  • Kay - In Reply on Romans 8 - 3 years ago
    Hi Donna,

I'm not sure I understand, "our salvation is not a singular event.." When God got a hold of me, It WAS a singular event! He brought me to repentance, He showed me my sin, He showed me the errors of my man-made, superstitious religion - and I believed on Him and in that moment was born from above! In that one moment, God took out my stony heart, and put in me a heart of flesh. My sanctification, your sanctification, the sanctification of every born-again, blood bought believer is a process, it is us 'working out our salvation with fear and trembling', as the Bible says.

But as for salvation, there must be a time when we can point to when God dealt with us, and changed us from within by being born-again by the Spirit of the living God! As for me, it was the best day of my life! Praise Jesus! That was almost 39 years ago, and Jesus is sweeter than ever! :)

Yes, salvation is a singular event, which a believer will never forget in his whole life. We cannot keep getting 'saved', but we can keep getting 'sanctified', i.e. growing in grace, becoming more and more rooted in God's Word and growing in faith. I share these things because I am concerned about you, wanting to be sure that you KNOW you are saved by being born again by believing the gospel of Christ...and then, after that, being changed little by little by the Holy Spirit!

    Grace to you!

    -Kathy-

trust in the Holy Spirit to lead you I have heard so many ideas on baptism but I believe it is an outward symbol of what God has done in your heart it's not about church membership and only the blood can wash away your sin it also symbolizes death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord In Christ amen

  • Losing a Child - In Reply - 3 years ago
God alone will judge. If the child was younger, trust God for mercy. And this may be a call to you to evangelize children in your family and neighborhood.

"Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right" ( Genesis 18:25)? This is a great comfort to those of us with loved ones who have passed into eternity and we are not sure of the destination of their souls. God is a sovereign Judge of righteousness, full of grace and mercy to all who call upon Him. It is His very justice that offers a "way" for all to escape the judgment of His righteousness, and it is in that justice that we must rest. It is grace that saves us, and it is grace in which we must stand when we go through the double grief of the death of an unsaved loved one. We must remember that we cannot make this choice for anyone else, and if they went into eternity without Christ, that was their choice in spite of the offer of grace.

Although we may have pain in the remembrance of that loved one while we are in this life and go through the grief process, there will come a time when each born-again believer will be with the Lord. In that day "God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" ( Revelation 21:4). We cannot comprehend how that will be because we live in time and are constrained by our finite minds. However, just the thought of that is enough to bring comfort and encouragement. When we see the Lord, all of the sorrow we have now will disappear. "You now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you" ( John 16:22). In the meantime, we can lean on the everlasting arms of God, who feels our pain and comforts us with His great love and mercy.

Mishael: again, trust Gods judgment. Ask Jesus to help carry this pain for you. Come back here for fellowship. You see how much we do care and respond.

Is there a verse in Isaiah in reference to, that there will be a time men will make a lie sound like the truth?
  • PROVERBS 3:15 Meaning from BibleRef website - In Reply on Job 22 - 3 years ago
In this verse Solomon continues to describe the value of wisdom. This continues the poetic representation of wisdom as a woman ( Proverbs 1:20; 3:14). He says wisdom is more precious than jewels, and nothing anyone might desire can compare with wisdom. Proverbs uses the term wisdom in reference to something more than mere intelligence, or knowledge. Biblical wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge in a godly way. That capacity to follow God's will is incredibly valuable-more so than any material possession ever would be.

The Hebrew word translated "jewels" in the ESV is pe'niy'yim, which more or less means "pearls," but can also be applied to all kinds of precious gems. As of this writing, an emerald-and-diamond ring associated with the Rockefeller family carries an estimated value of $5.5 million in United States dollars. A stone known as the Oppenheimer Blue diamond carries a value more than $57.5 million, and the famous Hope Diamond is estimated to be worth $250 million. Nevertheless, none of these gems are as valuable as wisdom.

Furthermore, this Scripture affirms that nothing a person can desire can compare with wisdom. That includes all possessions, accolades, and luxuries. A person may desire fame or fortune, but wisdom is far better. Even ownership of the world's highest priced mansion, automobile, yacht, or private jet cannot compare with the value of wisdom. A truly wise person can enjoy fellowship with God now and forever as well as eternal rewards, whereas a worldly-wise person without God may surround himself with luxuries, but he has nothing of ETERNAL value.

    Love you in Christ Jesus!
  • Growing Up in Jesus - In Reply on Psalms 34 - 3 years ago
One last thought. On the page you came into this room, there are Many Links to other pages. Come back often and read the "Become A Christian" Link. It will guide you into how Jesus takes all of your sins: past, present and future. It's not a license to sin. It teaches us to consider Jesus before we consciously sin; or willfully.

Get a KJV Bible at any Walmart store. They're in the dvd department. They have some Christian DVD's too. Hundreds of Christian movies on YouTube. The best one is Jesus of Nazareth. The whole story of his birth, his mother Mary's role in Jesus's life. The beginning of his ministry, his teachings, his path to his crucifixion on the cross.

I cried for a week after watching Jesus die for MY SINS. I had a lot to be sorry for, I guess. Tears are the water of cleansing, I think, concerning the hurtful memories that arise.

You may want to find a Christian Church to attend in your neighborhood. Just read their Tenants of Faith and be sure they match what is in the Become A Believer link on this website.

Beloved child, please come back here with any questions you have. Someone is always here to greet you. I'll forward to seeing you again,

    Mishael

We visited US, because we didn't find anyone willing/able to help us in our country ( central EU ). Had lot of issues in a family and we were not able to find breakthrough in our lives. God was working with us, we came back, but life turned upside down, especially in relationships were kind of not natural way all falling apart. We decided to be faithful and not compromise the faith, feeling like we are on a crossroads every day being put into decisions. Please pray for us to be faithful, courageous and being able to hear God's voice so we could know that we are going as the Lord Jesus want us to.

  • Doctrine of Purgatory - In Reply on Psalms 34 - 3 years ago
Of all of the teachings of Catholicism,Purgatoryis probably the one most often attacked by Catholics themselves. There are at least three reasons why that's so: many Catholics do not understand the need for Purgatory; they do not understand the scriptural basis for Purgatory, and they have been unintentionally misled by priests and catechism teachers who themselves do not understand what the Catholic Church has taught and continues to teach about Purgatory.

And so many Catholics have become convinced that the Church quietly dropped her belief in Purgatory a few decades ago.

So why do so many people think that belief in Purgatory is no longer a doctrine of the Church? Part of the confusion arises because some Catholics conflate Purgatory and Limbo, a supposed place of natural bliss where the souls of children who die without having received Baptism go because they are unable to enter Heaven since Baptism is necessary for salvation. Limbo is a theological speculation, which has been called into question in recent years by no less a figure than Pope Benedict XVI; Purgatory, however, is doctrinal teaching.

The eternal punishment of sin can be removed through the Sacrament of Confession. But the temporal punishment for our sins remains even after we have been forgiven in Confession, which is why the priest gives us a penance to perform.

    Acts 26:18

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

    Ephesians 1:7

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

I am not going to accuse or anything like that. Jesus sees us from birth to death. God lives outside of the TIME of earths clock. Come to Jesus. Agree with John 3 in the Bible. Receive Jesus into your heart. Live just for Jesus.

Yes ...Billy I believe he will be saved in the end....As our lord died for everYbody...If i be lifted up I will draw ALL men unto ME.

.... Romans 10 : 20 I was found of them that sought me NOT ...I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

....In Adam we all die but in Christ we will ALL live...1 st Cor. 15 : 22...God so loved the world that he gave his only son.

....If in this life only we have hope we are of ALL men most miserable...1 st Cor.. 15 : 19

.....GOD cd not apply the curse of Adam to ALL men no exceptions...But NOT... apply the BLOOD of Christ that 2 nd ADAM TO ALL MEN....Thats y he is saying if i be LIFTED UP i will draw ALL men unto me....See the blood ?

The Bible cd not even refer to Jesus as that 2 nd Adam if his blood was not applied to every man no exception.

Isaiah 63 : 3..I like what Isaiah said ....He wd STAIN ALL HIS RAIMENT...We are all his raiment.. i was naked and you clothe me...

Listening to a beautiful song that makes me cry every time I hear it! The love I have for my husband is so strong in my heart when I think of him listening to it! When I think of my Lord being beaten and broken, I cringe so, I can't bring myself to even think that anyone would do that to someone for there teachings! How wrong and evil it was to kill my Lord after all He has done for the world! His death and resurrection is everything to all who are believers, Thank you Lord Jesus for saving my family and I from all sins, past, present and hopefully none after giving our lives to You!! Love forever, Denise, Stephen, Samson and Tutti man!!!

Dear Edward, please read Genesis 3:22

"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become AS ONE OF US, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:"

I think the above "as one of us" gives you an answer.

    Billy:

Not everyone was ordained to take part in the FIRST RESURRECTION.

If your part IS NOT in the first resurrection; you lay in the grave until the SECOND RESURRECTION.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest EXPECTATION of the creature WAITETH for the manifestation of the SONS of GOD (first resurrection).

Romans 8:21 Because the creature ITSELF also shall be DELIVERED (second resurrection) from bondage of corruption (the grave) into the glorious liberty of the CHILDREN OF GOD.

1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things (including death and the grave) shall be subdued unto him ..... GOD WILL BE ALL IN ALL.

1 Corinthians 15:54 .....Death is swallowed up in victory.

    God Bless YOU!

    Amen Brother Alex:

Man does slow down when he is studying God's word and determine WHO the PRONOUN is.

Jeremiah 1:4 Behold the WORD of the LORD (the Father) came unto ME (the Christ, the Holy Ghost), SAYING,

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I (the Father, the Holy Spirit) formed thee (Jesus) in the belly (womb of Mary) I (the Father) knew thee (the Christ); and before thou (Jesus) came out of the womb I (the Father) sanctified thee (Jesus), and ordained the a PROPHET unto the nations.

Jeremiah 1:6 Then said I (the Christ, the Holy Ghost), Ah, Lord God, I (the Christ, the Holy Ghost) CANNOT SPEAK: for I AM a CHILD (the SEED).

Jeremiah 1:7 But the Lord (the Father) said unto to me (the SEED), say not I AM a child: for thou (the Holy Ghost) shall go

to all that I (the Father) send thee (the Christ), and whatsoever I (the Father) COMMAND THEE (the Holy Ghost) shall speak.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I AM in the FATHER, and the FATHER in ME? the words I speak unto you I speak not of MYSELF: but the Father that DWELLEST IN ME, HE DOETH THE WORKS.

Colossians 1:27....this mystery ....Christ in YOU .....

Christ (the man) is the BODY OF HIS FATHER. The Father (the Holy Ghost. the LIFE) does everything through Christ.

We are the BODY OF CHRIST; the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost (the LIFE) does every thing through man.

As the Father and CHRIST are ONE; WE and CHRIST (the Holy Ghost) are ONE.

    God Bless YOU!

What does the Bible say about Elohim?

The Jewish Scriptures teach us that 'Elohim is an honorific title, which expresses the plural of majesty, not Majesties, more than one, but one... your majesty. King of kings. The underlying reason for the grammatically plural form 'Elohim is to indicate the all-inclusiveness of God's authority as possessing every conceivable attribute of power in one deity, not three.! Only He, Jesus Christ - God Almighty has such power to do as He wants and pleases to do and doesn't need any other authority, moreover that of man's laws what has messed up God's laws. So I say Elo = I am, and him = one, not three.!
