Lord Jesus, I am continuing to ask for strong protection (pleading the blood of Jesus over us & family and asking for Holy Warrior angels and a wall of Holy Spirit fire to surround each of us), deliverance, healing (body, soul and spirit), peace and salvation and wisdom and an infilling with the Holy Spirit. Please grant what Paul prayed in Eph. 3:14-19 for each of us. Also Lord please intervene concerning the painful things you know about. Please send encouragement. Please forgive the sins that have led to these things. Please do all I have asked for us also for all others in need for your word says that you are able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond what we can ask or even imagine and you multiplied the fish and the bread and fed thousands. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray Lord Jesus. Amen

I, too, do not study the Apochrypha for the same reasons you mentioned. I wasn't encouraging anyone to study it, I was just mentioning that historically, it was included in the original KJV up until the 1700's. That's all.

I wouldn't call it a spirit world but I understand your question. The majority of modern churches teach there's no Heaven after death for the elect. This is a lie from Satan. Now, under the Old Covenant those who died in God had been for a time in Hades (the paradise side of Sheol)...such as we understand in part from Solomon

Ecclesiastes 12:7 - Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

These verse describe not only our being born again in Salvation but equally that God gives those washed in His Blood an eternity with him (Heaven...like or lump it)

John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There are two sides of the grave after death: From the unsaved there's Hell and the save eternal life with God

Christ warns...

Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

So, I wouldn't necessarily say Spirit world as the Holy Spirit lives in every born again believer. So, we know in part of that already. The body can be injured, hurt and pass away. But the soul cannot die and has only one of two destinies after death. That's why Salvation is so very important:

John 3:16-18

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Genesis 2:7 speaks of how God created the first man not every living soul there after. He created Eve from Adams rib yet every women there after is not created from a rib are they? The best advice I can give you is to read the whole Bible for yourself . I can tell you what I believe which is , that those people who die in their sins are just dead , gone forever , people who have entered into a covenant relationship with God will be ressurescted and judged when Christ returns . Those are my beliefs . There are many on here who will disagree with me and I'm fine with that . Please read it all for yourself and enjoy it .

Actually, in Leviticus 20:5-6 it talks about man spilling his seed and shall be put to death; however, the bible is talking about child sacrifice, not masturbations.

Acts 2:38 states to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins; and then you will be filled with the Holy Ghost. On the surface it may seem that not only is baptism required; but also it along with repentance is needed for forgiveness. Clearly; this is not the case as is seen from John the Baptist himself who told the Pharisees to repent BEFORE the baptism was given. At that time the Spirit did not dwell with us permanently after salvation after it did after Pentacost and the upper room experience.

This could be compared in a way to confessing with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord to be saved. ( Romans 10:9-10). Believing in the heart is a necessary condition; lest we simply have a mantra that is some intellectual acceptance of Christ as Lord; who He actually is to every person; whether or not they have been given a new heart post conversion or are still unregenerate.

The clear example is the thief at the cross. ( Luke 23:39-43). He didn't have time to be baptized; but clearly Christ was going to be with him in paradise. Therefore; baptism is as an outer confession; it demonstrates our public affirmation of becoming part of the Body and Christ and symbolizes in some ways the death; burial and resurrection in our own lives mirroring that of Christ; our head. It is clearly a command; hence it should be done ASAP after conversion. One could say that if a person does NOT seek to be baptized and goes on a long time without it it is likely there is no evidence that they have truly repented. If we love Him; we obey His commands. ( John 14:15). Obviously we should test ourselves to see if we are in the faith ( 2 Cor. 13:5-6); or as a Pastor see if there are any fruits indicating true repentance ( Matthew 3:8; etal). Matthew 5:19 shows if we break the least of the commandments and teach others to do so we shall be least in the Kingdom of Heaven. That should be a sobering warning of losing rewards for disobedience for elders and laypersons alike

Giannis, I really do appreciate you being open to this topic. The verses you have given a very popular for those who feel we can't be sin free. As you read the Bible be open to the adjectives in the scriptures and text. Ask yourself when you think you have sinned. Is it really a sin. Do I honestly want to leave it or do I like the thought that I can remain in my failures and Christ views me as perfect anyway. IF Christ gives grace to overcome some sins, why can't he give power to overcome all sins. Lets just consider some of the wording of the scripture. 1) Dead to sin or Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon Dye also yourselves to be "dead indeed" unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 2)Jesus told the woman at the well "go and sin no more".... not try to do better. 3) 1John 5:8 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God "keepeth himself", and that wicked one "toucheth him not". So we have phrases "doth not commit sin", "cannot sin", "toucheth him not", "dead indeed unto sin", James 1:15 "and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death". The following verse says "Do not err, my beloved brethren". An explanation of what I understand the scriptures in 1 John to mean "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Answer: we know we all had Adam's nature of sin prior to conversion to say we didn't is to deceive ourselves. "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us". Answer: All have sinned and come short of the glory of God prior to conversion. The following verse is what I believe is the complete mission of Jesus coming to the earth. 1 John 3:5 "And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin". I'm an evangelist. I choose to keep my focus on what Jesus did and what He said to be doing (Go Ye). That impresses me. Praying in a War Room with others, helps the spiritually bound, be freed. The Gospel is a Person, and He said to me and many others, Follow Me.

Apocrypha isn't going to help unbelievers to give their hearts to Jesus. I'm not going to change my mind

I am asking for prayer today for myself and my husband. And please keep my children, grandchildren and family in your prayers too. We all really need it so much. My mother has lipidema in her legs and she lost her husband about 5 years ago now. She lives by herself about 130 miles from me and it makes it hard for me to get to see her much. My heart breaks because of it. My mother in law has a bad heart and only 25 % of her heart is working. I was is in a bad place to and he needs Jesus to set him free. I don't get to see my children much because they all live in different towns far away from me. And my whole family is just torn apart. Please keep my grandmother's in you prayers too. One of my grandma is having trouble remembering her one husband of almost 70 years and it breaks my heart. I'm so.broken and really need these prayer! I agree with Daniel's post. There are indeed lists of sins throughout the Bible, but not organized in the way you describe which probably has catholic roots.

Examples:

1 John 2:16

Mark 7:21-23

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Galatians 5:19-21

etc.

There is one single list in Scripture that comes to mind in response to your question: Proverbs 6:16-19.

The list should be self-explanatory and not require commentary.

You will not find a list of "seven deadly sins" delineated comprehensively in the Scripture; if I am not mistaken that is a fabrication of the Catholic church, if not an abstract "spiritual" principle present in pagan sects predating it.

What you will find in Scripture is that all sin, outside of Christ, is deadly... All sin can also effectively be traced back to one single sin, namely, the pride of man. Pride deceives us. Pride keeps us from beleiving God's word.

Conversely, all "righteousness" can be traced back to faith, and faith to humility. It was not without note that when Jesus' disciples asked him to increase their faith, he effectively responded to them, "increase *your* humility."
