in Him, I am saved!!! Praise the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come!!! I look forward to the Blessed Hope & Appearing of Jesus Christ!!!

    Titus 2:13, 1 Corinthians 15:51-53, and I Thessolonians 4:13-18

I invited Jesus Christ into my heart in 1984, and love him more today than ever, he's my 1st love!!!

  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Acts 4 - 4 years ago
Trinity is not a Bible word, but Godhead is

Are the body, soul and spirit are the same thing

questions for a oneness or watchtower (Jehovah's witless) devotee

1 Thess 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Paul says spirit and soul and body)

Isaiah 10:18 - And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth. (Body and Soul different)

Matthew 10:28 - Jesus said: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ..........destroy both soul and body in hell.

Isaiah 26:9 - With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. (Soul and Spirit are different)

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

.... dividing asunder of soul and spirit, (the word of God divides the soul and spirit)

so the Bible ALONE teaches man has a body and a soul and a spirit = 3 parts = 1 man

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let US make man in our image, after OUR likeness

Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 9:6 - Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

So IF one man is Body, Soul and Spirit which is 3 parts and God made man in HIS IMAGE

How many parts is God? 3? a Godhead? or trinity?

What is the difference between Trinity and the Godhead
  • Vanessa on Acts 4 - 4 years ago
the Word became flesh, He walked amongst us and taught us the Word, He still lives, the Word still goes on throughout the world, We believe in Him, if we understand what this means, The Word is powerful, it gives you hope and peace when we trust in Him and not the world
  • Joe - In Reply on Acts 4 - 4 years ago
I understand the meaning to be 'the power of Jesus' so whether the word 'through' or 'by' is used does not change the meaning to me.
