Steve - I believe the church mentioned is also the tabernacle, aka tent, which the Israelites had during their exodus from Egypt - not a building as we see today.
Acts Chapter 7: 35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge the same did God send [to be] a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and [with] our fathers: (this is saying the CHURCH was with Moses)
Steve Moyer you only allow so many words on Acts 7:38 - 4 years ago
I have alway been confused with this verse in the KJB;
Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:r
It reads, "a church in the wilderness!" There were no buildings that people called a "church" when Acts was written. Also, many believe the KJV is the only reliable translation. Do you think our Father's Holy word would have another man's name on it Acts 17:24-25 reads in the KJV, 4 "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Michelle...I have a list of how the apostles died (open to debate of course), but maybe because of its content, KJB Online is not permitting its posting. Sorry.
Some studies are really easier when you approach through historical accounts. I would google that question. See Hebrews chapter 11. Fox's book of martyrs. It's all very interesting.
Maria...I doubt if you could get a correct answer, given the different ways people can understand and apply these verses. I see the Earth as having had a foretaste of the contents of the seals, and those who have suffered leading to death, or starvation or martyrdom, could certainly believe that the contents of the seals were upon them. However, I still look at these Judgements (Seal, Trumpet, & Vial) as part of God's Wrath upon the world in what we know as the Great Tribulation, a time of incredible suffering as has not see before. I don't believe we have come to this point, though as we progress, we see a continual deterioration in men's hearts & also signs for Anti-Christ's introduction.
I do know who killed Jesus and the prophets and they still exist in one form today. rnPaul in 1 Thess 2:14, 16 - For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, EVEN AS THEY HAVE OF THE JEWS: WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and THEY PLEASE NOT GOD, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: FOR THE WRATH IS COME UPON THEM TO THE UTTERMOST.
WHO killed the disciples like mark,james,peter etc...?.....WAS it the jews? OR was it another religious order? Does that order also exist today?.........We know that Jesus laid down his life.......BUT WHO put themselves in the works to carry out the deeds that were done?
In verses 55 56, Stephen saw heaven opened, he saw the glory of God His son, before he died. It means Stephen made heaven he saw Jesus...So, no matter who we are, it is important to see Jesus before we die...let heaven recognise us, so as to make heaven.
It is interesting to note that Paul then Saul was present when Stephen was stoned. At the time he was a persecutor of the early Christians, however, he was paying close attention to the sermon as seen in Acts 13. Here Paul picks up exactly where Stephen left off preaching. So if anyone is interested in hearing the rest of the sermon, be sure to take a look at Acts 13!
Joe Montgomery. Verse 45 tells us that the Son of God, Jesus was present as Israel walked through the land of Moab, leading Joshua into the promised land. Jesus is the Captain of the Lord of Hosts and was worshipped by Joshua, prior to crossing the Jordan River and going over to the Canaanite cities of Gilgal, Jericho etc.
Verse 6: ...that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.. HR 1242 115th Congress - 400 YEARS OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN HISTORY COMMISSION ACT Deuteronomy 28:66: And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee... Gennesis 15:13 - 14: ..and they shall afflict them four hundred years.. Time is up people.
MARK ISRAELS DESIRE TO KILL THE PROPHETS WENT BACK EVEN TO MOSES N AARON THEY HAD AARON MAKE A CALF OF GOLD AND WORSHIPPED IT AND THEY TURNED TO WORSHIP MOLOCK AND THE STAR OF THEIR GOD REMPHAN THEY WERE A MOST REBELIOUS PPL BUT MOSES STOOD IN THE GAP FOR ISRAEL AND MOSES WAS A TYPE OF CHRIST A SAVIOR FOR ALL THE WORLD BUT ALL THE SCRIPTURES ABOUT ISRAEL STONING THE PROPHETS ARE TOO NUMERIOUS.GBU
Verse 7~Even though Joseph's family was against him, Jehovah God was with Joseph. Jehovah can be with us even if it seems that all odds are stacked against us.
There are many parts of the chapter that is reported into another part of the bible. As Joseph and Moses. When Stephen was being stone the heavens open up to him. What a spiritual sight. He saw JESUS standing on the right hand of GOD. AMEN releasing his spirit unto HIM. Blessing.
This is a full story of the Israelites told in one chapter. It is also a story of believing in Christ till one confronts death face to face- a story of martyrdom. Stephen saw our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ just before he "slept". We should emulate Stephen by being committed to our faith in Christ, no matter what.
Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. Jesus was standing to come down from Heaven, but when they stone Stephen, the second coming of Jesus was delayed, Jesus sat back down at the right hand of God. The Grace age begins later in the book of Acts.
V, 43 - " ... took up the tabernacle of Moloch. This is a reference to Solomon. He began right, but - he loved many women (which God did not sanction) and they led him into child sacrifice, 1 Kgs. 11:1. The 'star' of your god Remphan; Amos 5:26. The Jews still use this star.
Nobody That Dies In The State Of Ignorance Or Act Of Fanaticism In Order To Be A “Martyr,†That Would Go To The Paradise. It Is Better To Know On Whose Side One Is Dying. There has to be a general understanding here just as we can see the best way to defend God, rather than fighting for God. After which when all has been done, the will of God must be done. A great lesson here is that Stephen had f
Dewey J - I agree with you about Paul. I am just turned 75, have 'some' physical complaints, but as to real pain - the Lord only lets me bear one at a time, so far, so at least I can sleep with a couple of aspirin. When one goes away He lets another come on. And it's to Paul I look when I am in pain - 2Cor.11:24-27. My pain is nothing compared to that!!!
Anybody wanting an interesting study;
A six pointed star as a symbol of the god of Saturn.
Kinda sounds familiar does it not? A pagan symbol that has plagued the Jewish people for centuries. Where did the "star of David come from?"

I , myself think it's the 6th or 7th seal broken .please someone correct me if I may be wrong ..I honestly don't get as much into Bible as before ...
