Acts 5:30 shows that the Jesus was hung on a tree. if you look at a Greek translation, the word stavros appear. and this word meant the right to delete an upright pole or stake. encyclopedia "The Imperial Bible-Dictionary" confirms it. also among the Romans was the word "crux" (the word comes from the cross) originally has been an upright pale. The book "The non-Cristian Cross by JD Parsons says" there is not a single sentence in any of the writings that make up the New Testament, the Greek show, either directly or indirectly, that the stauros used in connection with Jesus , was anything but an ordinary stauros, and there is nothing to suggest that it consisted of more than a stick. Jesus was seen on a crime and criminals at the time was hung on a log, pole. and the cross was used on a symbol of the god Tammuz, as it had the same shape as the first initial of his name.

Well, this story of Ananias and his wife actually discovers as plainly as it could be done, that entire project with books after the Gospel of John is nothing but a diabolical deception for mean an ignorant masses. The very aim is clear enough, but let me try to mention a couple of facts. First of all, in times of Moses and before, God required a tenth of wealth to be offered in public, to priests. It was an usual percentage from the beginning (see 'tithes' in Old Testament, from Abraham with Melchizedek and further in Numbers, also Malachi 3:10). New Testament is changing everything about it, there is no more valid system of priesthood and no sacrifice of that kind. If someone wants to do something really good with his own wealth, the way is explained in the Sermon on the Mount. On the other hand, when certain rich young man approached to Jesus asking him for everlasting life, instruction was 'If you want to be perfect, go and sell everything you own. Give the money TO THE POOR (not to Jesus himself) and yo will have riches in Heaven.' Now, it seems that this detail is taken, turned upside down and abused to fright, threat and control senseless mob which is thrusting to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Of course God would never kill such a man like Ananias for such a 'crime'. Moreover, whatsoever is offered should be done with good will, with joy, fear and pleasure. This story is a quintessence and a quoin of EVERY single church that ever existed later, does not matter if it is some primitive idolatrous nationalistic community or 'advanced' protestant clan. And to conclude this essay, let me say that there is no doubt about the meaning of the parable of good seed and the weed. While Jesus sets a childish state of mind as a ticket to enter the Holy kingdom, that bloody lizard is proudly putting childish things away. Every bird to its flock, at least similar creatures shall not be boring people in world to come. And above all, the whole scandal is done in the name of the High Priest, which makes the whole criminal case many times heavier. That also explains his sigh 'I am come to send fire, and how will I, if it already were kindled!' Even Pharisees were noble gentlemen comparing to this villains...

Well, it is about time they did something to make the rich pay their fair share. The Merciful God killing Ananias and Sapphari is the first instance I know where the IRS... oh excuse me the HIS (Holy Revenue Service) re-distributed the wealth. I am glad to see that the HRS's methoids have not changed over time.

In fact this methoid (genocide) of spreading the wealth around has remained un-changed from the
Jews’ final defeated the Midinites (Numbers: Chapter 33) through the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Norse invasion, the Mohammedan invasion, the Mongol Invasion, the rise of the Ottoman Empire, the British Empire, the American Civil War, the USSR and the NAZI Conquest of Europe. Methods never change, only the names of the war criminals sharing the booty change. Today these war criminals in waiting are Obama's preacher Rev. Wright, and David Axelrod’s confessor, de-frocked priest 'Father' Pager.

Stephania, do you mind me asking are you a christian and if so of what denomination?
  • Stephania on Acts 5:30 - 13 years ago
WHAT I THINK ABOUT ACT 5:30, THE TREE IS REFERED TO A TOTURE STAKE. AS Acts 2:23, Acts 10:39 and galation 3:13 also shows that the tree was a stake. And the stake was like a stick pointing straight up(l) so Jesus died on a tree not a cross. Even if he did die on a cross as Exodus 20:4,5 and Jeremiah 10:3-5 shows that it is a commitment of idolatry if we crave any image of heaven like or Earth like creatures as a protection or anything that stands for God. And 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 shows that anybody who commit idolatry will be no part of God's kingdom.

Iit’s funny, Jesus looked like an ethnic Jew (not the European ones) and Jew are the same like Arabs.
I would presume he had a breed and wore robes like the Arabs lol. Plus he is mostly depicted like this anyway but more European.
Also did you know back then females wore head scarfs and other long drab stuff lol.
It seems the Middle East are very old fashioned.
  • Gary on Acts 5 - 14 years ago
Trent Isa 50:6 shows us that Jesus did have a beard. However,He did not have long hair. Jesus was a Nazarene NOT a Nazarite
  • Trent on Acts 5:30 - 14 years ago
    Hi tiko, good question.

When people were crucified in those days, they nailed or roped 1 board horizontally to a tree which forms a cross (like an X) to the tree which is vertical. So, it is correct that it was a tree, and jesus carried the 1 horizontal board on his back and to his hands. Jesus didn't carry the entire thing with a post you dig and place in the ground, despite movies and media, but it was cumbersome as it was and torturous to carry after being beaten. Movies, media, and churches also portray the cross as neatly crafted with modern power saws, evenly cut pieces, perfectly aligned, but that's not reality. Just like Jesus wasn't purely white or black, and we don't know if he had a beard and long hair or not, or how tall or short or big he was. It's interesting how people tend to make up stuff.

You shall not lie to the Holy Spirit. GOD sees the inside of us and we cannot hide from HIM anything

The Holy Spirit gives us the power to preach the word of GOD. It takes away the bondage of fear

    GOD's Peace with us all!
  • Delores wiggins on Acts 5 - 14 years ago
If the saints of God would read with the eye of the spirit, they will see that today we really don't beleive athe saints believed in the begining when the Holy Ghost failed, these saints help all and one another. GOD HELP US.

No matter what position we hold in life, be it in our home, on the job or in the church we ought to always obey God rather than man. Even if it means loosing that position.
  • Tim Hunt on Acts 5:32 - 15 years ago
God our father in heaven, gives those who obey him, keep the law of God ( the ten commandments)gives us his sprit so that we can witness and preach the future coming KINGDOM of GOD.
