The "Age of Accountability" matter has come up here before, where someone asked what that age might be - he/she suggested 8 yrs of age, if I remember. Various answers were given, from age 5 to teen years. My understanding of the 'age of accountability', which would differ between children, is the age when the child knows that he has committed sin, that sin is both wrong and is accountable before God, and the child needs to recognize that his sin has separated him from God. And then, to understand the message of the Gospel, to repent, & to receive Christ. If this doesn't happen at this 'early' age, then there will be many children going to Hell without receiving Christ & being born again. Sin is sin, no matter our age - when we do wrong & display our carnal nature, we are accountable for it - there isn't a time of grace where manifested sin is overlooked.

So, when you asked, "So you do not believe in the scriptural "Age of Accountability"?", I do believe in an 'age of accountability', but unsure what you mean by the "scriptural Age of Accountability". Is there one even given, or does that age not actually represent an age in years, but an age of understanding & giving an heart-felt response? Those living in Jesus' Day & under the Law, were taught from childhood about the Law, obedience to it, of God's Character, & days to be observed. They lived under the Law & by it God judged them. After the crucifixion, the Law was abrogated, the Law that only brought death ( Romans 7:10). "for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law" ( Galatians 3:21) & there wouldn't have been a need for Jesus' Death. So, I simply share this to highlight that, pre-Cross, the Hebrew child was taught the Law, of sin & urged to keep the Law (age was of no concern). Post-Cross, the child is alerted when wrong is committed (i.e. God's Law is broken), but now there is an immediate solution found in the Cross, & faith in Jesus.

God has permitted all His Words to be brought together in the Bible we have now that we may know everything He wants us to know. I don't think you're referring to the many versions of the Bible available now (e.g. KJV, NIV, etc.), but to the Bible with the accepted Books within. If so, then what we have now, as has been canonized by reputable, studied men of God, should be sufficient for our spiritual needs. And this canonization wasn't a haphazard putting together of various manuscripts collected from various sources, but a dedicated attempt to analyse texts, authors, references against each other, and so on, thereby eliminating other spurious writings (of which there have been many) that have contradicted or opposed accepted Scripture. This is not to say there is no Truth in these extra-biblical writings, but when error is detected, then great caution must be taken about incorporating them into the Bible, as readers can be led to believing error - and many are not alert or informed sufficiently to easily detect such errors.

So I believe what we have in our hands now is what God has allowed, or ordained, guiding not only the writers of the Books (of the Bible), but also those who were tasked of incorporating particular books into the Bible we have now. So, it then becomes a matter of whether those extra-biblical books should be read and/or incorporated in the Bible. This then is the personal choice of the reader to make. Since the Infancy Gospel has come up now, I regard this as a particularly vile account of Jesus' early life, a time of His Life that none of the four Gospel writers were inspired to include - and I feel sure they would have certainly done so, if prompted to do. Jesus would have grown up as a normal little boy, yet demonstrating holiness in life, separation from the wrong-doings of the other kids, & sharing wisdom beyond His years & spiritual maturity. This I don't consistently see in this gospel, hence rightly regarded as spurious.

    Hello, Ruth Robinson,

    Haggai 1:1,

Interestingly the Bible many times records things not with years & dates. It's actually genius because rulers have changed calendars multiple times, even the Hebrew "Jewish" calendar, but when records say as Haggai 1:1 "in the second year of king Darius' historical documents will still be reliable & relatable. Please see: Daniel 5:31, Daniel 11:1, Daniel 6, Ezra 4:5,24, Please note the significance of the 2nd year of Darius. The work on the house of GOD stopped until "the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia" Ezra 5:5,6,7, Ezra 6:1,12,13,14,15, here in Ezra 6:14, it even references Haggai, & Zechariah, Zechariah 1, again "the second year of Darius"

Part 2= the Word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet= GOD spoke to Haggai. A prophet = Numbers 12:6, Deuteronomy 18:15,18, Jeremiah 28:9,

Part 3: after GOD spoke to Haggai; Haggai then spoke the 'word' to Zerubbabel & Joshua.

The Bible many times will direct a prophet to specific people like Nathan to King David: 2Samuel 12:1,

Part 4: Many times the Bible will clarify by lineage who someone is because names are common. So "Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest" is clearly not mistaken for Joshua from the Book of Joshua. Also positions are clarified for I believe the same reason. Also see Nehemiah 12:22,

5th part, then it reads._.._"saying" It's now going to specify what GOD spoke, in the verses to follow._._

    I hope these are helpful

    Part 3.

In Acts 15 the Disciples have a counsel on whether the Gentiles should be circumcised and keep the law, then Peter stands up to address the matter. Acts 15:7-11. Here you have the apostle Peter "A Jew" saying in verse 11, we Jews shall be saved in the same manner as the Gentiles! (By faith) "He's declaring "we jews have to come to the Lord by a new covenant".

This is the new birth spoken by Jesus in John 3:5 when speaking to Nicodemus. This is that which is spoken in

    Jeremiah 31:31-34.

So here we have a new birth that provides a new nature that is generated by the Holyspirit. You see aspects of this in

Romans 6:1-23. Also, this is what is meant in John 4:21-24.

Here we have the quickening spirit by the second Adam that gives life under a new covenant where the old covenant brought death to the fleshly descendants of the first Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:45-50. and 2 Corinthians 5:1-6.

    Ephesians 2:1-5 sums it up.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

"AGAIN We're not talking about "Justification" we're talking about sanctification. Romans 5:1-21 handles justification.

GRAFTED INTO THE VINE BY THE RESURECTION OF CHRIST.

    John 15:1-5.

    Romans 6:6.

Now take these chapters in order-

    Romans 6:1-23.

    Romans 7:1-25.

    Romans 8:1-39.

We are Justified and Sanctified by the blood of Christ and given a new nature under a new covenant that bares fruit by the power of the Holyspirit.

    God bless.

    Dear Texsis

Having in mind scripture like the following:

    1 Peter 3:21

"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"

    Mark 16:16

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

    Matthew 28:19

'"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

    Acts 2:38

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

    Acts 2:41

"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."

    Matthew 3:13-15

"Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him."

If Jesus had to be baptized John's baptism to "fulfill all righteousness" and John had to step back to allow that, what about us been baptized the christian baptism to fulfill God's righteousness? Baptism is not symbolic, it is essential for fulfilling God's righteousness, essential for our salvation.

    Hello Aaron,

Welcome to the discussion, I think I may have seen some posts from you, possibly.

I think I agree with your statement about the Babylonian captivity because of: Jeremiah 34:8-22, There's also: Jeremiah 22:3,4,5,17, Ezekiel 22:7,29,

Daniel prophetic dreams & explanations, I try to line up with other scripture when I can.

However when you say "America" I have learned many people outside of USA, more often of the "America" Continents, will reference themselves as American, especially when immigrating into USA, likewise other Continental countries call them American, USA often called The States; I've learned in recent years. Being this is a globally active website I try to clarify USA. If you're speaking only of USA, I would like to comment to that. I feel it unfair to group all U.S. into that assessment. However many Psalms 62:10, treasonous, tyrannical leaders within industry, Ezekiel 46:18, banking, loans, education, political, etc Isaiah 5:7-8,, definitely fit into that. Quite possibly we, most of us, fall into the category of the oppressed more than the oppressors = that GOD will deliver, protect & bring justice: 2Peter 2, Psalms 37, Psalms 12:5, Ecclesiastes 5:8, Isaiah 54:15-17,

Hopefully these last few scriptures are encouraging

    Proverbs 4:7

"wisdom is the principle." To know the true God, and what he requires of man, and for what he has made man; and to this must be added, under the Christian dispensation, to know Jesus Christ whom he hath sent, and for what end He was sent, the necessity of his being sent, and the nature of that salvation which he has bought by his own blood.

Get wisdom - Consider this as thy chief gain; that in reference to which all thy wisdom, knowledge, and endeavors should be directed.

And with all thy getting - Let this be thy chief property. While thou art passing through things temporal, do not lose those things which are eternal; and, while diligent in business, be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.

Get understanding - Do not be contented with the lessons of wisdom merely; do not be satisfied with having a sound religious creed; devils believe and tremble; but see that thou properly comprehend all that thou hast learnt; and see that thou rightly apply all that thou hast been taught.

Wisdom prescribes the best end, and the means best calculated for its attainment. Understanding directs to the ways, times, places, and opportunities of practicing the lessons of wisdom. Wisdom points out the thing requisite; understanding sees to the accomplishment and attainment. Wisdom sees; but understanding feels. One discovers, the other possesses.

    Good question

    Ex 29:20

Take of his blood - The putting the blood of the sacrifice on the tip of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the great toe of the right foot, was doubtless intended to signify that they should dedicate all their faculties and powers to the service of God; their ears to the hearing and study of his law, their hands to diligence in the sacred ministry and to all acts of obedience, and their feet to walking in the way of God's precepts. And this sprinkling appears to have been used to teach them that they could neither hear, work, nor walk profitably, uprightly, and well-pleasing in the sight of God, without this application of the blood of the sacrifice. And as the blood of rams, bulls, and goats, could never take away sin, does not this prove to us that something infinitely better is shadowed out, and that we can do nothing holy and pure in the sight of a just and holy God, but through the blood of atonement.

    Ref to Ex 30:20

They shall wash with water, that they die not - This was certainly an emblematical washing; and as the hands and the feet are particularly mentioned, it must refer to the purity of their whole conduct. Their hands - all their works, their feet - all their goings, must be washed - must be holiness unto the Lord. And this washing must be repeated every time they entered into the tabernacle, or when they came near to the altar to minister. This washing was needful because the priests all ministered barefoot; but it was equally so because of the guilt they might have contracted, for the washing was emblematical of the putting away of sin, or what St. Paul calls the laver of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost, ( Tit 3:5), as the influences of the Spirit must be repeated for the purification of the soul, as frequently as any moral defilement has been contracted.

Honestly I don't know why , I have my thoughts but that's all they are , here they are : the blood is to consecrate , Jesus would have had blood on his head hands and feet when he was on the cross , the thief on his right made a confession of guilt and recognised Jesus's innocence and was forgiven his sins , thief on the right , right ear thumb and big toe , is there a connection there ? Honestly I don't know , I'm sorry , just my mental meanderings .

It's only recently that I have really understood the important incident in Genesis Ch 25 V 29-34 . I always felt slightly sorry for Esau , he was faint with hunger and Jacob should have just fed him I think . There is , I now realise , a lesson for us as Christians . Esau says : I am at the point to die , what profit shall this birthright do to me ? Let's apply this statement to ourselves , would we save our own physical lives and compromise our faith by not trusting in God's promise of eternal life in His Kingdom ? Would we try to save our lives in this world by sacrificing our place in the world to come ? If we are told to do something that we know is against God's will , in order to get food , would we do it to preserve our lives in this world ? I think I get it now . Yes , I am sometimes a bit dumb smiley face .

This passage is urging me and us to listen. Solomon is saying stop! listen to what im saying i am going to say somethings that you are not going to like but hear me out. Being able to be corrected is wisdom Solomon is saying we think the easy way out of things are the best way Not so all the time. That is why it is such a honour and a priviledge to know of the true and living God. As we see many today dont understand and sadly they dont want to understand. Oh, if we could just want understanding, God said he would give it to us. We dont have it because we dont ask for it

First of all that the misinterpretation of Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy is one of the biggest hoaxes on the modern church and the cornerstone of Israel-based prophecy doctrines, including and especially the rapture doctrine and the seven year Israel / antichrist tribulation teaching all of that comes out of the misinterpretation of Daniel's 70-week prophecy.

A biblically correct interpretation of Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy absolutely shows the errors of Christian Zionism. Daniel was a student of Jeremiah's prophecy of Jerusalem's 70-year captivity by the Babylonians and you can read in verses 1 and 2 of Da 9.

The archangel Gabriel appeared to Daniel and gave him his prophecy in the 69th year of that 70-year Babylonian captivity, The Babylonian captivity began with the removal of king Jeconius from Jerusalem and ended with the return of the remnant under Zerubbabel the 70 weeks that are determined upon thy people in thy holy city (verse 24) were God's judgment upon Israel primarily for its violation of God's law of the sabbath year which had been ignored for 490 years leading up to the Babylonian captivity.

The 70 weeks judgment where God's judgment upon Israel primarily for its violation of God's law of the sabbath year which had been ignored for 490 years that number is going to be very important leading up to the Babylonian captivity every seventh year was to be a sabbath year or a year of rest where servants were commanded to be freed and debts were forgiven that's Ex 23:10-12 for a period of 70 sabbath years or 490 years 70 times 7, Israel mocked God with greed and selfishness in refusing to cut off their personal property from the productivity of their servants and debt.

philosophically America is doing the exact same thing that disobedient Israel did for all of those years in our unjust unconstitutional and dare I say Antichrist economic system.

One does not have to be baptized to go to heaven. However, believers and their children should submit themselves to baptism if they are able. God commanded that we should be baptized TO WASH AWAY THE OLD SINS THEN GO, SIN NO MORE! The Lord commanded that we remember His salvation through the practicing of these sacraments until the end of the world. So, the signs of engrafting into the one true body of Christ - that is, Baptism-along with Communion - the sign of nourishing and caring for those who have been saved - are vital signs of life within the church. Having said that, and recognizing that there are communities of conviction who received Scripture to say that baptism is necessary for salvation, I would humbly but resolutely submit that there is**nothing necessary for salvation apart from repentance and faith in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ: His perfect life, His atoning sacrifice at Calvary.

    1. Works of the Flesh Being morally bad, doing all kinds of shameful things, causing trouble, causing people to argue, dividing people into separate groups, and hating people God knows your heart. God knows if you were trying to be nice and He knows if you are trying to start trouble.

    2. The "works of the law" are the actions performed to fulfill the Mosaic Law found in the first five books of the Old Testament. Keeping the Sabbath, being circumcised (the issue before the Galatian churches), eating "clean" foods, and other ceremonies are powerless to justify us in the sight of God.

**Answer to the thing they have in common is: they were written before Christ died and Resurrected to save us, changing EVERYTHING. IN JESUS OWN AND LAST WORDS.. "IT IS FINISHED".

    3. Fruit of the spirit is: ***Fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is the result of the Holy Spirit's presence and working in the lives of maturing believers and is itemized in Galatians 5:22-23. In the context of these verses, the singular fruit of the Spirit is contrasted with the plural works of the flesh ( 5:19-21). The fruit of the Spirit is the natural result of the presence of the Holy Spirit residing in a believer. Therefore spiritual baptism is just that.! Once you have the holy spirit in you and are living a godly life believing in No-one but HIM..you are baptized in the spirit.

In conclusion: Once we except Christ as our Lord & Savior we are saved by Gods grace (new way/reborn or born again) this way we no longer follow old testament rules and laws. The old nature people had to sacrifice for sins. JESUS WAS OUR SACRIFICE for ALL sins AND for EVERYONE WHO EXCEPTS HIM..PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.

    Part 2.

Let me pause for a second to say this is not a message on whether we keep the commandments or not. This is about the nature of the Un generated heart of man apart from Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit by those who are in Christ.

When speaking of the law we think of the writings of Moses and the commandments, etc.

Let's take a look at the purpose of the law and the effects and condition of those under it.

    THE PURPOSE OF THE LAW.

    Galatians 3:24.

Also take a look at Romans 7:7 .... (I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.)

THE EFFECTS AND CODITION OF THOSE UNDER THE LAW.

Here in Romans 7:23. we have Paul describing the warring of the old nature and the new nature in a believer.

"But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."

Here in Romans 8:3-7. we have a picture of the flesh held captive by the curse of the law.

(For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,)

God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, NEITHER INDEED CAN BE.

    THE LAWS CONCLUSION.

So, the law showed us our fallen and sinful condition, and the law also couldn't change the heart of man that's why we have to be born from above. This is what the new birth does and how it is in relationship to baptism. As seen Galatians 3:24-27.

    See Pt 3.

Lev, 8:23 And he slew it.-Better, and he killed, as the same word is rendered in the Authorized Version in Leviticus 8:19, that is, Moses killed it.

And put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear.-To teach him that, as the mediator between God and His people, it was his bounden duty to hearken to the commandments of the Lord.

And upon the thumb of his right hand.-To remind him that henceforth he is to execute God's will, and walk in the way of His commandments. And he {f} slew it; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

    (f) Moses did this because the priests were not yet established in their office.

***Learning of the bible is great but keep in mind, after Jesus BDR we do not do these things any more. God sacrificed His son for our sins. NOTHING else needs to be done or your telling God "what you did wasn't enough so I'm doing to do this or that to add to what you did. NOTHING needs to be added. God sent His son to die for our sins...period. Jesus's last words said it ALL.. "It is finished."
