Iverna Tompkins, Fuchsia Picket on Gabriel Heights website. They are older, but very ANOINTED women ministers. If you watch the videos on YouTube and don't learn anything, I would like to know what your thoughts are.

It is the ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRT alone, that breaks the yoke of sin and wrong ways of doing things.

These aren't meetings of giggly women. The messages are pure MEAT from the throne of God. What a blessing to get a big chunk of meat instead of a skinny hamburger.

Iverna came from a family of preachers. Fuchsia I think was hand picked by the Lord. Any woman or man is going to learn more about the Holy Spirit, than they ever gleaned from scripture.

I always say to me, see what you see, and hear only the voice of the Holy Spirit. So be it.

Back then the women were in a balcony or separated by partitions. They couldn't hear or wait till they got back home__when she would be expected to get the meal in the table Quickly!

THIS is 2000 years later, ok. The women, as well as the men are expected till wait till after service has ended, to ask questions. Or schedule a counsel hour in the week.

Most likely the service gets posted online so everyone can view it again; the elderly and sick included. They call the elders if in home prayer is needed. Almost every church has nursery and children's church.

This not the DARK AGES. Internet brings us close together. Churches should have volunteers for home ministry. "Our efforts done as unto to the Lord Jesus."

    He rewards our servanthood.

From scripture we see Jesus telling stories to children and blessing them, in the public squares.

I see no reason to preach archaic How-to behave in church. Almost everyone would do well to take turns to participate in nursery or childrens church; benevolence to the needy (collecting items and delivery). Host a teen gab-a-thon on Friday's.

Forgive me, We are Jesus's church; with arms to hug and legs to go ye. His disciples.

    The Lord bless.

Nobody preaches this so I stand on my mountain top alone. But I did those things for years, a couple of hours on a Sunday. I'm a master of funny voices, so I got frequent call backs :D

If your church doesn't have a home viewing website, maybe you can help start one?

    Hi Lewis.

You've brought up a scenario that can also be used in this regard.

God wasn't ready to give Israel a King "yet." It was Israel's will not Gods.

    1 Samuel 8:7-22.

God promised Israel a king out of Judah by the mouth of Jacob.

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Genesis 49:10,

Saul was never Gods choice as king

It was Israel using their free will that was against Gods will.

Israel is often called a stiff neck people for not obeying Gods commands.

I see no reason to avoid Biblical subjects that are not specifically dealing with the issue of salvation. I also see no reason to assume the offspring of the daughters of men in Gen 6 were only half human and did not inherit sin from Adam.

Perhaps we should look at Christ Himself; when Peter confronted him about his statements that the Son of Man would be led into the hands of men; and put to death. This was sharply rebuked as the thoughts of men; and Satan was directly rebuked as being the instigator of that thought. When we go back to the only other time Satan and Christ mentioned having a confrontation; we see largely the same theme; make these rocks be turned into bread; cast yourself down and God will lift you up (suicidal act); and of course his offer of the power of ALL the world's kingdoms if only He would bow down and worship him. These are the same concept; it was all about self; whether preservation; self-destruction (as Judas did after he betrayed Christ and couldn't live with the guilt of the consequences); or self-exaltation. We should focus not on the free will alone but the fact that we are incapable of doing anything pleasing in His sight short of a "heart transplant; otherwise known in Ezekiel as turning a "heart of stone to a heart of flesh."

It seems more commonplace for God to allow our own choices in order to futher His purposes (as He did for instance with Samson and the plans to destroy the Philistines). So; it is better said that all things are for the good for those who love God; and all things the wicked do ultimately lead to His glorification; even the destruction of the wicked. No man; clearly can wish himself out of hell successfully. His true measure is not seen as according to Isaiah; there was nothing in His appearance that would appeal to man. He is longsuffering with the wicked (at least those chosen before the foundation of the world) as He would see all men saved. It is not so much what we do on the outside; but the condition of the inner man; or soul which is utterly incapable of understanding agape love; or desiring the Lord. His power is feared; but His holiness is not appreciated.

Men's decisions are puny compared to God's wisdom.
  • Following Jesus - In Reply on John 3 - 3 years ago
As a true believer, I think you need to keep eyes of faith upon Jesus. What He says in the Bible.

This is what the Holy Spirit has been ministering to me: Don't Look Backwards Like Lot's Wife.

Put your precious Faith in what Jesus said about the end times. Rituals will not save us. Faith in what Jesus says, in the Bible (New Testament), will save us.

Jesus did not walk around in golden robes and a big hat. The Son of God had no place to rest his head. He slept on the ground, like all of his disciples. He bathed in the rivers and the Sea of Galilee. He walked everywhere. He was crucified between two thieves.

Before He went to the cross, he said: FOLLOW ME.

There is no other way to get to heaven. Rituals are not the way. There are churches near you. Google their Faith Statement online. Be a part of the fellowship. Ask God to speak to you through the Pastors messages. Meet the other people. Don't rush out the door too fast. Sometimes a lot of cars around the church, means the anointing of the Lord is there. Compare all the sermons with your Bible.

I hope this helps. Follow Jesus, beloved brother.

The Lord is Good. I'm reminded reading your Reply. When the Rich Man died and lifted up His eyes in Hell. But He saw Lazarus comforted in Paradise. Story of 2 Beggars one begged on earth and the other begged in Hell. Christ went down there during the 3 days after The Crucifixion and took Captivity Captive. He took Paradise on to The 3rd Heaven. And that unnamed Rich Man is still begging for a drop of water. But He told Abraham " Send Lazarus back and warn my 5 Brothers, get The Blood Applied ,do not come to this terrible place" And he replied" Even if one return from the dead, they still won't believe, won't give their Hearts to God. They have Moses and the Prophets. " We have God's word and The Conviction of The Holy Ghost.

I'm not sending anyone back to Earth,,,,, Period,, end of discussion. Isn't it amazing though if you turn on YouTube, you can find countless people who went to Heaven or Hell, or both. They got a Discount Pass for both, I guess. I know there are Men like Paul, who said" I was called to the 3rd Heaven, and now all I want to do is be there. I have heard a COUPLE Preachers, who I truly believe God gave a vision and they described it. But you would have to be remarkably close to God for Just that. Abraham said what, ain't nobody passing between, sorry you missed it, that's it. King Saul had to go to a Pure Demon Spirit to find a imitation of Samuel. There's no doubt , I've seen it as people drew closer to death. They saw loved ones, and some saw the flames in those last minutes. I'm not going to knock all these people, they mean well,,, I guess. But back to what My Father in law said in His Ministry, died in 2000, under the Annointing.

" If God actually let someone return from Hell, they wouldn't even work a public job. They would just get up every day and tell People, weeping, crying and begging. Please don't go to this Terrible Place" When have you ever seen that witness? It's Read my book. Hi, I'm back from Hell. Mikey Out

    Hello Virgil,

I was born into a religious family, and went to a religious school, both of which taught me heretical doctrine, including worshiping and praying to Mary, to other dead people (which the Bible calls necromancy, and is an occult practice), and many other such superstitions.

We are not to worship Mary; indeed, she was blessed among women for being the mother of Messiah, but in his earthly ministry, if you read carefully through the gospels, you will NEVER see Jesus elevating Mary the way that she is in certain world, man-made religions.

We come to the Father through Jesus Christ alone. The Bible is clear. Jesus Christ is the sole Sacrifice, the sole Lamb of God, the ONE Mediator between God and man.

There is only ONE name given among men whereby we must be saved, and that name is JESUS! HALLELUJAH!

    Grace to you, Virgil.

Last night I thought about how Samuel cryed over Saul, & I wondered if that is why Saul kept the power of the kingdom so long? 1Samuel 16:1 1Samuel 15:35, 1Samuel 28:5-20, 1Samuel 31, it was not GOD's Will for Saul to disobey HIM in multiple ways. Saul's kingdom was "ripped" from him, but was it because Samuel wept for him, mourned & sought GOD on Saul's behalf?

I remembered how Moses intercedede for all the Israelites that GOD was going to destroy & they are a nation today. Exodus 32:9-14,

    Psalms 122:6, John 17, Ezekiel 22:23-31, John 14:14, John 16:24,

Hopefully these are helpful too, even though this is on the other spectrum of this discussion, yet fit within question I hope

May God bless you, sir. You're right in that no one can really say what the moments before the rapture will be like. Jesus said to be ready and have our lamps filled. I believe because of darkness in the world. Lack of Jesus's light; also because of spiritual darkness.

Just seeing the darkness of the unsaved is frightening.

I dont know why, but lately I hear that old song in my spirit, "I surrender All", and it's so sweet and tender. I sing along with it. I don't doing like a frog for just a moment. I truly believe we're all wrong about how near t Rapture is.

    Israel is surrounded by enemies.

Our President wants to send troops to Ukraine to fight Russia. Like Matthew 24 and Luke 21. Wars and rumors of war. Food shortages. Supply shortages. Killer droughts and floods, advancing. That's why I tell people I run into, to watch the signs and be ready.

There's lots of little towns on the outskirts of big cities that might have supplies we are needing. Although it'll take more gas to check it out. Let's rediscover, frugal.

I'm just saying what it is; not future. Somehow, we need to praise our Lord and Savior. We're ok. We will be rescued. He gave us coping skills. We can sell things and live simpler. Our future is with Jesus. It's a reason to have joy, every day.

Be lifted in the spirit of your mind, my beloved friend. I walk the same way as you. Forward, towards our reward, Jesus. He spoke ( Genesis 1) into existence. He is the WORD. All we see and know about the earth, he spoke it into being. I have no doubts that He has prepare a place in Heaven that's just as wonderful.

When earth is cleansed from man's damage to it

( 2 Peter 3), many of us will return to it, to build again alongside the angels. There will be so much happiness!

Let us look forward and not backward, like Lot's wife.

When I look out my front windows, I think there are more people this old body can encourage, and warn if need be.

    Carry the GOOD NEWS, Jesus!

I would comment on Whitfield anyway that apparently he was more well known than George Washington; having reached many thousands of people throughout the US with his evangelistic campaigns. We could look at the Wesleyan revival; as well as perhaps the change in Ireland with St. Patrick if the legend is close to the truth.

It could be stated that as the church Body grows; it goes through various stages. Again; we not only have many so called "revivals" today associated with a prosperity gospel; or churches with a different spirit than the Holy Spirit; we also have had most people that are at these "Crusades" either Christians themselves or familiar enough that they already know the basics of the gospel. You won't see these televised events deep in the jungles; or inside Muslim nations or other places where cameraman and noteriety aren't welcomed. We have to keep in mind also that Christ systematically "weeded out" from the throngs those who were too caught up with material possesions; or their families and unwilling to give all up as true disciples.

We can look at Paul in Acts with those stirred up; and many such as Demus who abandoned him. We are in most likely the Laodician period or a time when that church is at least dominating. It is a "form of godliness denying the power thereof." We also look at past revivals when unfortunatly things either started off with false doctrines or more often than not they were introduced later. Unless we are aware of Satan's deceptions we are ill equipped for the battle. We may fall to the floor and weep due to our sins; but barking like dogs; shaking out of control; laughing and other hysterical screaming is not characteristic of a sound mind. The focus always has to be on sin; righteousness and judgment to come when the Spirit is present. Much of what we would like to see may not happen until the Tribulation and the great harvest. Many are fallen away today as prophecy warns.
  • God's will or man's free will (In Reply): - In Reply - 3 years ago
First of all, thank you all for your thoughts. I asked this to better understand what people thought about free will vs. God's will. I wanted to get different ideas and did not intend it to be a "who's right and who's wrong" thing. I do have some thoughts of my own to share.

I believe that whatever God wills to happen, will happen. I do not believe there is anything we can do to stop His will from coming to fruition. We have freewill to do our own thing, but there will always be consequences if we choose our own route. I believe that whatever God's will for my life is, He will make it happen one way or another, regardless of what I choose to do. I would like to respond to each of you. You took the time to reply to my question so I think it's fair to give you my time. Any future replies, if I do not answer right away, or not at all, please take no offence. I will try to respond as the Lord leads.

Adam: I agree that we have free will. Even though those two words cannot be found in scripture, I understand the concept. To answer your question, "God has a will, but we don't know what it is so how would we 'stop' His will if we don't even know what it is?" I would say that we can't stop it regardless of whether we know what it is or not.

But do we know what God's will is? There are places in scripture that tell us. But do we know what His will is for our lives tomorrow? I can't say I do. All I can do is surrender to His will each and every day. Again, I know I have free will, but it is His will that I should always be in submission to meaning I am to reject myself daily and follow Him. That's how I remain in submission to His will at all times. I agree, God does not micromanage us but at the same time I think He expects us to be in submission to Him at all times. As you say, God allows us to make choices. But if those choices go against His will, His will is always going to prevail.

I will respond to the other commenters in a separate posts. Thank you Adam!

    Thurman,

It would apply the same today. Where it says it is a shame for women to speak in the church, it doesn't mean that she can't talk. There was something taking place in the church back then that prompted Paul to write this.

Up to this point in 1 Corinthians, we were given the procedure for the proper order in the church. From Verse 34 on, we see the principles for authority. There are seven commands that are given. The first command is in Verse 34 that says let your women keep silence in the churches. That's a command.

The word woman in scripture is also the word for wife, which meets the criteria for here. Let your women, (or wives), keep silence in the churches: Please understand that back then when they gathered together, they had men on one side of the church, and the women on the other. Men could not sit with women, and women could not sit with men.

The problem was that you would have somebody teaching, and somebody's wife is over on the other side of the church calling out to her husband across the room, and they were talking across the room and being disruptive. So Paul she's not permitted to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

That's back in Genesis 3:16 under the woman. Remember after they sinned, God said I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception. In sorrow you shall bring forth children and your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Second command is in Verse 35. "And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." Notice it does not say "teach." That's covered elsewhere. So the woman was to remain silent. If she didn't understand what was being taught, she was to ask her husband at home what it meant. Also, keep in mind that the husband was responsibility to take what was being taught, and he had the responsibility to make sure that his family at home understood the teaching.

That's a good question. God gives us freewill to use. God has a will, but we don't know what it is so how would we 'stop' His will if we don't even know what it is? His already includes our will though since it's His will to give us freewill. God also has allowed humans to change His mind previously, as indicated in the Bible. So, God is powerful enough to allow Himself to change His mind.

In my opinion He's not micromanaging us and allows things to play out. He of course wants us to choose love and do good, but loves us enough to let us choose. I equate it to a parent forcing a child to say "I love you" vs. the child wanting to say it naturally. One is much more meaningful.

I don't believe the script is already written and don't believe in absolute predestination where we have no choices. Sometimes the assumption of lack of choice is used to justify committing evil. Proverbs 16:9 I believe God can guide us, especially when in prayer and asking for help. But in cases of guiding or directing I don't believe is the same as forcing or that you have no choice in the matter, but maybe more like bowling guiderails so we don't throw a gutter ball?

This is just an opinion and speculation.

    Amen God's will:

Free will is one of man's doctrines, deceiving man. Man believes he has life of HIMSELF, when the word says LIFE is of God; therefore it is God living HIS LIFE in us (the vessel):

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD that worketh in us (his life) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

The first children of Israel DIED in UNBELIEF, not knowing ALL IS OF GOD. He said I WILL destroy the nations before you.

The children didn't BELIEVE, all except Joshua and Caleb, but said, if we go into the land the giants will KILL US.

Instead God let their bodies wonder in the wilderness, until God pulled HIS LIFE from them and they returned to dust.

    God Bless YOU!

    Free,

As I was reading your response to Serita, it reminded me of a time about 7 years ago while I was out shopping; I ran into a Christian brother that I have known for over 30 years. As long as I have known him, he has always been an avid runner. He would run almost every day. However, when I saw him in the store, his wife was pushing him around in a wheelchair. I went up and asked him what happened and he told me that while he was out running, something in his back just gave out and it paralyzed him. He had no use of his legs. As I was trying to hold back the tears, I told him that I was so sorry to hear this. He looked at me and the first words out of his mouth was "The Lord is good." Can you imagine that? There he was sitting in that wheelchair not knowing if he would ever walk again, but in a situation that might cause someone to think his or her life has been destroyed, and all he said was the Lord is good!

That testimony right there took a few hours to sink in. However, when it did, it truly ministered to my heart. What I saw was a Christian brother whom I've known for so many years sitting in that chair and thinking that he may never again be able to do something he loved doing (Running). But all he said was the Lord is good. I wonder if it were me, would I do the same? Would I be bitter about my situation? Or would I use it for God's glory and minister to someone else the same way my friend ministered to me, that no matter what I am suffering or going through, the Lord is still good! Would I be able to say that in such a tough situation?

By the way, he is walking again. He may never be able to run again, but he can walk. The Lord is good!
  • GiGi - In Reply on Romans 15 - 3 years ago
DearSerita, Please know that you are forgiven in Christ Jesus and that He is always with you, even in your most difficult moments, He is with you.

My Mom is in the hospital now for two weeks due to severe sepsis. I was with her all day yesterday. At times when her oxygen levels dropped into the 80's she was quite distressed and said it was hard to breathe. She would cry out, "Help me, please help me", and "Why me, why me". I would go next to her and tell her that God knows and is with her and that He is our hope. God has numbered our days and knows how many we all have. So, let's pray. and we would pray the Lord's Prayer and then I would pray freely with her. Sometimes this is all we can do either as the sufferer or the one who reminds of the hope of Christ.

So, I say the same thing to you as I did to my mother. God is with You and is our true Hope. We do not always need to understand our suffering to lean into Christ nor should we use our time to blame ourselves, but instead, confess to God that we are sinners and can only have life and salvation by His hand and will. So we thank Him for life and forgiveness of sins, and be open for the work of the Holy Spirit in us during our times of suffering. Sometimes, all we can do is cry out to God, "Help me, help me."

    Both.

They are not two of an opposite.

Is it Gods will to murder a child?

When a born again person"chooses" to fall into sin and he is instructed by God/Holyspirit to repent " Turn back to God"

There you have a picture of a son disobeying God using his/her free will. And you have a picture of God urging him/her back to back to the light, back to his will.

There you have God in relationship to "man's" free will.

    Dear Jimmy Wayne,

You are not alone. I have felt this way for some time. I think it may be that as we age in Christ we our life is more and more aligned with God's will and His will is contrary to the will of those who age in the world. As we age in Christ we more and more have the mind of Christ and so we hate what is wrong more and more and love what is right more and more. Also, we have more power to refuse to participate in sin, so we have better discernment of people and circumstances, perceiving the sinful and evil that I should avoid, therefore, avoiding even the appearance of evil. Jesus instructed us to let our light shine before men, that they may see the good that you do and give glory to God.
