Looking at the Greek word for 'says' ('legei'), it appears that the word used in this verse is in the 'present' tense. Some other versions use the past tense according to the manuscript used & the translators' understanding of it. Though, in this account in Mark, I don't feel that it would alter the meaning or substance of the verse dramatically.

The Bible speaks to to salvation from sins and atonement for sins which is of grace for we had a debt we could not pay. When the Bible talks of eternal salvation it speaks of works. Some of the verses...... Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Luke 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. (if he was alive was he saved?) John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (if we don't abide in his love are we saved?) Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Matthew 19:16,17 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. (if we haven't enter into life, are we saved?) James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? (Read this chapter carefully. We want it to say that works are a result of salvation. I understand it to say that faith without works is dead for salvation). Rahab did nothing to have the opportunity to be saved (of grace), but she had to respond properly (stay in the house) to be saved. It might be beneficial to differentiate between the works of the law (which no flesh shall be justified) and the works and teachings of Jesus. The lawgiver proceeded out of Juda, not Levi. Genesis 49:10

I am a bit confused because Jude (Paul to Jude) begins with addressing the saints but reverts in the middle to recognizing the fallen angels and the comparison to Caine. Is this for saints to question their attachment to the flesh and question the percentage of their belief? For I know we are all filthy rags striving for holiness and greater use of our spiritual language. Are we then judged by others besides Christ (10,000); is this the cloud of witnesses? The new testement is more difficult than the old, I believe to interpret.

Dear Joe, when someone dies they are beyond our prayers. If the child had not reached the age where he/she knew what right and wrong way, he/she is in Heaven. I do pray that if the teacher is innocent his/her name will be cleared.

I give thanks to the donor's family without them none if this would be possible. God worked in my favour for that I am truly grateful. Now I'm working on being a doer of the word and not just a hearer. I still have along road ahead of me my faith is what gets my by . prayer's from people on here has got my by thanks to my prayer warriors. God ain't through with me yet Amen.

    Hi David,

You and your family have been lifted before the throne of grace several times since I first saw your prayer request.

A quick question: Are you, Kristie and Jessica all born-again? That is always my first prayer priority for people! :) Nothing else truly takes precedence over the condition of our eternal souls, and our walk with Jesus! Amen!

The prayer will continue, and it will be wonderful to read a prayer request in upcoming days, David!

    Blessings!

Dear Earl, I disagree with your interpretation of this verse as we becoming divine (gods).

Rather, this verse is speaking of our great privilege of having communion with the Godhead in Jesus, in which partake of the divine nature in relationship, not because we acquire the divine nature. It is a partaking by association only. God is not made of parts where aspects of Himself can be divided up and given to a being He has created. Nor can He replicate or multiply His essential nature for us to receive. He said He will not share His glory with any other being, since all other beings are created by Him. To do any of what I mentioned would mean that God changes in His essential nature and Being, which contradicts what the Word says that He never changes who He is in any way.

We have had conversations on this matter before, so I do not wish to converse any longer with you on this matter. You will never convince me that we become gods or take from God some of His divine nature. God bless you today, Earl.

Well said, Giannis. The gospel is the power of God for salvation to those who believe it.

The purpose of my post was encouragement of Salvation. We're all gulty of the sins you listed and more until we first get saved; that's why I posted about Salvation. If I'm talking to the born again -- the message needs to be strong and I agree. With already saved who plan to/are doing those things; we need to be very vocal on those verses.

Why not post them as a separate thread of discussion so we bring to light the topic of Christians living in sin. If reposted it invites more into that discussion and stays relevant. The topic I posted is for those who know not and have not been saved or those to feel encouraged to witness to the lost. But the sheep need to be discipled too.

"As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe." Mark 5:36

King James uses "saith" which is the archaic present tense of say. I'm a little confused as to whether the verb is used in the past or present tense given that all new versions translate to said.

    Thank you

    of scribes & teachers

The last prophet was the first

Within the phases of her moon shine

Each shadow is a memory of a healer we once recognised as self

Reflection deflect responsibility of an illusion we may change the future

At selfish whim or idle song of regrets

bodies counted as dead are forever lost futures of GOD'S true mind

    And unconditional love unattended

    Amen

Hi Giannis. Colossians 2:16 proclaims very clearly to not Judge others for the Sabbath (or any Holy day) in which they choose to celebrate, or whether or not they even keep the Sabbath in honor of God. In the 5992 years of Creation since Adam, God's New Moon's have not changed; His Sabbath has not changed; and His obligations for us as New Testament believers is very clear on the issue of keeping the Sabbath Holy. Respectfully Giannis, Colossians 2:16 is not matter of your own interpretation. Best, Robert
