Thanks Giannis. The only difference I see between the two verses is that in Acts 10:13, Luke is describing the account and in Acts 11:7, Luke records Peter saying those words. Otherwise the words spoken are identical. Maybe there is a difference seen when, in which 'person' the statement is given, which is not easily understood by a non-Greek reader. I too long to have that heart, Gigi, that says "No!" to self, and "YES!" to our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.

One of my favorite books (other than the Bible of course! :) - is John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress." I've read it at least 16 times, and find treasures in it, and much encouragement each time.

In one portion of the book, Christian and his companion are discussing "leaving all for Christ', which is another form of "dying to self." He makes this simple but true observation: It is much harder to REALLY 'leave all for Christ' than what we think! Just when we think we've 'lain it all down' - the Lord points out something in our lives that we haven't relinquished at all!

Yes, it's a daily process. We can't die today for what we may have to die to tomorrow. So may the Lord grace us, one day at a time, to be living sacrifices unto Him!
